How often do you check your blood sugar when you have a history on both sides of the family but are not currently diabetic

55 yo male with low back pain history of kidney stones hypertension and transient ischemic attack.... elevated ESR (29). Glucose 130.

All of my number are ok EXCEPt my fasting blood sugar. I'm not in any medication.

My doctor will be doing tests in a few weeks, but I have had some fairly high glucose levels lately. I also have a history of high blood pressure although that has been better most of the time lately. Tonight all of a sudden I started having a terrible headache and nausea. My glucose level was somewhat high. So either this was due to the glucose levels or due to high blood pressure. Whatever it is, I am so tired of being sick and tired all of the time.

Had about 10 viles of blood taken which I gather is normal the first time. They also had be do an hour blood glucose test done which I thought was done later in pregnancy. So today I had to go for a 3 hr test sinces yesterday my number was 141 and they wanted me to be under 135. Anyone that can shed some light on this would be wonderful.

Is it possible to have diabetes without having high blood sugar? I've never had a glucose level over 90 on any blood test. We were allowed to keep the monitors and I have been doing some random blood glucose checks on myself when I am not feeling well to help myself better understand lows.

Regardless of the results of your glucose test, you should continue to keep an eye on your blood sugars during your pregnancy because you are at higher risk of developing gestational diabetes given your history. You will stil need to gain adequate weight to nourish your baby, but you should aim for about 25-30 pounds during the pregnancy and not too much over that, so that you can limit your chances of having abnormal glucoses during the pregnancy. ok i have recently taken a urine test because i had some kind of uti they said there was a very high abnormal range of glucose in my urine but when i came back the next day they gave me a blood suger test which was normal does anyone know what may have caused the high glucose in my urine?

I'll be 13w tomorrow. No I haven't only had 2 appts the first was just talking/questions then the one after was just an ultrasound at 10w. It was really scary. Lord I couldnt imagine it happening at Walmart. I was freaking out. Its never been that bad.

This week after getting a EKG done and awaiting a EEG, so far have found nothing wrong in that department. Yet my blood work came back and was told over the phone that my glucose level was very low. well i guess he meant a thorough test but that will take a few days so i bought the strips from the pharmacy myself and took the test today and it was negative. but for my self satisfaction i took the blood test not a thorough one just the one where you put a bit of blood on a strip and use some small electronic gadget and in that also my sugar level was normal. i am still slightly paranoid, so i was wondering if i take a thorough test, will there be a chance that i have diabetes?

Chronic hyperyension prior to pregnancy (high blood pressure), family history of diabetes (both parents have it), and I was overweight before I got pregnant (not horribly) another risk is if you had gestational diabetes in a past pregnancy- which I didn't in my last one
