Common Questions and Answers about Blood glucose normal cats

Avatar n tn Pet Diet plays a major role in influencing the effectiveness, pet response and ultimate outcome of chemotherapy in dogs and cats diagnosed with cancer. Cancer cells alter your pets body’s ability to metabolize dietary nutrients, including carbohydrates, fats and proteins. The effect of cancer on dog and cat glucose or "blood" sugar metabolism is most dramatic in pets.
Avatar m tn Today I ate a breakfast burrito and had orange juice. My blood glucose was 92 thirty minutes after eating. Sometimes it will fall in the 60 range. My fasting blood glucose level was around 80. It seems like my body overcompensates when I consume sugar. Do you think I have reactive hypoglycemia?
Avatar n tn Hello! I'm not a medical professional, just the parent of a kid with diabetes. The normal blood glucose ranges for anyone, child or not are between 80 and 120. Some doctors will say 70-110, but it's all in the same range. Now, that's the target, but depending on what is eaten for example, a healthy person's blood glucose can rise temporarily up close to 200. As long as the values return to normal after a couple hours, all is well.
Avatar n tn ve been having troubles lately before I knew my blood sugar was high, after I would eat I would feel very bad, not knowing I had high blood sugar I was leading a normal diet, even some fast food here and there, I'm sure my blood sugar has been very very high until I started dieting now. Are those numbers normal or should I be worried?
Avatar n tn In the event that you had an arbitrary blood glucose test, an ordinary outcome relies upon when you last ate. More often than not, the blood glucose level will be underneath 125 mg/dL (6.
Avatar f tn I have been monitoring my blood sugars at home since at a doctor visit my fasting glucose was 135. Every morning in the past week I have taken it (on empty stomach) it has been in the 130's, only one time it was 114. All throughout the day it is between 129 and 158, sometimes it is 192, 263. I had blood drawn today for A1c, should get the results in a couple of days. I am wondering if these numbers are normal, or do I have a problem?
506791 tn?1439842983 Just got back from the vet with Miss Hildiekatt. her blood glucose level was nicely in the normal range after 2 weeks off insulin. So, it looks like she is in remission. We discussed the weight loss she's had over the past 9 months (5#), which is much more symmetrical along her body than the muscle wasting she had before we got the diabetes under control.
Avatar n tn I would do two things; first, fasting test with another meter and with yours at the same time to see if yours is out of calibration; two, I would get an A1c test to verify normal glucose level. If the A1c results are normal, don't fret anymore.
173119 tn?1296999736 Hi, Yes it is normal for blood sugars to be higher when you are sick. Should go back down to normal when you recover.
Avatar n tn t mean go to the vet ASAP in the morning, just as soon as you and them can work an appointment. The bloodwork you will want would be BUN and CREAT (kidney functions), blood glucose (check for diabetes), and a Free T4 (check thyroid hormone). Most vets send out the T4 to an outside lab, but results are often available within a day or two depending on the lab. Your vet may also want to check a urine sample if suspecting kidney issue or diabetes.
Avatar n tn I'm a ftm and I'm still really early at 8w2d. Last Friday I had my first appointment and had a lot of blood work done which is normal but I'm getting the tests back with not a lot of explanation. Its making me a little nervous. The thing that worries me the most is that the glucose test came out about 5 points high and I have to go in for the 3 hour glucose test. Has anyone had this happen and ended up not having anything wrong? I'm fearing the worst and hoping for the best.
1813627 tn?1337722375 a blood glucose test is normal when you first see the doctor around 8 to 10 weeks if your doctor thinks you have a risk factors for gestational diabetes such as being overweight. I am overweight and the doctor does 1 for me at 8 weeks and then again later on at the normal time. also your number could have been high if you didn't fast the night before.
Avatar f tn I'm doing the 3 hr glucose test! I already drank the glucose dronk, is it normal to get nauseated, sleepy PR is it a bad sign???
Avatar f tn In that case, I think it’s normal, it’s fairly common in cats to have small quantities of blood in their stool, sometimes mixed with mucus. I'm glad to hear she enjoying her time! Best of luck, and keep us posted.
Avatar n tn The real health of the individual is whether the body produces enough insulin to lower a number that goes slightly above normal or whether the blood glucose stays high.
107693 tn?1252864443 My husband last was A1C 6.2 . My question is, why is that his blood glucose is high upon waking up. It is 130 than he has breakfast and works out. So about four hours later the blood glucose level are in the 80's.
Avatar n tn thanks for that but does not answer question about whether the level will increase or decrease from random(non fasting).
Avatar n tn In a normal Non Diabetic person, what is the highest (peak ) Glucose levels that are usually attained. If the Peak is below 200 is this considered normal? or is it much lower?
Avatar f tn My blood sugars fluctuate drastically...all blood work is normal....I have hypothyoidism, right lobe still present with nodules present. I break out in sweats..I end up drenched...sugar 264...then I get shivers...sugar drops to 120s I had a pancreatic scan done 5yrs. ago and it was ok...everything comes back endocrinologist said I was developing diabetes and he didn't know why my sugars fluctuated the way they did and he would know what to do about it...
Avatar m tn I have recently visited an endo because my fasting glucose was a bit high, 95 on the last blood work. Every other test was completely normal. After a complete blood/urine test, everything came back normal, including A1C of 4.8 My endo suggested that I can take the glucose tolerance test to be sure (he is very thorough). I even bought a glucose meter and tested myself for a week (2 hrs postmeal was around 120). I just got home, very depressed about my GTT results.
Avatar m tn What can be the normal glucose level after 3-4 hours lunch or dinner time.(mine is lower after 4 hours) If i make daily activity is it normal to have lower values? If i make exercise , can this lower my glucose level. I learned that during exercise insulin is generated and that can lower my gluce level rapidly. Now i bougt a glucose meter, maybe it is better to make my own test at home while i am sitting.
