Avatar n tn Gluta C pills will not be really successful with skin lightening, nor anyother pill because oral glutathione only breaks down in the GI tract and is poorly absorbed, so not enough benefit from them. Any slight lightening that you might see is due to the vitamin C, as vitamin C has been proven to lighten skin. There are glutathione intravenous injections which has higher absorbtion, but you'll have to make sure that they are genuine and are not diluted.
798555 tn?1292787551 I guess it would depend on how dark your natural skin color is, and if the salon has a bronzer which can match your skin tone. Line I said, it works for me, but then..., I am very very white! So, that's what I do to deal with vitilago. I don't know what other people might do, or might be able to reccommend as I do not know any other individuals, (who are white), who have this type of condition.

The treatments wholly depend upon your needs and skin type. For standard non-hormone induced hyperpigmentations Hydroquinone usually reduces or removes hyperpigmentations very effectively. Avatar f tn Hello, Before deciding the treatment we have to find out what is causing this skin lightening or hypopigmentation. It can be due to post inflammatory, fungal skin infection or vitiligo. Vitiligo is a pigmentation disorder in which melanocytes (the cells that make pigment) in the skin are destroyed. As a result, white patches appear on the skin in different parts of the body.

Avatar f tn Hi, Steroid medications may cause the lightening of skin with continued usage. The Skin will regenerate and perhaps over time the skin color would become normal again. You may consult another dermatologist to advise some other applications which may be helpful. Further, you may use make-up concealer to help you with this.

Avatar f tn Are you wanting a cream to lighten your skin? I'm not sure what you have available- but anything that is marked skin lightening or something like "radiance lightening" would be what you are looking for- do keep in mind that these creams won't always give you the exact results you are hoping for- kinda like wrinkle cream, they don't always work and if they do don't always work for everyone.
Avatar n tn Hello, I've noticed that I have a shadow-like, blackish pigment on my upper lip. I'm really confused about why I have this pigmentation because the only skin problem I have is eczema. I was once using a topical steroid to treat my eczema and I'm wondering if that caused any hormonal changes which resulted in the pigmentation. I want to see a dermatologist, but I have no idea where to find one.

Avatar n tn It is caused by yeast called Malassezia furfur which normally live on the skin of most adults. This fungus produces a chemical, which inhibits the normal production of pigment in the skin resulting in areas of lighter skin .The other differentials of your condition are Pityriasis alba which produces mild, patchy lightening of the face, shoulders, or torso. In vitiligo there is a permanent loss of pigment. It is best to schedule an appointment with a dermatologist and get checked.
Avatar m tn Hello, For the past year or so I can see that my face skin looks really unhealthy. When I look in the mirror, my face looks kind of dirty. The rest of my body skin is clear but my face has small dark-brown scars, a few (7-10) black dots. Most noticeable are the dark patches (about 1-2 inches) on my cheeks. IS there any way of clearing this and having a clear and normal skin? btw, I am 25 years old male. I am british asian so have brown skin.
9171934 tn?1405180032 s no proof that the chemicals in hair bleach --like peroxide or ammonia --cause birth defects, miscarriages, or any other complications, there are also no reliable studies that prove that bleaching your body hair is totally safe. Since it's likely that these chemicals will be absorbed through the skin and can reach your baby, it's best to avoid using them --especially in the first trimester, when much of your baby's crucial development is taking place.

Avatar f tn This patch of skin started darkening up between my breasts about 2 years ago and it won't go away. It actually seems like it's getting worse! I've tried almost every skin lightening home remedy and nothing seems to work. It really knocks my confidence way down because I don't feel comfortable wearing certain things. Does anyone know what exactly this can be? And how I can get rid of it?
