Avatar f tn What you maybe observing are normal fluctuations in blood glucose levels as you began and go through your morning. The different results may have more to do with what you ingest the previous night before you go to sleep. You should contact your doctor and ask him/her to order appropriate blood tests. Then, IF, your overnight fasting blood sugar level is above normal your doctor will determine if you are diabetic and what medicines, diet, and exercise you should follow to control your illness.

Avatar n tn I have been seeing an endocrinologist because I am constantly having low blood sugar readings and have had a high fasting blood glucose test of 8.3. My endocrinologist feels this may be due to my dysautonomia. She thought maybe reactive hypoglycemia because I am having low fasting glucose levels as well as high. I went for a 2hr OGTT today and I am feeling horrible after the test. My baseline was 4.8 @ 8:55 Given 75g of glucose to drink At 4.3 @ 9:25 At 4.8 @ 9:55 At 6.2 @ 10:25 At 6.

Avatar m tn The ADA and the AACE always differ in their interpretation of what is a normal level for the fasting blood glucose. It is constantly being revised downwards and I think that it is getting ridiculously low! The level of 6 as an A1C used to be considered normal and OK. Then it went to <6 and now there is talk of making it <5. Absurd!

I did eat more calories because I was to gain little bit weight. So I just tried to eat much more and drink 4 glasses of whisky. This morning I thought I would have at least the same weight, but no. I was 74,1 this morning . Is this normal?
Avatar n tn Hello! I'm not a medical professional, just the parent of a kid with diabetes. The normal blood glucose ranges for anyone, child or not are between 80 and 120. Some doctors will say 70-110, but it's all in the same range. Now, that's the target, but depending on what is eaten for example, a healthy person's blood glucose can rise temporarily up close to 200. As long as the values return to normal after a couple hours, all is well.
Avatar f tn My latest test was “accidental’ fasting morning test at 1.56, presumably the highest of the day, is it possible I would test below normal in the afternoon?
863754 tn?1239144755 My aunt is in the hospital, as I type this, fighting to stay alive. After speaking with the doctors about her condition, I've discovered that they have absolutely no idea why she's dying. I'm posting here in the hopes of saving her life. For some reason, her blood glucose levels won't stabilize. They'll give her a shot of glucose to get her levels up, but in the matter of a few hours, it's back down to around 50 or 60 and they have to give her another shot.

Avatar n tn She has been diagnosed for 4 years now and it has been a nightmare. She has had so many problems with getting her blood sugar under control. All the doctors we have seen say she is a "brittle diabetic" and that she should be easier to control after she turns 16 or 17. Here lately we have been dealing with severe lows. This come out of no where. I thought that after being a diabetic for this long you wouldn't see the Honeymoon stage again. This is what it looks like to me.

Avatar f tn I have been monitoring my blood sugars at home since at a doctor visit my fasting glucose was 135. Every morning in the past week I have taken it (on empty stomach) it has been in the 130's, only one time it was 114. All throughout the day it is between 129 and 158, sometimes it is 192, 263. I had blood drawn today for A1c, should get the results in a couple of days. I am wondering if these numbers are normal, or do I have a problem?
Avatar m tn I know that the average pulse pressure is supposed to be around 40 but mine is usually 50 or 60 but my bp is around normal. My blood pressure is usually around 120-130 and between 65-75. So if my blood pressure is 125/65 would it be bad that I have such a high pulse pressure of 60?
Avatar n tn I would do two things; first, fasting test with another meter and with yours at the same time to see if yours is out of calibration; two, I would get an A1c test to verify normal glucose level. If the A1c results are normal, don't fret anymore.
