Avatar n tn I tested my blood sugar this morning and it was 105. Would you say this is out of the normal range. I had blood work done about a month ago when I had my annual physical and my sugar level came back at 109. My doctor didn't seem to alarmed.

Avatar f tn All these things greatly influence blood sugar. If you have been unable to get your blood sugar stable at all, these are things you need to work on. I hope your husband gets better soon.
Avatar f tn I am also having trouble with low blood sugar. My blood sugar goes from 44 to 255. I know normal is 80-120 . At the Diabetes clinic they said if mine dropped from 50-70 to take gluclose tabs, 8, but my body is reacting like a normal one. I take 4 at 44 which is life threatening low. I also notice that lately it's dropping after I eat which I don't understand. This discussion is related to Blood sugar drops after eating.
Avatar f tn It really depends if u need insulin or pills, if you cant control your blood sugar then you take pills if your blood sugar is not high. But if normally your fasting numbers are high then thats why they put you on insulin. I have a coworker that went straight to insulin and shes a diabetic now but her numbers were crazy high like in the 500 when she did the glucose test. The doc just prob know that pills wont help you.
Avatar f tn If you find you have a high sugar level in the normal range or low high blood sugar, check into chromium picolinate and/or cinnamon supplementation. Also be aware that new research says that mothers with high normal glucose readings have babies at higher risk for problems than mothers with diabetes who manage their blood sugar.
Avatar n tn s endocronologist said that sometimes adrenaline can make your blood sugar rise. Maybe you could do some research on adrenaline and blood sugars rising. I had never heard of this before, but it makes sense. I am thinking that being a firefighter would take alot of adrenaline and would be stressful too. Stress makes my blood sugars rise very high too.
Avatar n tn I am experiencing low blood sugar problems with Prozac withdrawal. Has anyone experienced low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) with Prozac withdrawal? If so did it eventually go away and how did you handle it?
10374491 tn?1441916101 A blood sugar monitor only gives the blood sugar that is present in the blood at the time it is done. An HbA1C blood test gives the average blood glucose that is present in the blood over a period of 9-12 weeks. The glucose sticks to the red corpuscles and these are renewed every 9-12 weeks. The doctor is the best person to give advice whether to use a home blood glucose monitor. My doctor will not prescribe a home monitor for me because my HbA1C levels are well managed.
452066 tn?1400626877 First of all, I am not a diabetic, but would like to learn more about it and blood sugar levels due to a severe arrhythmia problem I have(also have an implanted defibrillator) and I am tired of talking til I am blue in the face to doctors and I feel there may be a link to either my glucose levels or hormones. I have been seen by 2 endocrinologists and both said I am fine...BUT they have told me that my insulin production is very high but they won't do anything about it.
Tbd Hi. So, a glucose meter using a finger tip prick or a continuous glucose monitor is best for checking blood sugar. Of course, that's after you are diagnosed with diabetes. Prior to that, blood work ordered by your doctor will reveal your sugar levels. https://diabetes.
Avatar n tn If blood sugar elevates due to stressors as in General Adaptation Syndrome (Hans Selye), how high will it go and how fast is the reaction? For example, what is the chance of an elevated BS in a clinical setting when the patient is uncomfortable in the doctor's office or lab?
Avatar f tn Be sure that you follow the diet that they give you as the side effects of high blood sugar can adversely affect your baby. It can make your baby too big or in rare cases of uncontrolled blood sugar can cause death of baby in the last two months of gestation.
Avatar n tn Hi, Can I ask what insulins you take? Are you on pump or MDI (multiple daily injections). Is your basal insulin taken once or twice a day. If you are going low from exercise, you may need to decrease your basal (this is easier if you are on a pump). Alternatively you may plan your exercise after eating and inject slightly less than usual insulin for the meal, as the exercise will naturally bring your blood sugars down.
180395 tn?1287493997 Once before breakfast and once before lunch. So I decided to buy a glucose monitor to check to see if maybe low blood sugar was the culprit. Well this morning before I bought it I came to work, had 2 donuts for breakfast (this isnt an everyday thing, someone just decided to be nice and bring some to work this morning) then I had 2 cups of coffee with creamer that contains sugar and on the way to work this morning I had a large cup of sweet tea.
5536886 tn?1455827346 You have a serious condition that requires you to monitor everything you eat, inject insulin, and monitor blood sugar frequently. Further, if you follow the traditional approach for diabetes management, which is high carb and low fat, your blood sugar will be swinging high and low every day, even with your best efforts. If you are unlucky you will then develop complications from the high and swinging blood sugars, and the problems go on.
1947337 tn?1331423890 I slept til almost 3 and i had to just force myself to get up and unlock the door for my son. All i could think of was to check my blood sugar (i have a maachine from yrs ago when i had gest diab but have never had any other prob that i know of. Avatar m tn I found positive comments by you on the previous posts and would appreciate any comments on this or any other possibilities. I see a retinal surgeon and a new eye MD for monitor of my conditions, but will eventually have to deal with thedeveloping cataract in my remaining eye.
574118 tn?1305135284 I am dreaming that one day they will invent a device to control it, exactly similar to the one monitoring the ammount of sugar in the blood in diabetic people (Melitus) by insulin infusion. Since they like to compare BP to diabetes as a life long disease then why not what applies here applies there. A surplus of sugar destroys as well as less sugar gives coma, etc... same thing for the receptors to inject either AP's when manic and AD's when depressed based on the quantity in the blood.
