Avatar f tn At 72, I've never had any doctor address anything regarding an elevated blood sugar level from bloodwork done every 6 months! Had bloodwork done 2 weeks ago, my blood sugar level is 133...how do I deal with this? What has caused this? Doctor is concerned, not frantic about this today, but I am alarmed.
Avatar n tn Diabetes is an imbalance of body. Take steps to keep it in control but my sincere advice is never panic and live in the blues.
Avatar m tn HI 48 year old male, 5 feet 8 inches. 164 lbs. Recently had blood test , Blood sugar came back 128m/dl. Doctor has not recommended any medicines . He suggested to exercise and control the diet. Day before the test had a pasta lunch with cola and small pasta fried fish dinner with 2 drinks(alcoholic). dinner complete at 9.00pm. Also had a antidepressant for sleep. Went the next morning for test around 8.am. Is it possible for my test to be wrong given the previous days gluttony.
Avatar f tn For anyone that finds this in their searches, it turns out that I actually have Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS). Autonomic testing showed a drop in blood pressure after eating which cause these symptoms!
Avatar n tn His blood sugars are NOT fine. A fasting level of 121 mg/dl is prediabetes.
Avatar f tn Anything with carbs is going to spike your blood sugar. If your trying to stabilize blood sugar, I would recommend eating lots of protein and vegetables. As for carbs, choose the healthy carbs or brown rice and more slow digesting carbs. That way your blood sugar won't rise as high or fast. I'm type 1 diabetic and pregnant, so u have been testing blood sugar like crazy for a good amount of my life.
188761 tn?1584567620 According to the web site "Net Wellness Consumer Health Information", when blood sugar levels exceed 180, the kidneys are unable to remove all the sugar from the blood and dump it into the urine. It does not mean there is kidney damage.

304573 tn?1345577338 How are you arriving at this conclusion? Are you home testing your blood glucose, or is this random or fasting lab testing results? How long have you been tracking this?
Avatar f tn my husband was 2yrs post liver transplant, that is the one reason why he is also now suffering from monitor blood sugar problem. my question now is about fluctition of his blood glucose, we have a kit monitoring it before and after meal, but there was time when we check it is high then after just a minute it drop down, we are really worried why is this happening? hoping that anyone could help!
Avatar f tn Be careful with the sugar as this can cause an increase in the blood sugar, but then you risk a bigger drop in your blood sugar level once the insulin reacts to it and can make things worse. I need at least something about every 2 -3 hours. My current fav is Erin Bakker's organic mini-cookies - they have whole grains (take longer to process and break down) and all organic ingrediants. I keep saltines in my car. And crackers and nuts at work.
Avatar n tn You may also use blood sugar results to gauge the effects / benefits of exercise on your blood sugar levels.
1448460 tn?1284694467 Prednisone does tend to raise your blood sugar and you should do what you can to keep it down as much as possible. You did not mention if you are on insulin or pills or just diet control. Considering you are only taking prednisone for a very short time, you shouldn't have too much to worry about. If your blood sugar is at that level for a longer period of time that may bring about some damage. Exercise more, if possible, definitely drink lots more water and really watch your diet.
Avatar n tn We have found that the be4stway to avoid this is by having our daughter check her blood 6-8 times a day. When her blood sugar is over 225 we have her check for ketone thru her urine. If she has ketones we give her extra no carb fluids and contact per endocrinologist on how to adjust her insulin dosage. We do this because sometimes she has ketones due to being ill other times it is a missed bolus from the pump or not enough insulin.
Avatar n tn I tested my blood sugar this morning and it was 105. Would you say this is out of the normal range. I had blood work done about a month ago when I had my annual physical and my sugar level came back at 109. My doctor didn't seem to alarmed.
Avatar n tn i have 3 children with celiac disease. we got in on a celiac study done through the university of california, irvine. we now know that my husband and i and 8 of my 9 children all are DQ2 positive. i don't know why the disease activated in only 3 of my children and no one else---at least not yet. my celiac children are all girls--identical twins that just turned 20 and a 16 year old. they were all diagnosed at the same time 5 1/2 years ago.
Avatar m tn It’s actually part of the mint family, its 100x sweeter than sugar, and has absolutely no effect on your blood sugar levels. You can use it to sweeten your teas and smoothies. I absolutely love this stuff. These minor adjustments can help prevent another candida invasion because if you revert back to a Standard American Diet, candida will come back.
Avatar f tn Anyone else going to refuse the glucose test during the 24-28 weeks? I had it with my first little girl without a lot of information and I've never had issues with blood sugar. My levels have always been normal at 50-80. They gave me the test over 24 hours of not eating with the first and, of course, my blood sugar was high by one point. My daughter and myself never had issues after birth and I've eaten only healthy foods with this pregnancy.
Avatar n tn How can your blood sugar be 255 at bedtime and fall to 40 at 5:30 am?
Avatar n tn Here is some more information on blood glucose ranges and blood sugar testing for you from MedHelp.org and the Sugar Sense app. http://www.medhelp.org/diabetes/articles/Be-Blood-Sugar-Savvy/1777 If you enter enough data over enough days, our app gives you an average A1C -- this is your 3 month average amount of glucose in your blood. It's likely a better measure than the daily averages from your meter, as Mindmaster points out. Here's a little more about the A1C: http://www.medhelp.
Avatar n tn Hmm, sorry but I guess I do not understand. Your post says that the discussion is related to "fasting blood sugar levels high in the morning" but all of your information relates to testing blood after meals. Guess that for me it cannot be both. My Diabetes Nurse's instructions for morning fasting blood test are to test the blood "when you awake, before eating or any medication".
