1154802 tn?1266485720 What is the normal range for blood glucose fasting, 1 hour after eating and 2 hours after eating? I think mine might be a bit high...
Avatar n tn the normal range is 70-110
Avatar n tn If the person is tightly controlled and keeps glucose levels normal most of the time, the urine composition is going to be different from a non-controlled diabetic whose glucose is high or low as a general rule. Type 1 diabetes simply means that the pancreas doesn't function properly -- other effects on the body depend on how carefully that person keeps his or her glucose levels in the normal range.
Avatar m tn I recently had a fasting glucose test and it showed my blood sugar was 142.. which is basically the diabetic range, I redid the test the next week and I dropped back down to 118 the prediabetic range. I've never spiked to the diabetic range until that day. Could lack of sleep and stress maybe have spiked the glucose that high?
514349 tn?1272801633 you should give the values on these tests. example for blood glucose you need to have certain values or range that can help doctor assess if your pre diabetic or diabetic or needs additional test.
Avatar n tn I was just tested for diabetes which I am and have been every six months for my whole adult life. THIS time I "failed the test" as the nurse put it. My A1C was 6.2 and I see that less than 6 is "non-diabetic". My blood sugar started out 136 at the beginning of the three hour test and ended up 127 after the test. I made the mistake of having a later evening Mexican dinner complete with the fried ice cream desert (shared with my husband) which I don't normally do....
649848 tn?1534633700 The last time it was measured blood glucose was 125, with insulin at 8.1. Blood glucose was considered to be in pre-diabetic range, while insulin level was considered to be normal. Now that I've had the GTT, my doctor says instead of pre-diabetes, I have Reactive Hypoglycemia...
9470507 tn?1404220799 Back on 6/5 in office blood tests showed non fasting Glucose levels at 56 (range 65-99), lab results from 6/26 Hemoglobin A1c 5.5 (range 4.8-5.6). Glucose meter results (need to get better at taking these) 7/12 FG 106 7/13 FG 77 PP 92 7/14 FG 72 PP 81 7/15 FG 71 PP 109 7/16 FG 113 I'm keeping a log of this encase I need to show them to my doctor. Should I bring these up to him on my next visit?
Avatar n tn My question is, are these goals reflecting what normal blood sugars should be for a non-diabetic, or are they blood sugars in a range that a diabetic should be able to attain, yet not quite at the non-diabetic level? I just want to know if I am being challenged at a normal level, or given goals that still allow the baby to float in sugar, just not as bad.
490398 tn?1319940717 This is NOT a fasting glucose. My dad is diabetic and he has all of the tools to test blood. He has regular diabetes not Type 2 but it usually skips a generation. I had blood taken at the doctor last week, again, not fasting, for other health problems and it came back at 169. My doc obviously wants to retest me when I've been fasting and get an A1c.
Avatar f tn I went to the emergencyroom back in march. They did blood tests and my glucose was 104 which they considered high(normal being up to 99) They never said anything to me about this and as far as I know, I have never had this before. I had to go to the emergency room again last month and again, they did blood work. My glucose level was only 88. I am just wondering if I should be looking into this. Could I be diabetic? They never said anything about the high level.
Avatar n tn I have read that after meals, glucose levels can go up to about 146 before a person is considered in the diabetic range. So your glucose readings thus far sound like they would be considered in the normal range of values except for the on at 61. As a diabetic, I know that I can actually start to feel bad when glucose is in the lower 70's even though 70 is considered the lowest level of normal.
Avatar n tn s very simply, a 5th grader can conclude the same thing as I did. Why? Because a non diabetic reading is almost always less then 120, even 1 hr. after meal. to end this anxiety over being a diabetic or not, the esiest way is to buy a self-test kit called A1C Now, made by Bayer, at Walmart for $23USD, follow instruction, then within 5-10 minutes, voila , here is your A1c reading if your A1c is between 5.6% to 6.4%,then according to the US Health Dept you are a pre-diabetic and so on...Good luck.
Avatar n tn There are several tests that they can do that are simple that can tell if you are have high blood sugars or if you are diabetic. The ranges of acceptable blood sugars usually depend on your age and sometimes build.
Avatar n tn There are several ways you can diagnose diabetes. Your level last night after one cup of soda is more representative of a random blood glucose. A random glucose of >200mg/dL with symptoms of diabetes is diagnostic of Type 2 Diabetes. Therefore, from that one measure, you do not have Type 2 Diabetes. However, your fasting sugar is within the pre-diabetic range. Are you pregnant? You posted in the gestation diabetes section which is diabetes within pregnancy. Hope that helps!
Avatar n tn I am Insulin Resistant. I recently ordered a free blood glucose meter after feeling severe hypoglycemic effects after eating fruit lately. I ate a candy bar, then checked my sugars two hours later. It read 168. Is it possible that I have crossed into the diabetic zone?
Avatar n tn (I was concerned about my daughter - non-diabetic and wanted to know more about blood sugar ranges) I hope this info. is helpful: What is a fasting blood sugar test? A fasting blood sugar test measures the amount of sugar (glucose) in your blood after you fast for eight hours. What's normal? Your fasting blood sugar is normal if it's 70 milligrams per deciliter (mg/dL), or 3.88 millimoles per liter (mmol/L), to 100 mg/dL (5.55 mmol/L). What level suggests prediabetes?
Avatar n tn s Endocrinologist even did a fasting glucose test (where you drink that sweet yucky drink) and it came back that she was a diabetic, HOWEVER, when they drew blood and sent blood to the lab EVERYTHING came back saying she was NOT a Diabetic and ever since she has been okay and is now 5-1/2 yrs. old. SO, I call it a fluke...maybe she had a little virus, but we did not see symptoms of it... Another piece of info. my sis as I mentioned was diagnosed 8 Years ago at the age of 24.
798555 tn?1292787551 I know there is a few people here with blood glucose levels, weather diabetic or not. I'm not diabetic by the way, and really want to avoid it obviously. I'm just wondering if anyone has noticed if there glucose goes up when they are hypo thyroid per labs. It only makes sense to me as the pancrease might not completely do its insulin job when your hypo, so more sugar floating around in your blood.
Avatar m tn I always take 2 or 3 pulkas or chapathis during night every day and i dont eat rice during night.. But whenever i check the blood glucose levels with the glucometer, i find that the fasting values are not within the range of normal values viz 110 for fasting. but the post lunch levels always within the normal range of viz 140.The random levels always varies from 125 to 150. Kindly advise me whether i am diabetic and do i have to take medicine for diabetes?
Avatar m tn 8 mmol/l is considered prediabetes but only by tiny wee bit. Considering 5.5 mmol/l is regarded as the top range for fasting glucose this is probably why your doctor said normal. For non-diabetics many doctors use 4.44 - 6.66 mmol/l as normal postprandial [after meal] ranges. It's quite simple to lower to your glucose with weight loss, daily exercise, and by reducing carbohydrate food intake.
Avatar m tn If people get high blood sugar from eating carbs then they are either diabetic or prediabetic..... a non-diabetic person will not get high blood sugar regardless of what they eat.
Avatar f tn t believe I have it, with my bs readings they seem within the norm non diabetic range... My lowest first thing in morning is 4.9 before breakfast.. Going upto 7.3 2hrs after eating breakfast... Confused!
