Avatar f tn The idea is to induce changes in collagen fibers in the legs to create a smooth skin surface, according to Bruce Shack in a Vanderbilt University Medical Center study examining the effects of cellulite-smoothing techniques. Vigorous massage is supposed to stimulate blood flow and remove excess fluid from the legs. Creams may replenish nutrients in the skin cells of the legs and reinvigorate their look and shapeliness.
1085545 tn?1284045854 I am also a vegetarian and found I had to make some drastic changes in my diet, but I am now able to eat a variety of foods and enjoy cooking again. What you need to reduce is your intake of carbs. If you are used to eating a large amount of rice (for me the problem was pasta) you will have to change that.
Avatar m tn iam hypertensive, dabetic with increased cholosterol level . Provide me with a balanced diet plan for 1500 calories per day?
Avatar f tn No, it is not a NO iodine diet, but a LOW iodine diet. No sea salt, no iodized salt, no sea products, including sea fish, no red dye. When I was on it, my TSH got up to I an over-acheiver? Haha, check out the no-nos and recipes on the thyroid cancer this should help you. You may also try to step an exersize program if you are able...that will get the metabolism going and get your pituitary to try to stimulate the thyroid. Good luck!
332074 tn?1229564125 My problem is, I have sooo many food allergies that alot of the foods that are good for a diet, I can't eat. Is there anyway I can achieve weightloss with the foods that I can eat? I eat three meals a day because if I try six small meals, do not work with my schedule. I do try to keep my three meals pretty light and with alot of vegtables but it just doesn't work.

Avatar f tn Avoid animal protein. Limit fat, sugar, and salt. Eat a good breakfast, a moderate lunch, and a light supper. Don't eat too late at night. Don't eat between meals—allow five hours between meals. Eat at regular times. Avoid refined grains. Choose foods that will build good blood. Exercise: Only 37% of Americans regularly engage in some form of exercise, and over 72% are overweight. Walking is an excellent form of exercise and can easily be worked into one's schedule.
72351 tn?1281996142 I have a question about diet. I am a city bus driver. We do not have lunch breaks and must eat on the go, have to nibble throughout the day. That poses a problem when it comes to taking a test 2 hrs after eating as I am nibbling throughout day. Any helpful hints? Also, I am not having any troubles keeping my sugar down during the day. It has been anywhere from 93-110.
Avatar f tn As to diet, the first step is to take a serious look at it. I recently did this myself. I eliminated processed foods. All crackers, chips, processed frozen meals, etc. Sugar is next to go. I eliminated all sweets (except for a treat once a week), never add sugar, look at the labels to choose low sugar. I watch fats--- try to use canola oil/olive oil. Watch your carbohydrates--- so limit breads, white rice, pasta. I eat lean protein, beans, lean cuts of meat, eggs, fish, etc.

1765695 tn?1313673183 I primarily follow a vegetarian diet but the men in my family follow a carnivore diet. Is there a list of diet guidelines I can follow for our family when preparing our food that will help prevent high blood pressure?
Avatar n tn Try the blood type diet. worked for me. lost 60 lbs in six months. Dr. Peter J. D'Adamo has a book out that makes a ton of sense called "eating right 4 your type". It works!
Avatar f tn It all depends on what is missing your blood—folic acid, vitamin B12, iron—etc—what is missing? You could be eating a lot, but your diet may not be nutritious, or your diet may not be having that particular nutrient. For example, a person of totally veggie diet often lacks vitamin B12. Hence, ask your doctor which nutrient you are lacking, and try and fortify that through diet and medication. Take care!

Anyway, through all the stress I gained weight and didnt' care...I had given up on everything. My mom joined this program called Slim 4 Life and I started watching her.
Avatar n tn I have been diagonised with low Blood pressure. Can u suggest a suitable diet to regain normalcy?
Avatar f tn While having a bm I bleed from my anus. There was a good deal of blood and it colored the toilet. Is this normal?
Avatar n tn A. The most important thing is to find out why your blood count is low. Are you having heavy bleeding from your uterus? Do you have an ulcer and bleeding in your intestinal tract? Are you just after an operation and lost a lot of blood? You should be talking with your doctor to find out why. A low blood count can make it difficult to stand up without getting dizzy, make you short of breath and make it hard to fight of infections.
Avatar f tn It may actually make your heart rhythm slower and more regular because a stable blood sugar will reduce blood adrenaline. That said - be sure you get enough potassium, magnesium and calcium, which often may be a problem with those diets. Follow up with your doctor on a regular basis. Maybe you should get an approval from him before you change your diet too? That diet is not for everyone.
Avatar n tn This morning, however, instead of passing a stool, I passed quite a large amount of red blood, which had a lot of mucus in it. I've made an appointment with my GP - in 2 weeks' time - but, needless to say, I'm terrified and wonder if I should seek emergency treatment? I hope you can give me some idea of what the cause may be, and whether it is urgent. Thank you.
Avatar m tn For the past month now I have experienced blood while having a bowl movement course thought nothing of it, thought maybe due to what I had eaten the night before. Then three or more months prior I was experiencing a change in my movements as they were getting dark black as well as soft and skinny. Two days ago there was a lot of blood both in toilet as well as when I wiped up that was bright red! I have medicaid insurance so I took my self to the ER this morning to have things checked out.
Avatar n tn I am a 30 yr old male. I wiegh 185 lbs and have had high blood pressure for the past 3-4 years. My blood pressure usually runs about 140/90 - 150/95. I have never really been a healthy eater and live mostly a sedentary lifestyle (aside from chasing my kids around). I have been trying to eat a low sodium diet lately and am really getting into it. I have been trying to do the DASH diet for hypertension, however it seems like much of the diet revolves around weight loss.
Avatar f tn There are many others to add but this is a good start. Eat a Low GI diet. Drink lots of water. Exercise - or at least go for a walk a few times a week depending on your level of fatigue. Drink whey protein smoothies, also if you have cirrhosis limit protien intake to 1gram per kilo of body weight. If you have cirrhosis, limit salt intake.
