Avatar f tn All these things greatly influence blood sugar. If you have been unable to get your blood sugar stable at all, these are things you need to work on. I hope your husband gets better soon.
Avatar f tn I am also having trouble with low blood sugar. My blood sugar goes from 44 to 255. I know normal is 80-120 . At the Diabetes clinic they said if mine dropped from 50-70 to take gluclose tabs, 8, but my body is reacting like a normal one. I take 4 at 44 which is life threatening low. I also notice that lately it's dropping after I eat which I don't understand. This discussion is related to Blood sugar drops after eating.
Avatar f tn It really depends if u need insulin or pills, if you cant control your blood sugar then you take pills if your blood sugar is not high. But if normally your fasting numbers are high then thats why they put you on insulin. I have a coworker that went straight to insulin and shes a diabetic now but her numbers were crazy high like in the 500 when she did the glucose test. The doc just prob know that pills wont help you.
Avatar n tn I want to get back to it, but at 10 min on a treadmill at a reasonable walking pace I feel my blood sugar dropping. I have a glucose monitor at it has been about 65. Endrocrinologist has said I am reactive hypoglycemic but has no reasons for it. Without exercising I run about 85-95 very consistently even when I feel like I am "running low". So, I am afraid to exercise and I miss it!!! Any advice would be appreciated.
1509970 tn?1290036714 There appears to be a connection between hepatitis C and problems with the regulation of sugar and subsequent development of diabetes. The liver is responsible for regulating blood sugar levels. It does this by converting the food we eat into substances that the body can use. Carbohydrates and sugars are stored as glycogen in the liver and are released as energy when the bodys energy demands are high. People with end stage liver disease often have difficulty in regulating blood sugar.
Avatar n tn I am experiencing low blood sugar problems with Prozac withdrawal. Has anyone experienced low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) with Prozac withdrawal? If so did it eventually go away and how did you handle it?
798555 tn?1292787551 s tough to use herbs when you have diabetes anyway -- especially Type !. Because you have to monitor your blood sugar, using herbs that lower blood sugar require a lot of monitoring, and if people don't do it they can go too low. As for you, Gym is right, diet is by far the most important factor. It and exercise will determine if you go diabetic or not, not the thyroid. Personally, because you have the Hashimotos, I'd consult a naturopath and a physician who is open to herbs.
452066 tn?1400626877 First of all, I am not a diabetic, but would like to learn more about it and blood sugar levels due to a severe arrhythmia problem I have(also have an implanted defibrillator) and I am tired of talking til I am blue in the face to doctors and I feel there may be a link to either my glucose levels or hormones. I have been seen by 2 endocrinologists and both said I am fine...BUT they have told me that my insulin production is very high but they won't do anything about it.
Tbd Hi. So, a glucose meter using a finger tip prick or a continuous glucose monitor is best for checking blood sugar. Of course, that's after you are diagnosed with diabetes. Prior to that, blood work ordered by your doctor will reveal your sugar levels. https://diabetes.
Avatar n tn Hi, Can I ask what insulins you take? Are you on pump or MDI (multiple daily injections). Is your basal insulin taken once or twice a day. If you are going low from exercise, you may need to decrease your basal (this is easier if you are on a pump). Alternatively you may plan your exercise after eating and inject slightly less than usual insulin for the meal, as the exercise will naturally bring your blood sugars down.
180395 tn?1287493997 Once before breakfast and once before lunch. So I decided to buy a glucose monitor to check to see if maybe low blood sugar was the culprit. Well this morning before I bought it I came to work, had 2 donuts for breakfast (this isnt an everyday thing, someone just decided to be nice and bring some to work this morning) then I had 2 cups of coffee with creamer that contains sugar and on the way to work this morning I had a large cup of sweet tea.
1947337 tn?1331423890 I slept til almost 3 and i had to just force myself to get up and unlock the door for my son. All i could think of was to check my blood sugar (i have a maachine from yrs ago when i had gest diab but have never had any other prob that i know of. Anyway, it was 56 which i think is low so i ate a couple of spoonsful of pb and drank a dr pepper. Waited 45 min and checked it again, it went up to 72. I still don't feel good but better than this morning....
Avatar f tn I have not heard about MS and low blood sugar being related. I do know that there are many people that have MS and diabetes. Still the doctor's say they are not related. I still have the gut feeling that they are related. Please make sure that your doctor is aware of these times of low blood sugar. You don't want to take any chances with your health.
4250330 tn?1388621179 What Can I Eat For Low Blood Sugar I Feel Really Shaky And My Hearts Beating Fast And Everything This Happened Last Time I Thought My Blood Sugar Was Low.. Im 31 Weeks and 6 Days pregnant..
574118 tn?1305135284 I am dreaming that one day they will invent a device to control it, exactly similar to the one monitoring the ammount of sugar in the blood in diabetic people (Melitus) by insulin infusion. Since they like to compare BP to diabetes as a life long disease then why not what applies here applies there. A surplus of sugar destroys as well as less sugar gives coma, etc... same thing for the receptors to inject either AP's when manic and AD's when depressed based on the quantity in the blood.
Avatar n tn It is possible that you have high blood pressure. My now-deceased husband told me that's how he felt before he got treatment for it. Also, it's possible that you have low blood sugar; I have diabetes and if I let my sugar get too low (by not eating regularly), my insides feel really shaky. Another thing to consider is nerves. I have anxiety problems and sometimes feel like this. Hope this helps. At any rate, you should consult your primary care physician. Good luck!
