Avatar n tn I don't think so, I think it is your body reacting to the hormones trying to balance back to normal. I had the same problem and that's what they told me. You will bleed most likely for a very long time. A few months. Once your hormones are balanced again, and your body has maintained it's homeostasis, you should stop bleeding.
Tbd Postprandial hyperglycemia is also one of the earliest abnormalities of glucose homeostasis associated with type 2 diabetes" https://care.diabetesjournals.org/content/24/4/775 So test 1-2 hours after a meal. As a pure guess, I'd think that once a month is sufficient - unless you change your diet or activity or other risk factors.
Avatar m tn Marijuana does nothing to affect blood glucose levels either direction. Glucose levels in type 2 diabetes are maintained by weight loss, exercise and reduction of carbs. The only effect marijuana might have is to give you the munchies when you might eat things that could raise your blood sugar. If you are having trouble maintaining blood sugar in target range talk with your doctor about putting you on some meds.
Avatar f tn What tests have you had done to determine blood glucose levels and what were those results? Since the pancreas and thyroid are both parts of the endocrine system the hormones do affect each other...
Avatar n tn I was almost killed recently while in the hospital, because they thought it was regular hypoglycemia and drew blood without giving me anything to eat or drink. I need to find out the current, correct medical term for my condition so that this won't happen again. My symptoms: If I don't eat for a long time, my blood sugar drops rapidly and preciptously. Overexertion, stress, heat and dehydration also contribute. Having blood drawn almost always triggers an attack.
Avatar m tn never work and always fail. Honey contains fructose, which in a majority of diabetics elevates glucose levels. One must make and maintain lifestyle changes in order to control and manage their diabetes and/or help reverse it. Reversing diabetes depends greatly on your unknown glucose levels and how long you've been that way. It depends also on your current body weight and diet.
Avatar m tn About a month ago, my little toe got a burning sensation and I thought I may have diabetes. I got a blood glucose meter and tested multiple times (non fasting) and it was never over 110. I started drinking beet juice for other reasons and immediately noticed my legs felt very much better, but my toe still 'burns'. Am I on the right track for a circulation disorder, most likely PAD?
1720613 tn?1309432604 Along with sticking to a diabetic diet/nutrition plan, and daily physical exercise being overweight contributes greatly to diabetes. Keep your cholesterol, triglycerides and blood pressure at normal levels too. Doing all helps lower and maintain proper glucose levels. Purchase a reputable home glucose test meter, test before each meal [preprandial] - to get a baseline measurement.
3923358 tn?1358552214 About 1/2 after i ate I started to feel sort of out of it and so I tested it and my blood sugar was 69, is that low. Also yesterday my fasting glucose was 131. Should I be concerned?
Avatar n tn I too have gestational diabetes but was unfortunate in the fact that diet and exercise alone would not reduce my blood glucose levels enough for me to be safe; I have to take tablets, a limited Sugar and carb diet, inject insulin 4 times a day and also maintain a healthy level of exercise. Its really hard going. The one thing that is keeping me motivated is the fact that my little one has no say in his weight gain, so he could get too big for a natural and safe vaginal delivery.
Avatar f tn The postprandial provides an insight of which foods are causing blood glucose to rise above normal. Blood glucose reaches its peak from foods eaten between 2 and 3 hours after consumption. Both prandial & postprandial ranges should be discussed with his doctor. Some doctors expect postprandial below <180 mg/dl, others at below <140 mg/dl.

Consumption of foods with a low glucose levels appears to reduce postprandial glucose rise and improve glycemic control. Reduced calorie and nonnutritive sweeteners(better avoided in epileptics) are useful.
Avatar f tn I just recently got blood tests done and my bile levels were elevated and I had to go to a high risk specialist for a possible cholestasis diagnosis. I am still waiting on more blood test results to actually see if my bile levels are elevated because my syptoms went away. I am driving myself crazy thinking what ifs....
Avatar m tn Your doctor can do a c-peptide test which will assess how much insulin your pancreas is actually making. You have maintained your diabetes on oral meds for a very long time...average is more like 10-12 years. Your pancreas just may have stopped working. Please be sure and check this out and don't let your reluctance to consider insulin stop you from taking care of yourself.
