Avatar f tn I had that happen at about 27 weeks. Dr wasn't worried because I passed the blood test 2 weeks prior but planned to monitor. Next appt at 29 weeks was fine.
Avatar f tn I have to check my blood sugar 4 times daily and monitor what I eat...
Avatar f tn All these things greatly influence blood sugar. If you have been unable to get your blood sugar stable at all, these are things you need to work on. I hope your husband gets better soon.
Avatar f tn I am also having trouble with low blood sugar. My blood sugar goes from 44 to 255. I know normal is 80-120 . At the Diabetes clinic they said if mine dropped from 50-70 to take gluclose tabs, 8, but my body is reacting like a normal one. I take 4 at 44 which is life threatening low. I also notice that lately it's dropping after I eat which I don't understand. This discussion is related to Blood sugar drops after eating.
Avatar m tn HI 48 year old male, 5 feet 8 inches. 164 lbs. Recently had blood test , Blood sugar came back 128m/dl. Doctor has not recommended any medicines . He suggested to exercise and control the diet. Day before the test had a pasta lunch with cola and small pasta fried fish dinner with 2 drinks(alcoholic). dinner complete at 9.00pm. Also had a antidepressant for sleep. Went the next morning for test around 8.am. Is it possible for my test to be wrong given the previous days gluttony.
Avatar f tn It really depends if u need insulin or pills, if you cant control your blood sugar then you take pills if your blood sugar is not high. But if normally your fasting numbers are high then thats why they put you on insulin. I have a coworker that went straight to insulin and shes a diabetic now but her numbers were crazy high like in the 500 when she did the glucose test. The doc just prob know that pills wont help you.
Avatar m tn org/cut-risk-high-blood-sugar-youre-pregnant/ They will likely ask you to make these lifestyle changes (even giving you specific food guidelines) and they may ask you to monitor your blood sugar. If things get worse, they may give you safe medication to counteract it and they will, of course, monitor your baby more closely. https://www.mayoclinic.

574118 tn?1305135284 my sister a year ago went wrong, perhaps stress, perhaps something elset. It all started with the pulse high 95 with feelings of heat in the head (but temperature normal) then aches in her face bones. she then felt the pulses in her whole body, neck, the back, even in the legs toes a kind of earthquake in the whole body. she consulted a general medicine and heart specialist who excluded anemia after blood test and said it's tacycardia gave have 0.25 xanax.
Avatar f tn I was recently diagnosed and freaking out about it, but I went to my diabetic counseling class Monday and feel do much better about it. Basically it means your body has a harder time producing insulin to break down the sugar in your blood. If untreated your baby will be bigger, have pancreas and liver problems and worse case scenario be stillborn or die shortly after birth, but like I said, that's the absolutely worse case if gone untreated.
Avatar m tn like lightheadedness after meals, not being able to stand still, heart palpations and being heat intolerant, dizziness and chest tightness and being tired plus headaches and a lack of appetite and nausea a lot with some tunnel vision or glared vision(things seem too bright). My doctor recommend that I monitor my blood glucose whenever I experience these symptoms.
Avatar n tn The dr had me get a blood glucose monitor and we are trying to capture one of these episodes and see how it corresponds to his blood sugar. Before I knew to check his blood sugar he had another one of these incidences, he got up, I recorded his pulse every 10 minutes until he recovered (about 30) minutes, he went back to sleep and some time in the next few hours he became incontinent again.
Avatar n tn When I wake up my blood sugars are in the mid 50s. After breakfast they hover around 76 or 82. They rarely ever go above 86 ever. Once a day they may hit 115 if I eat bread ..stay there briefly to go back down to the 70s. I am not on a specialty diet nor do I do keto. I usually eat a lot of fruit and seafood. Once average my glucose monitor tells me my daily averages are around 75. What do you think I have? Am I in a pre-diabetic state and my panaceas is just pumping out insulin?
Avatar f tn I have GD and its not bad as long as you can monitor your food in take and sugar in take. If you monitor your diet they wont put you on medicine at first its very hard to monitor it with everything your so use to eating. I cut out ALL of my soda drinking and replaced it with water. That helped a WHOLE lot. You would be surprised how much it changes. I take my sugar 4 times a day! Its aggravating but its not that bad.
10374491 tn?1441916101 A blood sugar monitor only gives the blood sugar that is present in the blood at the time it is done. An HbA1C blood test gives the average blood glucose that is present in the blood over a period of 9-12 weeks. The glucose sticks to the red corpuscles and these are renewed every 9-12 weeks. The doctor is the best person to give advice whether to use a home blood glucose monitor. My doctor will not prescribe a home monitor for me because my HbA1C levels are well managed.
Dog If you were my patient, I would advise you that Metformin typically does not drop blood sugar. If you are on a combination of medications, it could be that the combination was responsible for the drop, OR that your lack of eating caused the sugar level to dip. It will be important to report all of you sugar levels to your doctor, but I would not recommend stopping or changing medications. Good luck!
Avatar f tn You could be getting hypoglycemic (low sugar in your blood). I would address this with your primary care physician. Adjusting your diet may be all that you need to do. Try taking some candy around the time your symptoms start and see if that helps. If low blood sugar isn't the case, I would suggest wearing a holter monitor to try to capture what your heart is doing during these episodes. This would be done to rule arrhythmia, very fast or very slow heart rates.
452066 tn?1400626877 First of all, I am not a diabetic, but would like to learn more about it and blood sugar levels due to a severe arrhythmia problem I have(also have an implanted defibrillator) and I am tired of talking til I am blue in the face to doctors and I feel there may be a link to either my glucose levels or hormones. I have been seen by 2 endocrinologists and both said I am fine...BUT they have told me that my insulin production is very high but they won't do anything about it.
Tbd Hi. So, a glucose meter using a finger tip prick or a continuous glucose monitor is best for checking blood sugar. Of course, that's after you are diagnosed with diabetes. Prior to that, blood work ordered by your doctor will reveal your sugar levels. https://diabetes.
Avatar n tn Hi, Can I ask what insulins you take? Are you on pump or MDI (multiple daily injections). Is your basal insulin taken once or twice a day. If you are going low from exercise, you may need to decrease your basal (this is easier if you are on a pump). Alternatively you may plan your exercise after eating and inject slightly less than usual insulin for the meal, as the exercise will naturally bring your blood sugars down.
Avatar m tn Get more reading so they can take an average. Also, with the frequent urination you might want to have your blood sugar checked along with kidney function.
