Avatar f tn I am 29 weeks today. I had to have a glucose test done early since im a bit overweight.(a little over a month ago) Now they want another one because of my BP. If my BP is perfect with meds, why do I have to do another glucose?
231441 tn?1333892766 Regardless of the results of your glucose test, you should continue to keep an eye on your blood sugars during your pregnancy because you are at higher risk of developing gestational diabetes given your history. You will stil need to gain adequate weight to nourish your baby, but you should aim for about 25-30 pounds during the pregnancy and not too much over that, so that you can limit your chances of having abnormal glucoses during the pregnancy. Hope this helps. Good luck and take care!
Avatar f tn Learning How to Switch Diabetic Pets from Vetsulin to DNA Based Insulin is quite simple. Regulating your diabetic pet at home and making your dogs own Urine Glucose Curve is also helpful. Switching pets over from Vetsulin to DNA based insulin is not hard and daily regulation using your pets urine along with a product, available at Walgreens, called Diastix, will help you regulate your diabetic pet at home as quickly as possible.
Avatar f tn If you get negatives again, make an appointment for a blood pregnancy test. Your chart does look like a pregnancy chart (not much of a shift change but it IS a shift change). The only other thing that would keep your temps up after O would be an ovarian cyst. I really think you're preggo but you'll have to do another test. OPK's can pick up the pregnancy hormone just like an HPT so that's a good thing. Good luck! And let us know!
Avatar m tn "Diagnosis can be confirmed by ultrasound." ----------- What will his Ultra Sound results compare to though? Answer: "the middle of the bell curve chart." Testing someone --especially in a culture this variable-- only works if the person tested "calibrated" the testing apparatus themselves when they were healthy. The guy above has a certain penile pulse rate (or whatever the detail is) and blood pressure _now_ when ill _for him_.
194838 tn?1303428544 I do not test my own blood but am sent to the hospital for fairly regular tests but notice that when people post with their blood glucose levels they are in the 100s. I am from the UK and wonder if there is a conversion chart because I think it would be more beneficial if I could compare with others on the forum to get a sense of how im doing for comparison, Any advise would be greatly appreciated .
Avatar m tn I'm curious why the weight tracker also draws a curve for BMI. Unless your height is changing, BMI and body weight are perfectly correlated, right? Isn't the BMI curve redundant, i.e. aren't the two curves identical?
Avatar f tn So I had my initial appointment today, got a bunch of information, got my blood work ordered & because of the stupid backwards bmi chart, I had to get a glucose challenge. I waited 8 hrs to take it so that I could fast, but I'm afraid that wasn't enough. Did any of you mommies have to get an early challenge? When you did do the glucose, did you fast or did you eat?
Avatar f tn They will give u diet restrictions & have u monitor and chart ur blood sugar levels every day.
1524673 tn?1327841500 Yes, and even repetitive seizures can cause damage. You need to take the dog to the vet and get a general panel done as well, checking liver enzymes, electrolytes with glucose and a cbc.
866901 tn?1505506236 Depending on the peak effect of when your insulin works, the blood sugar will be totally different and you should never adjust this without your vet explaining how a blood glucose curve works. Hope that helps!
Avatar f tn All his blood tests are normal. He is below the 3rd percentile growth curve in height and weight. He was a vaginal delivery and not premature. I’m wondering if any of you had a child like this and whether that child ended up growing well later on in his or her teenage years. Thanks very much!
890202 tn?1241781910 I looked at your chart and there still is not a clear thermal shift to indicate o has occurred. I would bd today and every day until your temp shifts and remains elevated. It still looks pre o as of now.

I'm looking for some wishful thinking here ladies.. failed my one hour today, obviously.. and I feel like poop about it :'( I've heard many who fail the first go on to pass the second test. Just wondered others' personal experiences.
Avatar f tn I took him to the hospital on friday night with an outer and inner ear infection. While there his blood sugar was in the 400s. It was brought down befor we left. I was told to keep a close eye on his levels and to follow up with his primary doctor. The soonest they can see him is the 8th. He just checked and his blood sugar is 452. He took his meds. (metformin and glipizide) What can we do? Should we go to the hospital?
Avatar m tn My baby now is 9 months but he's only 7.5kg! Every month he gets 300g and his chart age/weight curve is just below the lower curve of the chart. It's very difficult to feed him, he doesn't want to eat. Even drink formula milk (he only drinks right before sleeping). When he's not about to sleep, he prefers to play than to eat. I don't know what to do now and I worry a lot for his health!
Avatar f tn My child was diagnosed with Constitutional Growth Delay and had fallen off of the growth chart. My child is 6 years old and weighs under 34 pounds. My child has always been considered small. I am concerned about my child's weight since having an appetite has never been an issue. The lack of significant weight did not occur until 2 1/2 years ago. At that time my child went through a very tramatic event.
Avatar m tn com/diabetes/guide/normal-blood-sugar-levels-chart-adults This article has information related to charting of glucose numbers. If you were fasting, I think it's time to have an evaluation by your physician to look into your glucose numbers. If you were not and it was before a meal, then they would be close to normal. so, that info would be helpful for further discussion.
Avatar m tn diets with two ounces of mixed nuts daily allowed them to have significantly better control over their blood-glucose levels. Not only that, but the study volunteers also saw a welcome drop in their LDL-cholesterol numbers.

1372516 tn?1297265962 Jennifer, I am not sure why you think it's nothing to do with glucose.........but if you google it you will see you are wrong. What is the hemoglobin A1c test? The hemoglobin A1c test (also called H-b-A-one-c) is a simple lab test that shows the average amount of sugar (also called glucose) that has been in a person's blood over the last 3 months. The hemoglobin A1c test shows if a person's blood sugar is close to normal or too high.
Avatar m tn Zoe - I think Windchimes meant humulin insulin not huminsulin. Humulin is considered an intermediate acting insulin as its duration is 24 hours, but this can vary per individual. LANTUS, on the other hand, is considered long lasting as its duration is up to 36 hours. Windchimes - You kept your Humulin dose a secret so one can only assume you're at max and why your doctor is considering moving to the pump. This link will give an inside on pumps http://tinyurl.com/lvs7o6 .
8485484 tn?1408936473 t a fatal condition if monitored properly. In a woman suffering from high blood glucose levels, the baby produces more insulin to control the increased sugar levels. • This could significantly lead to low sugar levels in the baby, since the body would become accustomed to producing excessive insulin. • A test showing glucose levels during pregnancy can be a sure shot way of monitoring the sugar levels. A low blood sugar level chart will help in diagnosing the condition immediately.
