I have bought a self-diagnostic machine " looks like a pen" and the reading was shown as 6.1 . Am I in the safe area.Iam 53 yrs ,520 lbs and5ft -7ins .
i am on the levenmir pen iam at 63 ml and have been increasing every 3 days by 3 ml to no avail my blood sugar keeps climbing i heard the magic number is less than 120 i have been on this for aprox 3 months started out with 10ml is this correct? should my glucose level be climbing instead of going down??

My mom is a diabetic and I was just wondering to check my glucose levels to make sure that I am okay. She has an On-Call glucose monitor. I changed the lancet in pen stick to puncture the skin and then used a new strip for readings.
So my question is that I used new lancet and strip so is there any risk of infection whatsoever? And also tell me that if i will catch diabetes this way.

THIS HAPPENED WHEN I FIRST STARTED USING NOVOLOG MIX 70/30 FLEXPEN [APRIL 2009] NORDISK SUGGESTED THAT EITHER THE SAMPLE PEN(S) WERE BAD OR THEY WERE NOT STORED PROPERLY [REFRIGERATED} AT THE DOCS OFFICE !! STOPPED USING SAMPLES UNTIL MY ORDER CAME IN .. PROBLEM STILL OCCURS!!
Is this the pen sticking in your leg thing? If you mean a CBC (complete blood count) as a regular blood panel, no you can't determine HCV from that. An HCV antibody test would be a good start.
I have type II, and I haven't been able to get my blood sugar below 200 for weeks. Is it possible that my insulin has gone bad? It looks ok, but I did get 4 bottles at once so it's been in the fridge for a while before using. My doctor has me increasing the dose in increments but the test results seem to just go up. I just tested 433 and I have been pretty strict with my diet (which is really hard for a fatty like me).
2 months ago I went for a same hour HIV test (i tested negative). After waiting I went into the room and had my first finger of my writing hand "pin pricked" by the doctor and blood drawn out. I went back out to wait for the results, and within a minute I was handed a biro pen and a form to fill out some details. I think the pin prick had stopped bleeding by this point, but I don't know if it had healed.
My biggest concern is that the spit might have hd blood init and it is freaking me out, I know you might all think i am weird but it is the truth i am so freaked out by this and it is worrying me, i would like any help.....my local NHS didn't really know much any comments would be great.....
