Common Questions and Answers about Blood clots during period after miscarriage

Avatar n tn ( if you are in fact having a miscarriage and take a pregnancy test after the bleeding stops it may still come out positive for a few weeks after that even though you miscarried..
Avatar f tn Has anyone ever bled like a period during 1st trimester..ive been bleeding for 5 days..dr said its too early to determine supposed to have blood work done but the weather has interfered...soo im just waiting and worrying..could I be having a miscarriage..I told the dr how bad I was bleeding and that I was passing some clots but he said that it could be normal and didnt mean neccessarily that I was miscarrying..only my blood work would give the answers...
Avatar n tn Then I got my full-blown period about 28 days after the first day of my natural miscarriage. I have usually had light periods during my normal cycles, but this first period after my miscarriage, it has been really heavy, and I've been passing a lot of huge bright red clots for 2 1/2 days so far. Is this normal? And is my body just trying to get back on track, or is there a bigger problem?
Avatar f tn Question . When having a miscarriage do u have to have few blood clots being released or even a large amount of blood as in it fills a pad up?
Avatar n tn Then I noticed I started to feel period crampy and started having bright red blood spotting. It has gradually gotten worse and now i'm passing dark red blood clots. Mainly when I wipe, and it typically doesn't get on a pad. I had a blood test done 2 days ago and another one scheduled for tomorrow. Has anyone else experienced this? I've also noticed my breast aren't as tender and i don't have the nausea I had. I'm fearful I'm having a miscarriage.
Avatar n tn sounds like it..becuase you dont get your period when your pregnant and if you think you got your period with heavy clots...that sounds like a problem. contact your doctor.
Avatar f tn Was anybody's period extremely heavy and with bad cramping after their miscarriage. I also had a big clot .. is this normal?
Avatar f tn I went to the doctor yesterday. He told me it was normal for a period to be heavy after a miscarriage because is basically cleaning out any extra tissues (which are the blood clots) leftover. Therefore everything should be back to normal afterwards but if the bleeding is gets heavier or it continues on for an extended period then it's best to go to the hospital ASAP because it's considered very dangerous.
Avatar f tn That was me at the beginning of my pregnancy. I bled til i was about 20wks and the told me i was at risk of a miscarriage. But as long as you don't pass blood clots or to were your gushing blood, you'll be fine.
Avatar f tn and after that nothing until toaday again it was just a little bit of brown blood but nothing else afterwards. could it just be left over from the miscarriage, my period, or could it be implantation bleeding? my doctor told me i should get my first period three to four weeks after the miscarriage because i was so early in my pregnancy when i miscarried but no signs of a period starting. any information will help.
Avatar f tn t be surprised by an unusual period after taking it. If this just happened today, and if you can get hold of a pregnancy test and take it immediately, you *might* be able to detect a trace of hCG with the test. If it is there, (meaning, if the test comes up positive), that would indicate you (at least had been) pregnant, which might let you guess what the clot might have been.
Avatar f tn It could be the start of an early or late period (brown discharge is common at the beginning of a period or end of one) or could be old blood. If you think you might be pregnant, I would take a test and if it is positive, then I'd get blood results done to see what your levels are.
919507 tn?1267591732 If it is heavy flow you will need to go and see a doctor asap... if there are clots in it, it could be a miscarriage. Either way, I would still go and see a doctor.
Avatar m tn While blood clots are a normal part of a heavier period, that size blood clots and that frequent passing of them is not normal nor is the length of your period. A period should only last up to 7 days, not longer. Your doctor will probably put you on birth control to regulate your periods, and that should make them lighter and a lot shorter (mine went from 7 days heavy with clots to 2-3 days medium flow and sometimes light).
Avatar f tn s bormal, actually mine was worse cause I had the miscarriage at 17 weeks and after I lost the baby, I was bleeding for a week, and it was so bad that I had to have a blood transfusion, and then when I had my first period, it was like 2 weeks after that, I was spotting for the first week, and the second week, I was still passing blood clots for a whole week, I had to take a lot of beet juice so I didn't have to get another transfusion, and it was like that till I got pregnant again, 6 months
Avatar f tn I'm sorry :( unfortunately you just have to wait it out. They don't usually do anything for you unless you're experiencing severe cramping or lots of blood. It's normal to bleed a little bit. I did during the beginning of this pregnancy. My last pregnancy which was a miscarriage at 5 weeks, I didn't spot, I just gushed blood out right from the beginning.
746775 tn?1232981943 It was a long wait but I never showed any signs of infection. Six weeks after the miscarriage my hcg level returned to 0 and my period came. The period was a lot longer and darker/more brown than usual with a few very tiny clots. I read that this was a normal experience and didn't worry too much about it. I've just started my period again; there are more clots present during this cycle than the one that immediately followed the miscarriage.
Avatar n tn yesterday on day 8 eight of missed period i had a very light pink brown discharge - then during the early hours of the morning awoke with very sharp pains in my lower back and stomach - i bled quite a lot and discharged 2 blood clots, they were quite big, and have never had clots like these before.
Avatar n tn I have had bleeding since about a week after I found out I was pregnant and that has been 3 weeks. I passed blood clots twice this week. Blood has been anywhere from pink to bright red to mucousy brown. I'm very frustrated because I thought I would have an ultrasound to make sure things were ok and to see how far along I was but nothing... I'm waiting on results from my hCg test. I'm just looking for reassurance and praying nonstop.
Avatar n tn what colour are the clots? chances are that its a miscarriage with clotting that early... i know my cousin had some heavy bleeding a bit further a long than you but it was due to her placenta you will have to wait for the results are you still bleeding now just try and take it easy are you having any pain?
Avatar f tn I 9 weeks pregnant and I know that I'm high risk (8th pregnancy) 5 natural births 1 c section 1 miscarriage and 1 abortion. I don't have any pain no bleeding but for the past two nights I passed a total of 10 quarter sized clots. I'm really scared. I did not bleed before and not after but I can't stop thinking I miscarried. I go to the drs tomorrow. Has this happened to anybody and it was not a miscarriage?
Avatar f tn You can have decidual bleeding during pregnancy that occurs around the time you would expect a period. However, this isn't a period. During menstruation the uterine lining is completely shed, meaning any embryo that was implanted would also be shed causing a miscarriage.
Avatar n tn I am about 8 weeks pregnant and one day i found out that i am bleeding first it was light blood with brown and dark brown color but after it becomes more blood and red color sometimes with small amount of blood tissues in a small size, i felt abdominal pain for one night and it's gone I west to see doc he said maybe i will miscarried and he told you have to wait and see I want to know if it is normal or it is a sign of miscarriage
