Avatar m tn Thanks for your information. Actually I tested my blood sugar 3 hours after ate. I am not diagnosed as diabetes till today, but I am awared that my blood sugar level may increase in this my age because of my bad eating habits like sweet, meat, rice , alcohol drinking etc. That's why I am testing my blood sugar level regularly. I want to know whether testing after 3hrs ate is perfect or not.
Avatar m tn HI 48 year old male, 5 feet 8 inches. 164 lbs. Recently had blood test , Blood sugar came back 128m/dl. Doctor has not recommended any medicines . He suggested to exercise and control the diet. Day before the test had a pasta lunch with cola and small pasta fried fish dinner with 2 drinks(alcoholic). dinner complete at 9.00pm. Also had a antidepressant for sleep. Went the next morning for test around 8.am. Is it possible for my test to be wrong given the previous days gluttony.
173119 tn?1296999736 Hi, Yes it is normal for blood sugars to be higher when you are sick. Should go back down to normal when you recover.
Avatar m tn For diabetics, their body does not respond to the elevated blood glucose adequately. They need to control their blood sugar with changes to diet and exercise and often medication. Do you take any medications for your blood glucose? If you do not understand what changes you need to make, you should speak to your doctor about what is recommended for you specifically. Your doctor may have a sample diet menu or be able to recommend a nutritionist to help you understand the proper diet.
Avatar f tn For anyone that finds this in their searches, it turns out that I actually have Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS). Autonomic testing showed a drop in blood pressure after eating which cause these symptoms!
Avatar n tn Would you say this is out of the normal range. I had blood work done about a month ago when I had my annual physical and my sugar level came back at 109. My doctor didn't seem to alarmed.
Avatar f tn Anything with carbs is going to spike your blood sugar. If your trying to stabilize blood sugar, I would recommend eating lots of protein and vegetables. As for carbs, choose the healthy carbs or brown rice and more slow digesting carbs. That way your blood sugar won't rise as high or fast. I'm type 1 diabetic and pregnant, so u have been testing blood sugar like crazy for a good amount of my life.
Avatar f tn Hi, if you are prediabetic and on no medications, then you want to use the testing to see how high your blood sugar goes and also the effects of your lower carb diet and exercise on blood sugars. Fasting blood sugar is a good baseline. Ideally fasting blood sugar is in the range of 70 - 95, with in the 80s considered perfect. You want to then determine what is the maximum blood sugar you get after eating.
1058898 tn?1275675151 my labs were coming back as below 70. so this whole time when i started to feal hypo when my blood sugar was in the 90, it was really in the 70 and below. the endo said i have low sugars and i have to see a dietitian tomorrow to learn how to keep my sugars up. she didnt tell me why my sugars are dropping low at all. all she said is that its probably my diet. how does your diet make you have low sugars?
640347 tn?1228533326 Please, monitor your blood sugar and take care of yourself so your prediabetes does not get any worse. When yor blood sugar was 150 had you had anything to eat because anything you eat can effect your sugar.
325405 tn?1262290178 Haven't yet been in to see an endocrinologist or a dietary person to talk blood sugar levels and diet. Am having problems dealing with my insurance company who won't even cover my stupid testing strips. They basically are $1 a strip. Expensive. I had gestational diabetes several years ago (gestational diabetes was covered 100% for supplies and visits), so I am aware of how to do all the blood testing and have been doign fine about that.
304573 tn?1345577338 How are you arriving at this conclusion? Are you home testing your blood glucose, or is this random or fasting lab testing results? How long have you been tracking this?
709686 tn?1277432159 They usually come with 10 test strips and 10 lancets and instructions, which should be plenty to check your blood sugar throughout a couple of days. Extra test strips can be pricy. If you go this route, most recommend checking your blood sugar first thing in the morning (fasting) and 2 hours after meals.
Avatar n tn Hi I am 49 years old, when I exercise I get low blood sugar, I dont have diabetes, but want to know what is the chance of developing it, it usually comes on after about ten minutes of exercise and gives me slightly distorted vision, within a minute or so of stopping exercise it goes back to normal, I would be grateful for any answers, thanks.
Avatar n tn I am high risk for type II based on family history, two pregnancies with gestational diabetes and I am about 50 lbs overweight. I was also diagnosed with hypoglycemia at 16 (I'm now 32) On Monday I was feeling foggy, trembly and weak so I decided to check my glucose to see how low I was. I was actually at 187. I decided to start the traditional 2 hours after meals checks and my numbers were as follows...12:30 p.m.
Avatar f tn Glucose is sugar. They're testing how your body digests sugar during pregnancy.
Avatar n tn i have 3 children with celiac disease. we got in on a celiac study done through the university of california, irvine. we now know that my husband and i and 8 of my 9 children all are DQ2 positive. i don't know why the disease activated in only 3 of my children and no one else---at least not yet. my celiac children are all girls--identical twins that just turned 20 and a 16 year old. they were all diagnosed at the same time 5 1/2 years ago.
Avatar m tn I'm still really worried about this. What if there was blood on the lancet they might have reused on me?
Avatar n tn How can your blood sugar be 255 at bedtime and fall to 40 at 5:30 am?
Avatar n tn Thank you, in questioning my doctor his comment was not to allow my blood sugar to be too low. I will call his office again to try and get help. I've been having difficulty getting assistance for many things lately.
Avatar f tn half year post liver transplant, my question now is about his bood sugar, we are trying to monitor it , we have the kit and test sugar before and after meal, but there was time that in just a minute sugar rises and and sometimes went very low. is this normal for or the kit have a problem?
Avatar f tn Is it possible to have diabetes without having high blood sugar? I've never had a glucose level over 90 on any blood test. I've had to have labs done several times throughout the last couple of years. It's usually 70-80. Once 90. Never anything else. I have to go in tomorrow for testing because my urine has had a strange odor. I don't want to say it's sweet but it's kinda similar. I've never been overweight and have never had a recorded high glucose level.
