1813627 tn?1337722375 Had about 10 viles of blood taken which I gather is normal the first time. They also had be do an hour blood glucose test done which I thought was done later in pregnancy. So today I had to go for a 3 hr test sinces yesterday my number was 141 and they wanted me to be under 135. Anyone that can shed some light on this would be wonderful.
Avatar n tn I'm a ftm and I'm still really early at 8w2d. Last Friday I had my first appointment and had a lot of blood work done which is normal but I'm getting the tests back with not a lot of explanation. Its making me a little nervous. The thing that worries me the most is that the glucose test came out about 5 points high and I have to go in for the 3 hour glucose test. Has anyone had this happen and ended up not having anything wrong? I'm fearing the worst and hoping for the best.
Avatar f tn Everyone agrees that normal 8-10 hr fasting (prandial) glucose ranges are 70-99 mg/dl. Then we have 2-4 hours after meal (postprandial) which is 140-145 mg/dl. This is what you father should aiming for. BUT, and I say but because with your pregnancy it has a different outcome. An Endocrinologist (diabetes specialist) should be seen to get an expert opinion.
Avatar f tn Every glucose test they've ever done on me came back normal too so I had to learn how to do all this on my own. Regular doctors don't look in to it like they should. You'd have to go to a diabetic specialist to get any real help which your doc won't refer you to if they don't think there's a problem. I've been stuck in this loop for years and finally got help from my ob bc the baby turned my hypoglycemia into gestational diabetes.
Avatar m tn Today I ate a breakfast burrito and had orange juice. My blood glucose was 92 thirty minutes after eating. Sometimes it will fall in the 60 range. My fasting blood glucose level was around 80. It seems like my body overcompensates when I consume sugar. Do you think I have reactive hypoglycemia?
Avatar n tn Hello! I'm not a medical professional, just the parent of a kid with diabetes. The normal blood glucose ranges for anyone, child or not are between 80 and 120. Some doctors will say 70-110, but it's all in the same range. Now, that's the target, but depending on what is eaten for example, a healthy person's blood glucose can rise temporarily up close to 200. As long as the values return to normal after a couple hours, all is well.
Avatar f tn s nearly impossible to find a vein. I went it to get my pregnancy test and blood sample to look into any health problems. They had to poke me five times before they got any blood. Can anyone tell me how many times will I need to get my blood drawn during pregnancy? Just wanting to prepare myself!
Avatar n tn ve been having troubles lately before I knew my blood sugar was high, after I would eat I would feel very bad, not knowing I had high blood sugar I was leading a normal diet, even some fast food here and there, I'm sure my blood sugar has been very very high until I started dieting now. Are those numbers normal or should I be worried?
Avatar n tn I M POTENTIALLY DIABETIC. HAD NORMAL GLUCOSE LEVELS LAST PREGNANCY. NOW I M 4 WKS PREGNANT WITH HIGH FASTING BLOOD SUGAR TODAY (120). I JUST HAD FIRST MISSED PERIOD. I M SO MUCH WORRIED NOW WHAT SHOULD I DO.
Avatar n tn ve been told by my doctor that my glucose levels in urine have been rising. Also that blood glucose test you do at forgot how many weeks, she said I passed it,but very close to not passing. I do not think the way they measure it in the doc's office is very accurate, by using strips put into urine. I have done some checking myself at home,by pricking the finger before and after each meal. On empty stomach in the morning,my number was 4.0.
Avatar f tn I just got home from by blood glucose test and feel really sick and tired. Is this normal? Does it mean something is wrong?
Avatar f tn I have been monitoring my blood sugars at home since at a doctor visit my fasting glucose was 135. Every morning in the past week I have taken it (on empty stomach) it has been in the 130's, only one time it was 114. All throughout the day it is between 129 and 158, sometimes it is 192, 263. I had blood drawn today for A1c, should get the results in a couple of days. I am wondering if these numbers are normal, or do I have a problem?
Avatar n tn No when I took my glucose test it said normal was 139 it below.. On my 1hr got 143 so I had to take the 3hr and passed that no prob. I think your numbers are fine.
Avatar n tn Yes! I just had to start this week. I passed 2 glucose tests (one in early pregnancy and one at normal time). Doc still thinks I might have it because of how large my baby is and I can't seem to stop gaining weight. Other than that no symptoms. And so far, blood sugar levels have been fine. Hope it goes well for you!!
Avatar f tn Any of you diabetic? I was wondering what the symptoms are if any, I'm 26 weeks and just took my glucose test.. result came back..I'm a little low but unsure if that's a form of diabetes aswell.

Avatar n tn When I did my one hour, it was not fasting, therefore if you ate anything high in carbs prior, your glucose level may have been high. With my last pregnancy (only made it to 9 weeks), they I failed my one hour with over 200, took the 3 hour and passed that...I think being it was fasting. (They have me test early b/c my Mom had Gest. Diabetes)......The blood test is generally more accurate than a regular glucometer.....
