At dinner I ate lasagna, salad, sweet tea. Anyway 30-45 minutes after dinner, my blood sugar was 118. Is this normal or does it seem kind of high? At the doctor last year fasting it was 91. Also, I have been suffereing from severe fatigue after my long runs and have to basically sit down for the rest of the day which I hate. I am going to start to check my blood sugar after these runs to see what it is. I eat alot after the long runs but it does not seem to help.

i am not diabetic but for some reason, for the.oast couple weeks i have been monitoring my blood sugar and its all over the place. the highest ive noticed was 281 after a big dinner and 2 minutes later it drops down to 113. any other ones are like, 232, 158 but i dont feel anything weird in my body at all. but my blood sugar when i woke up yesterday morning was 97 that was before breakfast. pls if u know anything about this, give an advice on wut to do.

HI 48 year old male, 5 feet 8 inches. 164 lbs. Recently had blood test , Blood sugar came back 128m/dl. Doctor has not recommended any medicines . He suggested to exercise and control the diet. Day before the test had a pasta lunch with cola and small pasta fried fish dinner with 2 drinks(alcoholic). dinner complete at 9.00pm. Also had a antidepressant for sleep. Go get a blood test done for glucose (sugar) levels. You may just have hypoglycemia. This is the opposite of Diabetes. It means your sugar levels are two low and can cause the symptoms you described. Diabetics experience the same symptoms only because they inject insulin to lower their sugar levels.

In general, if your blood sugar level is below 100 mg / dL after fasting for at least 8 to 10 hours, then your blood sugar is normal. Blood sugar levels are usually lowest before each meal.

It is also possible to have elevated blood sugar if you fast for a longer than usual period. It is good that your subsequent tests were ok. Anyway, use this as your motivation to stay healthy. Minimize sugar and processed foods, exercise. A regular check of blood sugars every once in a while (and certainly every 6 months) is a good practice so you can monitor yourself over time.

At 72, I've never had any doctor address anything regarding an elevated blood sugar level from bloodwork done every 6 months! I had an episode like yours around 20wks and a blood test revealed my iron levels were really low compared to the begining of the pregnancy. It didn't come back up to normal levels even with just one 324mg pill per day, and I am on 2 per day now on top of my regular pre natals. All those dizzy spells I had went away after started taking iron pills. May be talk to your doctor about it.

When I had my test they drew blood first then gave me drink and an hour later drew more blood and then finally another hour later they drew more blood!

I failed both the 1 and 3 hour tests. I have to check my blood sugar levels 4 times a day and was on a low carb diet. I was allowed 30 grams for snacks and 45 grams for meals. It was really hard keeping track of it! You can still have ice cream but that has to be your complete snack and only 1/2 a cup. :) I checked my levels for 2 weeks everyday and never had it be too high so my dr told me I can just check every other day and will be fine.

Just relax lol all I can offer. Docs told me to eat before but everyone I know ate before the test failed the first 1hr test and had to take the 3hr test. I didn't eat, because moms recommended and sure enough I passed, but if its too late for that then just relax. Everything will be fine. And the drink, at least mines, wasn't bad. It tasted like a hi-c orange drink.
