Then I got my full-blown period about 28 days after the first day of my natural miscarriage. I have usually had light periods during my normal cycles, but this first period after my miscarriage, it has been really heavy, and I've been passing a lot of huge bright red clots for 2 1/2 days so far. Is this normal? And is my body just trying to get back on track, or is there a bigger problem?

sounds like it..becuase you dont get your period when your pregnant and if you think you got your period with heavy clots...that sounds like a problem. contact your doctor.
Was anybody's period extremely heavy and with bad cramping after their miscarriage. I also had a big clot .. is this normal?
I went to the doctor yesterday. He told me it was normal for a period to be heavy after a miscarriage because is basically cleaning out any extra tissues (which are the blood clots) leftover. Therefore everything should be back to normal afterwards but if the bleeding is gets heavier or it continues on for an extended period then it's best to go to the hospital ASAP because it's considered very dangerous.
That was me at the beginning of my pregnancy. I bled til i was about 20wks and the told me i was at risk of a miscarriage. But as long as you don't pass blood clots or to were your gushing blood, you'll be fine.
and after that nothing until toaday again it was just a little bit of brown blood but nothing else afterwards. could it just be left over from the miscarriage, my period, or could it be implantation bleeding? my doctor told me i should get my first period three to four weeks after the miscarriage because i was so early in my pregnancy when i miscarried but no signs of a period starting. any information will help.

If this just happened today, and if you can get hold of a pregnancy test and take it immediately, you *might* be able to detect a trace of hCG with the test. If it is there, (meaning, if the test comes up positive), that would indicate you (at least had been) pregnant, which might let you guess what the clot might have been.
While blood clots are a normal part of a heavier period, that size blood clots and that frequent passing of them is not normal nor is the length of your period. A period should only last up to 7 days, not longer. Your doctor will probably put you on birth control to regulate your periods, and that should make them lighter and a lot shorter (mine went from 7 days heavy with clots to 2-3 days medium flow and sometimes light).
s bormal, actually mine was worse cause I had the miscarriage at 17 weeks and after I lost the baby, I was bleeding for a week, and it was so bad that I had to have a blood transfusion, and then when I had my first period, it was like 2 weeks after that, I was spotting for the first week, and the second week, I was still passing blood clots for a whole week, I had to take a lot of beet juice so I didn't have to get another transfusion, and it was like that till I got pregnant again, 6 months
I'm sorry :( unfortunately you just have to wait it out. They don't usually do anything for you unless you're experiencing severe cramping or lots of blood. It's normal to bleed a little bit. I did during the beginning of this pregnancy. My last pregnancy which was a miscarriage at 5 weeks, I didn't spot, I just gushed blood out right from the beginning.
what colour are the clots? chances are that its a miscarriage with clotting that early... i know my cousin had some heavy bleeding a bit further a long than you but it was due to her placenta you will have to wait for the results

I 9 weeks pregnant and I know that I'm high risk (8th pregnancy) 5 natural births 1 c section 1 miscarriage and 1 abortion. I don't have any pain no bleeding but for the past two nights I passed a total of 10 quarter sized clots. I'm really scared. I did not bleed before and not after but I can't stop thinking I miscarried. I go to the drs tomorrow. Has this happened to anybody and it was not a miscarriage?
Did the bleeding stop after that episode or did you continue passing blood, clots, etc? Did you expect to get your period soon and could it just as well have been early? If you are concerned that you may have had a miscarriage, take a hpt or go to the hospital if you are bleeding heavily or are experiencing pain or discomfort. Good luck.
