- Patients should carry a copy of their medical records (including their diagnosis,
list of medications being taken, medical history, and a copy
of their latest EKG). Consider wearing a medical ID bracelet.
- Obtain a doctor's note giving the patient permission to fly.
- Notify the airline ahead of time to ensure they have staff available to assist with boarding. Request in-flight oxygen if needed.
- Carry along plenty of medication, water, and food in case there are flight delays.
