645800 tn?1466860955 What kind of games does your brain play on you? I've have been plagued with them for several years and have yet to figure out how it comes up with these games as they effect all five senses. The touch is the easiest games to figure out about my brain. It is simply bad or no signals to the brain. A real no brainer! LOL Taste and smell get a little trickier to figure out. I put them together because of the strong link between them.
Avatar m tn I have been reading a lot on brain exercises lately and have come to believe that brain games like the one you can find online might be able to help with the deficit. That the more you work out your brain the better it is. It is places like "brain games":http://www.fitbrains.com/games that can help or watching Jeopardy.
Avatar n tn 5 years ago, I had to receive two brain operations, the first being a brain abscess which resulted from a previous mastoid surgery. the second brain surgery was my lower brain had sunken down into my ear area and from that received bacterial meningitis. I was told that I have scarring on the brain, and was wondering would could potentially arise health wise in years to come as I was never fully informed on anything due to young age at the time and routine scans stopped over 2 years ago.
5986700 tn?1380791380 especially during the down times when the false energy they gave me wore off and I needed more to go back up again. The drugs ran me into the ground and drove me to quit. My brain wanted to keep using, but my body said QUIT!! So, after 4 years of battles, here I am almost a year clean again. But the energy level is that of a 67 year old. I go to the gym, walk every day, try to eat well, but the energy is still that of a 67 year old. It isn't real bad.
Avatar m tn Then at my 17 I had me second accident and I had 5 operations, 2 majors (around 2-3 hours operation) and 3 minors (around 30 mins operations). All operations were under full anaesthesia. 3 months ago, I had an operation for fixing my tendons. The operation was planned for 1 hour and 30 minutes, but due to complications, was extended to 2 hours and 30 minutes. Around two weeks after the operation, I had my first panic attack.

487443 tn?1208839512 I also found some surgeons treated autism patients by neurosurgery operations. I wonder whether neurosurgery operations are really effective for curing infantile autism and this kind of therapy is mature. Any risks exist in neurosurgery operations? Any successful cases around the world? After the redundant nerves are cut off, is it possible for them to revive after operations? Hope for your replies! Thanks a lot!
Avatar f tn I have a seventeen year old son that has had several operations for shunt replacements in 2009. He was diagnosed with Hydrochapulus and a Cysts in the "Small Brain" area. The cysts is very large which covers nearly the entire bottom part of the brain at the back. We have just had a CT scan done and they mentioned hypodensity in the Medulla area. My son's behaviour has become very erratic, he is very depressed, and he is suicidal as he does not want to live.
Avatar m tn Yes but I don't believe lobotomies are done anywhere anymore. There are brain operations done in cases of extreme ocd that I could describe if needed but they are targeted to stop specific areas of the brain in cases of a person who is harming themselves compulsively and are done with a person's consent. The difference between them and lobotomies is day and night and its not applicable to anyone posting here anyway.

Avatar n tn Please help. my 19 yr old daughter back in Oct...had strange irregular "purple" rash, swelling, headache, pain in face, couldn't move that side. Went to college clinic, sent to ER, ER felt it was cellulitis and prescribed 2 antibiotics. Condition resolved in about 2 weeks. Last Friday, she started having similar symptoms again. Rash this time was not purple, more regular redness. but otherwise symptoms the same.

203342 tn?1328737207 yea every kid loves video games but the games have to be fun. if you can get those new technologies to work with games like halo or world of warcraft i can see it being a great help to many people, but other wise i don't see it working on kids above the age of 12.

Avatar m tn t have any money at the time so I was playing flash games (games on a website that are not too complex, usually 2D) and there was one that I really enjoyed playing, but after about thirty minutes of playing my vision went out of focus and it felt like my brain was jumping around in my skull. This really spooked me and I stopped playing that game for a while, but later went back to it and had the same experience that same year.
Avatar f tn I have blood work done regularly because I have hep c and recently had seizures. I am diagnosed with abnormality on the left side of brain. 739070 tn?1338603402 Jen gave you a good answer. Since the cognitive problems are likely gray matter damage, this would be considered to be permanent. Gray matter does not heal and regrow...BUT!! the brain is capable of great adaptability - called Neuroplasticity (be sure to read the HP on this topic). New connections can form and old lost skills can be regained - to some extent. There are all sorts of computer "Brain Growth" or Brain Training games.
