Avatar f tn I am also having trouble with low blood sugar. My blood sugar goes from 44 to 255. I know normal is 80-120 . At the Diabetes clinic they said if mine dropped from 50-70 to take gluclose tabs, 8, but my body is reacting like a normal one. I take 4 at 44 which is life threatening low. I also notice that lately it's dropping after I eat which I don't understand. This discussion is related to Blood sugar drops after eating.

7543158 tn?1391978069 That little test he does apparently keeps showing an average blood sugar of 130 when I know that to be untrue. I have a glucometer and check my sugar regularly throughout the day. I've even shown him my meter's log and he still won't believe me about my spikes and crashes. He believes I'm just overly worried and that it's all in my head. What do I do?
Avatar f tn d probably get it checked in another 6 months to see where you are at. This article may help you understand how blood sugar can fluctuate and when it is normal. https://www.mayoclinic.

180395 tn?1287493997 Once before breakfast and once before lunch. So I decided to buy a glucose monitor to check to see if maybe low blood sugar was the culprit. Well this morning before I bought it I came to work, had 2 donuts for breakfast (this isnt an everyday thing, someone just decided to be nice and bring some to work this morning) then I had 2 cups of coffee with creamer that contains sugar and on the way to work this morning I had a large cup of sweet tea.

Avatar f tn half year post liver transplant, my question now is about his bood sugar, we are trying to monitor it , we have the kit and test sugar before and after meal, but there was time that in just a minute sugar rises and and sometimes went very low. is this normal for or the kit have a problem?
Avatar m tn I am not sure. I said on other posts that I thought it might have been novocaine, but there are many other numbing agents out there. I didn't follow through on this, I just accepted the explanation given me by the dental professionals that I spoke to. It could be that I just have a reaction that other diabetics don't have. At any rate, after the injection they knew that I had gone into hypoglycemia and, they knew what to do.
1947337 tn?1331423890 I slept til almost 3 and i had to just force myself to get up and unlock the door for my son. All i could think of was to check my blood sugar (i have a maachine from yrs ago when i had gest diab but have never had any other prob that i know of. Anyway, it was 56 which i think is low so i ate a couple of spoonsful of pb and drank a dr pepper. Waited 45 min and checked it again, it went up to 72. I still don't feel good but better than this morning....
Avatar f tn All these things greatly influence blood sugar. If you have been unable to get your blood sugar stable at all, these are things you need to work on. I hope your husband gets better soon.
Avatar n tn The nurse wants me to come in to do a continous blood sugar monitor on her to see but I was wondering if anyone has experienced this. Any help I can get I would appreciate.
Avatar f tn It really depends if u need insulin or pills, if you cant control your blood sugar then you take pills if your blood sugar is not high. But if normally your fasting numbers are high then thats why they put you on insulin. I have a coworker that went straight to insulin and shes a diabetic now but her numbers were crazy high like in the 500 when she did the glucose test. The doc just prob know that pills wont help you.
Avatar n tn My daughter ( 7 yrs old) had her blood sugar tested at a dr appointment yesterday. It was taken about 4 hours after eating. It came back at 133. The dr wants to do a fasting check on her. Are her levels high?
974371 tn?1424653129 on their monitor). Check your blood sugar 2 hours after eating a normal meal. If your blood sugar is near or over 140 then you are considered "high" and you should make an appt with your MD. If it is over 200 two hours after eating, then I would go to an urgent care center because you might be in danger of developing ketoacidosis if your condition remains untreated.
12476392 tn?1433685731 t so right now I have seen a dietitian and following a meal plan and testing my sugar 4 times a day with a glucose monitor you just have to monitor not only your sugar intake but your carbs since carbs turn into sugar but you may not have to go through all this is your four hour comes back okay I'm 27 weeks almost 28 weeks so I have to do this for a while but if you keep your levels in normal range you won't have to go on insulin or medication and the baby is less at risk.
Avatar f tn You're sugar is possibly too low. Every time I have ever had any experience like this was because my sugar dropped. Check you're sugar before you sleep so you can monitor it also keep some crackers or nuts by the bed.
Avatar m tn like lightheadedness after meals, not being able to stand still, heart palpations and being heat intolerant, dizziness and chest tightness and being tired plus headaches and a lack of appetite and nausea a lot with some tunnel vision or glared vision(things seem too bright). My doctor recommend that I monitor my blood glucose whenever I experience these symptoms.
Avatar f tn s another flipping test! I failed the first one hour blood sugar test and passed the first three hour blood sugar test. Today I've failed the second one hour blood sugar test and they are pressuring me to do the second three hour sugar test (which is horrible!!!) Seriously?! I've got 10 more weeks to go and it's so muggy here and I'm so nauseated again and they gotta make me sit in some crappy waiting room for three hours trying not to vomit up this sugar drink or crap my pants!
Avatar f tn m wondering if my heart issues could have anything to do with blood sugar levels (or anything related) that could have been caused by any of the meds that I've taken this past year. I also thought of something that I think may be relevant: Back in March 2019, I started to take Abilify to treat PTSD, but then in May 2019 I immediately switched to Risperidone since I didn't find the Abilify to be helpful and it made me extremely bored.
Avatar m tn so i have a blood pressure monitor at my house and i check it literally like 5 times a day yes i know crazy right??? and if its low then i worry and worry i have a blood sugar monitor and im not even diabetic but when i feel like im light headed or something i check it and its always normal.... and i always fear that im going to die or die in my sleep or something and i just always feel like im really lighted headed and goign to faint or something terrible is going to happen to me...
Avatar n tn I am experiencing low blood sugar problems with Prozac withdrawal. Has anyone experienced low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) with Prozac withdrawal? If so did it eventually go away and how did you handle it?
Avatar m tn I dont know, why dont you test your Blood sugar BG when you feel that way, then you will know if its high BG or not
Avatar m tn I do think that continued high blood pressure can cause kidney problems. You've had this going on for quite awhile now so it's time to do something about it. Most Drs will do nothing if ***'s below 139/89, because it's pre hypertension and they want you to try and control with it with less stress, diet and exercise. But 160/100 is hypertension. Solace gives you great advice. Get more reading so they can take an average.
Avatar n tn You can also get an irregular heartbeat from low blood sugar. I don't know if a high pulse is part of this as well. So, I would get the fasting blood sugar drawn and they may have you eat or have a glucose solution and wait two hours and see if your blood sugar drops too low or they can check your hemoglobin A1C which can also determine if you have diabetes or low blood sugar. hemoglobin A1C is becoming more popular. I tend to like to stick to the well known blood sugar test.
Avatar f tn That's what I was thinking as I was reading your post, low blood sugar. I kept getting really bad headaches, nausea and dizziness when I did'nt eat so I used my step dads blood sugar monitor one day when this was happening and my sugar was very low. Eating when I should keeps these symptoms away. You need to see your Dr. Can you call and ask if you can stop in when your having these symptoms? I'm asking this because they can check your sugar right then to see if it's low.
