Common Questions and Answers about Blood sugar monitor watch

blood-sugar

Avatar f tn It really depends if u need insulin or pills, if you cant control your blood sugar then you take pills if your blood sugar is not high. But if normally your fasting numbers are high then thats why they put you on insulin. I have a coworker that went straight to insulin and shes a diabetic now but her numbers were crazy high like in the 500 when she did the glucose test. The doc just prob know that pills wont help you.
1448460 tn?1284694467 Prednisone does tend to raise your blood sugar and you should do what you can to keep it down as much as possible. You did not mention if you are on insulin or pills or just diet control. Considering you are only taking prednisone for a very short time, you shouldn't have too much to worry about. If your blood sugar is at that level for a longer period of time that may bring about some damage. Exercise more, if possible, definitely drink lots more water and really watch your diet.

If things get worse, they may give you safe medication to counteract it and they will, of course, monitor your baby more closely. https://www.mayoclinic.

Avatar f tn I am a type II diabetic and I would like to know what is considered a "good" blood sugar reading for me when I test at different times of the day....before meals, after meals, fasting in the morning, at bedtime and other random times during the day.
Avatar n tn I personally have not heard of a watch that records what is going on. I have a watch that tells me what my beat rate is but that is about it. I know there is some sort of heart monitor pen that came out but to get an accurate diagnosis it is really beneficial to catch the beginning of an episode and any hand held device would not capture that.
Avatar f tn half year post liver transplant, my question now is about his bood sugar, we are trying to monitor it , we have the kit and test sugar before and after meal, but there was time that in just a minute sugar rises and and sometimes went very low. is this normal for or the kit have a problem?

Of course, since I am not supposed to have any sweets, that is all I want :). Anyone else dealing with this?? I am hoping I can control it with diet and that my little one won't grow too big...

Avatar n tn MY PROBLEM IS THAT I AM A 23 YEAR OLD TYPE 1 DIABETIC WHO HAS NOT BEEN TAKING CARE OF HERSELF FOR THE PAST YEAR AND A HALF. I KNOW , SHAME ON ME, IT WAS A STUPID MISTAKE. MY BLOOD SUGAR LEVELS ARE REALLY HIGH, AND I RECENTLY STARTED TAKING INSULIN AGAIN (ABOUT 5 DAYS AGO). IF I AM PREGNANT, I REALLY WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A HEALTHY BABY. I KNOW THAT HIGH BLOOD SUGAR LEVELS ARE VERY DANGEROUS FOR THE BABY, BUT I WANT TO KNOW IF ITS TOO LATE TO START EATING HEALTHIER AND CONTROL THE BLOOD SUGAR.
Avatar f tn I believe elevated blood sugar is a possible side effect, but all you can do is have your doctor monitor your blood sugar closely, as I am sure he will want to do for you. Healthy diet and exercise is recommended for everyone to help ward off diabetes, and especially for those with a family history -- even without taking the Abilify into consideration. I hope it works well for you.
Avatar f tn I already have sever diabeties before i got pregnant so just Try to eat really healthy & Try to avoid alot of sugary foods, Try to get some exersize & drink as much water as possible! You may have to monitor your blood sugar & prick your finger if your doctor wants you to... Your baby should be healthy If you watch it closly...
Avatar f tn All these things greatly influence blood sugar. If you have been unable to get your blood sugar stable at all, these are things you need to work on. I hope your husband gets better soon.
Avatar f tn I am also having trouble with low blood sugar. My blood sugar goes from 44 to 255. I know normal is 80-120 . At the Diabetes clinic they said if mine dropped from 50-70 to take gluclose tabs, 8, but my body is reacting like a normal one. I take 4 at 44 which is life threatening low. I also notice that lately it's dropping after I eat which I don't understand. This discussion is related to Blood sugar drops after eating.
Avatar n tn High blood sugar ur going to have to check ur blood sugar 4 times a day and start eating healthy stuff nothing with sugar or to much sugar I have it too
7791645 tn?1394292401 ll either put u on insulin worse case scenario or they will have u monitor and right down your sugar every time u eat and review it at your appointments. With most women with GD they watch for the growth of ur child because they can become large babies. But all and all its not horrible. The three hour is more accurate u may not even fail so dont worry yet.
Avatar f tn Everything's going pretty normal for me can't complain really .. and yes my Dr said if I haven't had him by 39wks he will induce me .. I was borderline w my first so they couldn't say I had it so I didn't watch my diet or anything when he was born he had extremely low blood sugar and they had to monitor him closely. . Fingers crossed my baby doesn't have that problem this time since I'm being monitored. .
Avatar f tn I have GD and its not bad as long as you can monitor your food in take and sugar in take. If you monitor your diet they wont put you on medicine at first its very hard to monitor it with everything your so use to eating. I cut out ALL of my soda drinking and replaced it with water. That helped a WHOLE lot. You would be surprised how much it changes. I take my sugar 4 times a day! Its aggravating but its not that bad.
Avatar f tn I was recently diagnosed and freaking out about it, but I went to my diabetic counseling class Monday and feel do much better about it. Basically it means your body has a harder time producing insulin to break down the sugar in your blood. If untreated your baby will be bigger, have pancreas and liver problems and worse case scenario be stillborn or die shortly after birth, but like I said, that's the absolutely worse case if gone untreated.
