Avatar n tn Now I do daily treadmill walking exercises plus some weight training in the gym and find that after 1.5 hour of exercising my sugar goes up 50-80 points. The finally abates to normal levels after 5-6 hours. Can you please tell me why.
Avatar f tn Hi am in 31 weeks for my second baby. Random blood sugar level is 161. Is it okay? Or it causes any problem? Also Hb is 9. Please suggest. Am worried so much.
Avatar f tn What you are experiencing is called reactive hypoglycemia [or alimentary hypoglycemia] which is low glucose that occurs after a meal — usually one to three hours after eating. What also can be happening is a carb crash caused by eating mashed potatoes and buger bun [white bread]. Eating a meal laden with high carbs can cause your pancreas to kick into overdrive to produce insulin to counteract the onset of sugar from the foods you just consumed. That rush of insulin now creates a yo-yo effect.
Avatar n tn In general, if your blood sugar level is below 100 mg / dL after fasting for at least 8 to 10 hours, then your blood sugar is normal. Blood sugar levels are usually lowest before each meal.
Avatar f tn After the second time my doc made me do post gravidium, where I fast for 8 hours, then go in get my blood drawn. Go home and eat. Come back 2 hours later and have my blood taken again. Mine came out normal.
Avatar m tn Check if it can raise your blood sugar levels. Some high blood pressure medicine can raise the sugar levels. Know your body. It is the inly one you will have.
Avatar n tn Sugar lifts up your blood sugar level temporarily and then it crashes, to less than it was before you ate the sweet thing. If you are eating a lot of sweets, you'll definitely experience this. Try for some snacks that have protein and more complex carbs in them, they last longer.
Avatar m tn Testing times should be fasting and then 2 hours after eating. By doing this you will also learn which foods make your blood sugars high (and you can then avoid them). if your blood sugars stay high even with lifestyle measures then medications (oral such as metformin, or injected insulin if your sugars were very high) would be recommended. Avatar m tn m unclear exactly what you are asking. You tested your blood sugar 3 hours after you ate? Or you ate for three hours and then tested? Have you been diagnosed with diabetes? Here is a general article regarding when and how to test for blood sugar that may help you: https://www.webmd.com/diabetes/guide/how-test-blood-glucose#1 Here is some information also about normal sugar levels. 112 is higher than what it should be so please consult your doctor if this continues. http://diabetes.
233552 tn?1228319699 I went to the doc today and he gave me my results....my blood sugar is 217. I knew that this would happen again but I wanted it to wait another month or two. My doc is going to put me on a diet after this weekend. I told him that you can't put a pregnant woman on a diet and he laughed right along with me. Then he said oh yes I can. Silly doctors. Baby's heartbeat still in the 160's and get U/S next month to find out what I'm having and I can't wait.
Avatar f tn For anyone that finds this in their searches, it turns out that I actually have Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS). Autonomic testing showed a drop in blood pressure after eating which cause these symptoms!
Avatar f tn They take your blood when you get there then you drink the drink and after 1 hour they take your blood, and again at 2 hours and at 3 hours.
Avatar n tn I totally agree with the advice that has been given to you. Most articles that discuss normal ranges of blood sugar for people who are not diabetic list the range of "normal" as being between about 70-140. I believe that some doctors consider a blood sugar higher than about 150 after a meal as diabetic. So your son's sugar levels in the 200's do warrant some tests. We wish you the best.
Avatar f tn I have mine blood sugar test in 2 days. I'm so nervous. Any suggestions ...
Avatar f tn d probably get it checked in another 6 months to see where you are at. This article may help you understand how blood sugar can fluctuate and when it is normal. https://www.mayoclinic.
Avatar f tn Hypoglycemia/ low blood sugar would be considered blood sugar levels less than about 70. Your result of 103 is normal, not hypoglycemia. It is likely that your symptoms may be from other causes. Sometimes headaches can be a sign of not drinking enough - so a glass of water and a few minutes to relax / be quiet - may help a lot. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn You should check two hours after eating for a more reliable indication of diabetes or blood sugar problems, before a meal you should be between 70-99 and two hours after you should be 140 or below.
Avatar f tn It really depends if u need insulin or pills, if you cant control your blood sugar then you take pills if your blood sugar is not high. But if normally your fasting numbers are high then thats why they put you on insulin. I have a coworker that went straight to insulin and shes a diabetic now but her numbers were crazy high like in the 500 when she did the glucose test. The doc just prob know that pills wont help you.
Avatar n tn You should wait 2 hours after the end of a meal to check blood sugars. Have you checked his fasting blood sugar which is the blood sugar when he first wakes up in the morning. What does that say. I know you have lots of questions and I hope you get some answers soon.
Avatar f tn Oh... They draw your blood, then draw your blood again in an hour then again in another hour if you're doing the two hour. If it's a three hour test then one mere draw after another hour. You get your blood drawn, then sit and wait... No drinking anything but water, no chewing gum, no eating a mint and my fave they remind you of is no smoking haha duh I'm pregnant I'm not gonna smoke! Then you're done.
