Avatar f tn I found the book and copied the information: "Ultraviolet blood irradiation therapy is said to improve oxygenation of tissue, help with inflammation, stimulate immune system and fight viral infection. This treatment, which has been approved by the FDA consists of bombaring the blood with ultraviolet light. It appears to render the virus inactive. This treatment is offered by Bradford Research Institute in Chula Vista, CA." I have no idea how long it takes or what it costs.
Avatar f tn I can't find any studies which describe that, but that was the information given to me when I participated in the TrialNet study. Not having a history of type 1 doesn't really mean anything, type 1 is being diagnosed more and more often in children that have no history in their families. It's unfortunate, but true. My suggestion would be to continue to keep in contact with your endo and family doctor, followups will be necessary to verify glucose scores and the status of the pre-diabetes.
Avatar m tn at the start of this year i weighed in at close to 246 (btw im a 28 y/o male) I was going on vacation to florida so i aspired to lose 16 pounds, which, in 3 months, i did! i weighed in at 230 when i left, but now i am back at 243ish. I think that vacation was a little rough. Now, heres the problem, i am getting married next July and i want to get back to my highschool weight of 185. I bought a new montain bike and have been riding it 3-4 days a week, but im not losing any weight!
Avatar m tn o). They don’t specify the type of fat, so I suppose the equivalent in things like olive oil, etc, would be acceptable. I’d hate to achieve SVR, and then die a few months later from heart disease, as you mentioned. Who knows?
413852 tn?1317312312 Sorry...forgot to make introductions. I've been to the forum a few times and have posted, but am now becoming active in my treatment and am looking for support from all the great ladies on the forum. BTW, I am Savanha and I hang out a lot on preg35+ forum...it gives me comfort to know there is hope and I glean from that forum. I am encouraged by so many of the post I've read on this forum as well and know that I am not alone...that we are all strong & keeping our hope active.
Avatar f tn When the GI first made waves among health enthusiasts, carrots got a bad rap for raising blood sugar. That's because the type of sugar they contain is transformed into blood sugar very rapidly -- almost as fast as table sugar. But since the amount of sugar is low, carrots are still on the menu. Thank goodness they are, because they're one of the richest sources of beta-carotene, which is linked to a lower risk of diabetes.
Avatar n tn Type O neg is the universal donor. O positive can accept O neg blood. O neg can only accept O neg--not O pos. I've always thought that a huge % of O neg are infected. My Doc said that I probably kept getting re-infected every time I had blood trasfusions. B/c the blood pool for us O neg's is so small. So, tallblond, that means an O neg is the bottom of the list since there will always be someone sicker who can use an O neg transplant-incl O positive. That's why I chose tx.
Avatar f tn When in doubt about anything on a menu, just order a big dinner type salad (sans croutons) with oil and vinegar dressing (also lemon wedges make a passable "dressing"). This way you can eat almost anywhere with friends without having to make a big fuss or call attention to yourself. In time you it will all become so much easier. Good eating!
Avatar m tn Hi, my GP has informed me that I am suffering from Polymorphic Light Syndrome, he gave me Mometasone Furoate 0.1o/o which has'nt helped.
Avatar f tn I've never had eye issues so this scared me very much. Last nite, after entering a restaurant and sitting down I experienced a flashing arc light (like the shape of the letter "C") and the shape appeared to be made out of prisms with the diamond, slightly colored affect similar to a glass prism you hang in the light.
Avatar n tn Not sure of all this is ralated but my doctor thinks it is gastroperises which goes with all of my symptoms except for the low blood pressure. Has anyone else experienced the problems with low blood pressure? I am on medication for this but at times I need to take 6 times as much medication (doctor's orders)in order to function at all. Really limits my activities a good part of the time. Any input will be appreciated. Thanks!
Avatar m tn As of late last night, it appears first two live donors did not provide a match and a third possibility was being tested. There was a request to see if other type O donor volunteers where available for this little girl along with information on who to contact. I could provide that here if anyone knows of someone who might be willing to help this child have a shot at living more of a life, with hopefully a better quality than she has had during her first 10 years.
791533 tn?1309748944 And I recalled the worst it ever was one day I went into a fast food restaurant and I became freaked out because I couldn't read the menu--it was blurry. But those were isolated instances so I never thought about it as much of a problem. He told me my eyes had extremely high pressure. And that it might not mean anything but he wanted me to come back for some more tests. Two more tests in one appointment. Then the last test I'd have to be in the office for an extended period of time.
Avatar f tn He got his red blood cell transfusion on Saturday, and after that they gave him Neupogen. He had a slight fever on Friday and they were nervous about an infection. Despite a clear chest Xray and no further fevers, they will not release him until his WBC is over 500. They never told me what it was upon admission- they said 7.4 but that may have been his RBC. My main concern is that they have stopped his riba while he is in the hospital Do you all think this will hurt his chances of SVR?
Avatar m tn -) Wobbles, i am at my name on this forum at y a h o o . c o m if you want to send me a screen shot of one that shows the flairing/lesions around the ventricles. 11828737 tn?1421401720 Glad you got the lysine, got the powder type right? I've been using this for my Nemo too, he is a carrier of the herpes virus and gets runny infected eyes when under stress.i use lysine in the purest form from Carlson Labs. Mix up to 1000mg of the powder in bit of water and give orally via a dropper. When eyes clear in abt one week drop dose to 250 mg for continued maintenance.good luck....this will work great for him!!!!
Avatar n tn 00am this morning. The blood work came back (fine--as he put it) except for that elevated white blood cell count of 19000, normal being beween 4000-11000. Ped. said it is most likely from his throat infection, and perscribed antibiotic. In two weeks we need to get another blood test to see if white blood count goes back to normal. He did not account for the sleepyness, sunkin eyes, thin body, sparkiling/tingling feet, sore legs. But said the lump in his neck is from infection of throat.
Avatar f tn I was told that I am prediabetic and have high insulin levels and high blood pressure. My blood sugars are normal. Due to these strange reactions of my HS to the special diet, I would almost lay money on the fact that MANY cases of HS are caused by toxins in our bloodstream caused by bad diet habits and high insulin levels in the blood. Especially since some of the research I've done says that most HS sufferers are overweight.
Avatar m tn Currently assigned to Regal Medical Group. It seems like they are contracted with a lab called Quest Diagnostics, that run all the blood test work. I went to my PCP a week and a half ago to get the follow-up test for hep b, after having the initial test diagnosis. I asked for hbsag count, hbv dna count, hbeag and hbeag antibody (I already got the rest). They took my blood and sent it to Quest.

886699 tn?1270783344 She diagnosied my POTS (sort of) and said that there is no one at UM that can help me. My daughter-in-law is a nurse manager at Holy Cross. They have a certain type of cardiologist that might be able to help us. I have to get the name from her and I'll post it on this thread. I think his title begins with electo-something or other. I just came back from Vanderbilt because there seems to be no one down here that can help. Vanderbilt, changed my dx and spit me out.
Avatar f tn I think what you're describing in terms of blood pooling in your head region (nose/ears) may be flushing rather than blood pooling.
392430 tn?1382908381 ok, looks like I don't need to start a new thread afterall! Thanks Kele! I saw this last night and thought you all might find it interesting... this is what happens in a 3dt : 1dpt ..embryo is growing and developing 2dpt... Embryo is now a blastocyst 3dpt....Blastocyst hatches out of shell on this day 4dpt.. Blastocyst attaches to a site on the uterine lining 5dpt.. Implantation begins,as the blastocyst begins to bury in the lining 6dpt..
Avatar f tn I'm 3 dpo. Breasts have been extremely sore since the morning after O. I am having pinching/twinges in my uterus all day. Mainly my left side. I felt sick before I ate breakfast, thought I was gonna get sick half way through breakfast (poor DH cause he made breakfast for Mother's Day, but it was nothing against the food!) and afterwards felt like I was still starving, but still felt sick. I took a nap, and still tired today and just feel emotional.
94007 tn?1224766336 Some have a whole menu of symptons and some suggest most of those ailments have nothing to do wih Hep C. Fortunatly, you have a great doctor and medical staff behind you. Pick their brains and see what they think.
Avatar n tn O Glad2beamom- so you like the cold too? Every single person I talk to hates the winter/cold. I love it. We are going to be moving to Az. soon. I don't know how the heck I'm going to survive there!
