Common Questions and Answers about Blood sugar drop baby

blood-sugar

Avatar f tn Hypoglycemia/ low blood sugar would be considered blood sugar levels less than about 70. Your result of 103 is normal, not hypoglycemia. It is likely that your symptoms may be from other causes. Sometimes headaches can be a sign of not drinking enough - so a glass of water and a few minutes to relax / be quiet - may help a lot. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn For anyone that finds this in their searches, it turns out that I actually have Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS). Autonomic testing showed a drop in blood pressure after eating which cause these symptoms!
Avatar n tn My blood sugar is very high. I was taking Medformin but it started to give trouble. My blood sugar is higher before i eat then it is 20 minutes after. today it was 482 before and 299 after?

Avatar f tn I am a diabetic and my doctor told me that if my blood sugar drop below 65 I should take agreed emergency actions which could include an emergency room visit, ingestion of a sweet drink like a cola or quick disolving glucose tablets and continued monitoring of my glucose level.. I am not advising you to do what I do--I am saying see your doctor or PA. Thats what my provider told me, Again---You need to get specific giudance from your diabetes health care providers.
Avatar n tn Has anyone had a low blood sugar level during pregnancy im 8wks & 2days and i swaer im going to drop to the floor im not due back to my doctors till i am 12 wks.
246464 tn?1249452147 Also suggest you carry glucose tablets or hard candies [not sugar free] with you in case a crash occurs. Eat one to elevate your blood sugar rapidly. Dropping below 60 is dangerous, down to 34 is life threatening.
Avatar n tn s endocronologist said that sometimes adrenaline can make your blood sugar rise. Maybe you could do some research on adrenaline and blood sugars rising. I had never heard of this before, but it makes sense. I am thinking that being a firefighter would take alot of adrenaline and would be stressful too. Stress makes my blood sugars rise very high too.
Avatar f tn Actually with low blood sugar the best thing is an increase in protien. I keep a block of cheese on hand and if mine starts to drop then I slice off a piece and lay down with some water a few mins and it clears up. I have dealt with low blood sugar in all 3 pregnancies now but was not diabetic...oh and my dr suggested powerade or Gatorade to help keep then stable.
Avatar n tn Why is it that my blood sugar is higher in the morning than it was prior to going to bed the night before? For example: At night it may read 115 (this is approx. 4 hours after dinner, and no snacking). THEN - first thing in the morning, before I've had anything to eat it reads 135. After having breakfast, right before lunch time it may be 85-90. Thanks for your feedback.
1192309 tn?1264801232 How fast should blood sugar levels come down with strict adherence to low-sugar, low-carb foods? My situation: I am greatly encouraged; my level has gone from 402 a little over two weeks ago to 105 this afternoon. Numbers are mid 120's and 115 or so prior to suppertime.
Avatar n tn To add to Super_sally888, eating foods that contain white sugar, corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup or refined carbohydrates can cause your sugar levels to spike and then suddenly drop as if you have hypoglycemia. This sudden drop in blood sugar levels is due to your pancreas releasing too much insulin to counteract the sudden high blood sugar levels that occurred from eating the aforementioned food types.
Avatar f tn My blood sugar is 78, feeling cold and jittery and wondering if that is too high of a number to be causing it. Since last Thursday I have been unable to eat much, and what I do eat has been immediately removed (diarrhea). I was diabetic in my last pregnancy and still needing to lose weight so I have been checking my sugars just to see if maybe that is why I feeling so low right now. Thanks for the help.
Avatar n tn Today about 20 minutes after my lunch I started sweating, feeling weak, heart racing, etc. I checked my blood sugar and it was 71 after eating a chicken salad, salad. I checked it before eating and it was 77 so why would it go down after eating a salad and a few wheat crackers? 71 is normal but again I felt horrible, weak, shaky, anxiety, etc. Could this be something other than Hypoglycemia? Before I had lunch I ran 2.5 miles on the treatmill and felt fine so this is beginning to puzzle me.
Avatar n tn The more you exercise the healthier you will be. Burn off some calories and your blood sugar will drop a bit as well. Drink plenty of water. Give your body every chance you can to be a healthy body...it's the only one you have! Good luck!
Avatar f tn When was the last time you ate? I've started to get it whenever I go too long inbetween meals. Something about low sugar. Try having something and if it doesn't help you could call a doctor and ask what they think.
Avatar m tn How has your blood sugar been since your last post? I hope you have been able to it is down even further.
Avatar f tn Various things can lead to low blood sugars. If you go without eating for a period of time, your blood sugar can drop, or if you exercise strenuously (especially if you do both in combination). If you are on insulin than taking too much insulin for the carbs you are eating can definitely cause low blood sugars and these can be the more dangerous kind because you can drop very rapidly. If you are getting frequent lows, talk to your doctor.
Avatar n tn My DW has been diagnosed with GD about a month ago. She is taking insulin shots to keep sugar low. Here is what we learned about sugar and its effect on mom and baby. How do high blood sugar levels cause problems? When extra sugar is in your blood, the baby is "fed" extra sugar, too. All this excess sugar can make the baby too big and fat. Delivery of big babies is harder on mom and baby. Because your baby is getting extra sugar, your baby's pancreas makes extra insulin.
11587059 tn?1427628263 Yeah I had it during my first trimester but not this bad. But I have other things going on too. Like fainting, dizziness, headaches, rapid heart, diarrhea, of course vomiting, etc. So that's why I thought maybe it's my blood sugar. Can it drop really low randomly?? If so does it go back fast?
Avatar f tn There should be guidelines as to what your blood sugar should be when you are fasting, so make sure you adhere to that. As long as you blood sugar is well controlled overall (evidence by your blood glucose sticks) you should be fine. Your provider will also draw blood (HbA1c) at some visits to make sure your sugar levels are well controlled. If you experience dizziness or you still get tired it means your blood sugar is low.
7543158 tn?1391978069 That little test he does apparently keeps showing an average blood sugar of 130 when I know that to be untrue. I have a glucometer and check my sugar regularly throughout the day. I've even shown him my meter's log and he still won't believe me about my spikes and crashes. He believes I'm just overly worried and that it's all in my head. What do I do?
Avatar f tn I had this very early in my pregnancy and had to change what and how I eat. Certain foods can cause your blood sugar to spike up and then drop very quickly. I can't eat cake or even toast in the morning cause it will do it to me. Try staying away from sugary and breads early in morning or just one peice of wheat toast instead of two peices and eating more often. Have you had your sugar test yet?
Avatar m tn blood sugar 137 before exercising. After 15 minutes light-to-moderate exercise, it was 85. One time I felt particularly shaky, and it was 65. I didn't test before, but I felt "normal". What's worse is that I am getting these drops from even minimal physical activity. As an example: blood sugar 110, after walking at a slow pace (strolling) for a mere 10 minutes, I start to feel a little shaky and my sugar is 78.
