Thanks for your information. Actually I tested my blood sugar 3 hours after ate. I am not diagnosed as diabetes till today, but I am awared that my blood sugar level may increase in this my age because of my bad eating habits like sweet, meat, rice , alcohol drinking etc. That's why I am testing my blood sugar level regularly. I want to know whether testing after 3hrs ate is perfect or not.

HI 48 year old male, 5 feet 8 inches. 164 lbs. Recently had blood test , Blood sugar came back 128m/dl. Doctor has not recommended any medicines . He suggested to exercise and control the diet. Day before the test had a pasta lunch with cola and small pasta fried fish dinner with 2 drinks(alcoholic). dinner complete at 9.00pm. Also had a antidepressant for sleep. Went the next morning for test around 8.am. Is it possible for my test to be wrong given the previous days gluttony.

Hi, Yes it is normal for blood sugars to be higher when you are sick. Should go back down to normal when you recover.

For anyone that finds this in their searches, it turns out that I actually have Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS). Autonomic testing showed a drop in blood pressure after eating which cause these symptoms!

As for carbs, choose the healthy carbs or brown rice and more slow digesting carbs. That way your blood sugar won't rise as high or fast. Hi, if you are prediabetic and on no medications, then you want to use the testing to see how high your blood sugar goes and also the effects of your lower carb diet and exercise on blood sugars. Fasting blood sugar is a good baseline. Ideally fasting blood sugar is in the range of 70 - 95, with in the 80s considered perfect. You want to then determine what is the maximum blood sugar you get after eating.

Haven't yet been in to see an endocrinologist or a dietary person to talk blood sugar levels and diet. Am having problems dealing with my insurance company who won't even cover my stupid testing strips. They basically are $1 a strip. Expensive. How are you arriving at this conclusion? Are you home testing your blood glucose, or is this random or fasting lab testing results? How long have you been tracking this?

i have 3 children with celiac disease. we got in on a celiac study done through the university of california,irvine. we now know that my husband and i and 8 of my 9 children all are DQ2 positive. i don't know why the disease activated in only 3 of my children and no one else---at least not yet. my celiac children are all girls--identical twins that just turned 20 and a 16 year old. they were all diagnosed at the same time 5 1/2 years ago.

Is it possible to have diabetes without having high blood sugar? I've never had a glucose level over 90 on any blood test. I've had to have labs done several times throughout the last couple of years. It's usually 70-80. Once 90. Never anything else. I have to go in tomorrow for testing because my urine has had a strange odor. I don't want to say it's sweet but it's kinda similar. I've never been overweight and have never had a recorded high glucose level.
