1732032 tn?1310186715 if my fathers blood type is A and my step mom is O is it possible that their child is B?
Avatar n tn This means that a child with type O blood could have parents with type A, type B, or type O blood (but not with type AB). Conversely, if two parents both have type O blood, all their children will have type O blood. Another medically important blood type is described in the Rh system. These genes were first discovered in the rhesus monkey, hence the designation Rh.
5889951 tn?1380316047 I was discussing with my sons father who is o negative blood type and I am o negative blood type would my son be o negative as well? If anyone has any info they could share with me I would be very appreciative.
Avatar f tn They only give you O type blood if they have to because its a neutral blood type and your body wont reject it.
Avatar f tn I am o negative blood type as well and i didnt miscarry i only got my first shot at 28 weeks. i dont why they said its your blood type. my doctor was more concerned about me then the baby.
Avatar f tn hi all mummies to be, I'm concerned for my blood type and others with the same. This is my second pregnancy but unfortunately my first ended in miscarriage and my gp stated something to do with my blood type fighting against the baby's blood cells because my partners blood is positive. I'm scared it's going to end the same way does anyone else know anything about o neg blood in pregnancy a bit concerned !!
1204700 tn?1271948852 I was wondering the same thing since your blood is separated from the baby so it shouldn't be an issue what your blood type is unless your rh negative.
Avatar n tn We inherit 2 copies of our genes, one from our mother, and the other copy from our father. There are three different forms (called alleles) of the gene for blood type called A, B, and O. Blood type is determined by the combination of alleles inherited from our parents. A person’s blood type is called their phenotype, and the different genetic combination of the forms of the gene is called a genotype. An example of a genotype would be OB.
Avatar f tn Any woman who is a negative blood type has to get the shot if baby is positive blood type it's just normal
Avatar f tn I just recently asked what was my blood type because my mom told me I was o-negative. Well I found out that I am but I never received a Rhogam shot. My doctor has never even discussed it with me. Is this a big issue? Will this cause any complications? Has anyone else dealt with this????
Avatar f tn Soo my midwife informed me that I'm O-negative which means my blood can't pass thru to the babies blood because my cells will fight against it so at 28 weeks I have to have an injection to prevent this from happening in the mean time if I fall or bang my bump i have 48 hours to get this injection before it can cause harm?? Has any1 ever heard of this ??
Avatar f tn You mean Rh negative. This means your Blood doesn't contain the Rhythm protein. It has nothing, absolutely nothing to do with your Blood type.
Avatar f tn Reason why, the only reason why having o- blood type is a problem is if your baby has a different blood type then you and for some reason your blood is mixed during pregnancy then your body will not recognize it and try to fight it off like an infection. It will create antibodies but those antibodies only happen in second, third, or any other pregnancy in the future.Your body won't make them during your first.
Avatar n tn Hello cdc29, Just reading your question with regards to blood type. If the father is O pos and the the mother is A pos you can NOT produce an offspring that is B neg. Here is why, we will deal with the blood groups and leave out the Rh factor for simplicity (will explain that after).
Avatar f tn Soo the midwife infirmed me that I'm O-negative which means my blood can't pass thru to the babies blood and if it does it can cause my cells to fight against the baby??? She sed I have to have an injection at 28 weeks regardless but if I bang my belly or fall over or anything then I have 48 hours to have this injection before it can cause harm??? Has anyone else ever heard of this???
Avatar f tn ) ut im conserned on the fact that i have O- blood type and My OBGYN did say that on the 2nd time expecting it was more risking... Does any one know more info about this? I realldy didnt get much just the part that my body attacks the baby... So HELP!
Avatar m tn Is it possible for Father with blood type A+ Mother O+ and child B+ blood type??
538330 tn?1232023960 For example, if your mother is O-positive and your father is A-negative, than you can be O-positive, O-negative, A-positive or A-negative. So you can get the type ( O, A, B, or AB) from one parent and the Rh factor (positive or negative) from the other parent. It is also possible to have the exact same blood type as one of your parents.
Avatar n tn I have negative blood type and had several pregnancies that I was fine with- one miscarriage and then one other pregnancy after that- he's four months old now. When you have RH negative you will need to get a shot for each pregnancy and after a baby is born, they test their blood type, if they are positive, they give you another shot.
Avatar f tn OK only mothers that r RH negative (negative blood type ) get the rogam shot....it stops your blood from taking on the antigens of the baby's blood if mother and baby's blood mix at the time of birth...if this were to happen and you should end up pregnant again there's a chance your body would abort the baby and you'd miscarry this happens when the blood type is different due to the now antigens you adopted from this baby...the shot stops your blood from doing this ...
Avatar n tn That is when the mother has a negative blood type and the fetus is positive because the father has positive blood. That is the only time there is an issue.
1230912 tn?1273492770 I am always reading about symptoms and connections. I think that the RH negative blood type is a clue or something. Have you read the crazy stuff about Rh positive blood some folks call it monkey blood and the negative blood they call reptilian blood....uh, ok...they say that folks from the Basque people (spain which was infiltrated with vikings) that they have the highest amount of the o neg types.
Avatar f tn I have been looking into this blood type diet myself being a blood type O but recently I have become concerned if I suffer manic episodes or am bipolar. Certain periods in my life become notably amazing. Usually when Im relatively lean I find myself with too much energy than I know what to do with! My social life improves dramatically! I quit 2 different jobs during these periods of "high". I almost become contagious during these periods wishing I could feel like this forever!
Avatar n tn we have just found out our daughter it blood type b negative, both me and her dad think we are O but we are not sure what blood group are parents that produce our daughters blood type.
205230 tn?1237405193 I just spoke to the nurse. She explained to me that RH is a factor in everyone's blood. You either have RH negative or RH positive. I am type O & negative RH (O neg.) Then she said we all have antibodies that are also pos. or neg. My antibodies are neg. as well and I will definitley need rhogam. She said it is around 20 weeks she thinks... she has to get back to me. She also said with neg./ neg. it doesn't matter what my DH is and I will have to have the shot. Neg.
Avatar f tn Okay so my blood type is o-negative , I'll be 20 weeks tomorrow and everybody has been telling me that I'm suppose to get a shot twice so that my blood doesn't fight off the babies blood if he has a different type. Has anyone else ever had this problem? Should I call my Dr and ask?
Avatar n tn What blood type would a child be if mom is A neg with rh negative and father being o neg? Or mom and dad both being A neg with also mom's rh negative factor?
3198629 tn?1367038423 Umm, my sister had to have a needle when she was pregnant with her first because she had a negative blood type and the father was a positive. My question is, I don't know what blood type my fiance is and I'm O+, but I was under the impression that if you were positive the fathers blood type didn't matter, is that true? I don't want my body to attack the baby..
