Avatar dr m tn If you answered yes to any of the above, what you will read below will show you how critical it is to breathe well through your nose. Chronic mouth breathing can not only affect your quality of life, but your life, period. As an ear, nose and throat specialist with years of experience helping people breathe better through their noses, I have seen hundreds of people have dramatically improved lives.
Avatar f tn Kapalbhati -(Do it before eating) Push air forcefully out through the nose about once per second. Stomach will itself go in(contract in). The breathing in(through the nose) will happen automatically. Establish a rhythm and do for upto 15 minutes twice a day.(Max 60 min/day) Not for pregnant women. Seriously ill people do it gently.
Avatar n tn no you probably just knocked out something in your brain, like amnesia, your brain jsut forgets how to smell haha, that's the best explanation i can give, but if it doesn't come back in the next couple of months, you should get a ct scan or something to see if it it isnt something like an aneurysm or brain damage to a lobe.
Avatar n tn Hey, I just got a new nose without having to go through surgery at www.WestsideMedicalSpa.com.
Avatar m tn The septum typically naturally moves from side to side. If you notice you may be breathing differently out of each side from time to time. I have the opposite problem, my septum is deviated towards the right. I have also had a septoplasty but it didn't do much to solve my problem. After the years I came to realize that it got deviated to the right because I found it very comfortable to sleep on my right and slept on my right side for years.
Avatar m tn Close little flap of ears with thumb, place index finger on forehead, and rest three fingers on base of nose touching eyes. Breathe in through nose. And now breathe out through nose while humming like a bee. Repeat this 5 to 21 times.

574118 tn?1305135284 My doc wrote omnic (flomax or tamuslusin) 0.4 mg. I got all the side effects (stuffy nose, put on weight, back pain, more urge to urinate, ache in penis and bladder, etc....) I wonder would it be better to do an operation. my doc says drug is better than operation, that I should continue on the drug fearing of obstruction one day. I am not a doc , rather an engineer, I learn in my field to destruct something if something goes wrong than to keep trying fixing it.
Avatar n tn i also felt that the air coming in the one hole of my nose is also passing through the other side of my nose. and also one hole of my nose often blocked kind of stuffy or congested. not only im having nightmares because of this but im always remember my dreams!.. that make me felt tired after i wake up. and also i felt pain on my left side of my chest. i also slept for only 4 hours. with matching nightmares and remembering the dreams.
Avatar f tn Just 2 years ago, my sister went to a very good doctor, it was her growing polyps in her nose that made her suffer. after the operation, it was not cancerous and she breaths comfortably with her nose now. The same with my co-employee who undergo the same operation just this week.
Avatar m tn the doctor said that i need to have a laser operation of my nose in which he was going to burn my inferior turbinate to open the opening of the nostril so that my sinus drains properly.. my mom wanted to consult another doctor when the nose congestion started and the dizziness started . the other doctor said the same as the first doctor but he said there was no need of an operation . he gave me a nasal spray (Flixorase) and an anti allergy..
Avatar f tn One thing you might try is a breathing excerise that a doctor taught me and that is to breath in through you nose to the count of four and hold it for 5 and breath out through your mouth for count of 5 The doctor said when you are experiencing anxiety your brain lacks oxygen. Try it as it really works and your mind feels a lot better. My daughter used to breath into a bag when she became anxious. Obviously this will eventually go away. Don't give up hope.
Avatar f tn I had the pituitary surgery through the nose. While it seems very scary, I traveled 3000 miles for mine, and then got on a plane a week later and flew home. The pituitary is pretty much directly behind the eyes - they go through the sinuses, break one small bone, and have access to the dura surrounding the brain, and they they are in the sella where the pituitary sits and can get to where they have to get.
Avatar n tn ve had 3 surgeries. The first was done through the side of the nose with no positive results. The same Dr. did the second surgery with an ENT and went through the nose - still no positive results. I changed doctors and he did the surgery again through the side of the nose. I had much better results for quite some time but lately the watering has gotten worse again. My eye stays wet and chapped and is extremely annoying.

Avatar f tn I avoid pain meds by using acupuncture - but I had to use surgery for my lesions - I got mine through my nose though which is not an option for you. But sometimes, learning more - while at first may be scary as you learn all the bad things, can also help, because you learn that things can be ok - if treated well. In the meantime, find a neuro-endo and get hormone testing - see if they will take you on. Often they will only take a pituitary patient, but they may take you with the cyst.
Avatar f tn Hi I was diagnosed with a brain cyst by my GP, she said that I probably had it since birth. She didn't really do much explaining except that it wasn't anything serious and wasn't the cause of my daily headaches. She had an MRI done on me which came out fine. I was just wondering, I have been getting my headaches back again quite often, and I was wondering if these cysts can grow?
Avatar m tn After we were done with vaginal sex, we started on oral again, and at that point her nose started to bleed (told me she recently had an operation and her nose was very sensitive after this) When her nose started to bleed I immediatly pulled myself back , and at that second some blood drops came on my anus and there was a lot of blood on the bed sheet. I didn't panic at that moment..but after we were done and she left the house, something started to kill my brain..what if she has HIV..
