Avatar f tn The focus on how important normal blood pressure is, and how dangerous high blood pressure is, can make anyone anxious and produce false blood pressure results. And 149/80 is just mildly elevated. Anxiety will make the blood pressure increase in everyone. It's a normal response. In Norway, almost no one get the diagnosis of high blood pressure without a 24 hour monitoring, to reveal the true blood pressure.
Avatar f tn Test for them, there is an antibody blood test If I remember right. if you have them, get rid of them, eat healthy, no alcohol (alcohol is a great enhancer for cancerous damage) and you should be fine. Good luck!
Avatar n tn Sometimes I go through a whole day by snacking countless times during the day, eating only 1 decent meal. I am not over-weight, but I have found myself to have a very fast motablosim. Avatar m tn I have high LDL chololesterol and was told I have to take a statin drug. One doctor gave me a RX for Lipitor 20 mg SID. Another doctor gave me a RX for Lovastatin 20 mg SID. The Lipitor will cost me $130/mo., the Lovastatin will cost $5/mo. Aside from the obvious cost difference, which RX is better? The bottom line is that I really do not want to take a statin at all BUT if I have to take one, I want to take what will work the best at lowering my LDL levels.

Avatar f tn Studies have indicated that similar SVR rates are achieved among patients completing therapy who use alcohol vs those who do not use alcohol.[3,4] Because of higher discontinuation rates among patients using alcohol while receiving therapy, a more appropriate strategy in these patients may be to address their alcohol use concurrently with beginning treatment.

Avatar f tn Up until Christmas 2010 I didn't do any excercise so I decided 2011 was the year to get back in shape after my 3rd child (now 2.5). I don't have a lot of weight to lose I'm 9st 12lb (5ft 4ins) and would like to get back to my pre-baby weight of 9st. I go to the gym 4-6 times a week doing circuits, kettlercise, cardio and weights, but I haven't lost an ounce of weight or any inches and I don't understand why.
481269 tn?1208280771 It worked great for me loosing weight. But, I do have 2 friends that mixed alcohol and phentermine and it was NOT a pretty site. It can increase some of the side effects of phentermine. It makes you have the ability to drink a lot more than you are used to, and it actually made both of my friends crazy in behavior.

Avatar m tn have your doctor do some blood work to make sure that it's not a kidney problem. They usually show up in blood work. Also dehydration can cause kidney problems. and if your kidneys hurt is' the lower back where it's going to show. Figure out how much water you drink in a day (vs. when you have a beer etc.) and any other medical conditions you might have. (And dude, you are 26 years old, what is up with you typing like a 12 year old??

Avatar n tn See what they have to say about treating vs. watching and waiting in your position, once you know what that position is. You can't know what to do until you have all the info. but you have plenty of time to let it all sink in and learn about it, there is no rush. I'm sure your doc told you, no alcohol, that is quite important as alcohol is like "fuel to the fire" to the evil Hep C virus.
Avatar m tn Others are able to start by controlling their blood pressure through life style changes. Things like maintaining proper weight. Know the target BMI and where your partner is. Begin trying to eat healthy. The DASH diet is a great thing to incorporate. This is similar to the Mediterranean Diet, Basically, less red meat, more fish. Less processed food, more vegetables and fruits. Exercise is important t exercise the heart but should consult with a doctor first. Less sodium. Less alcohol.
Avatar m tn Hi, I'm a ~41 year old male. I recently had blood work done and found my Testosterone is a little low. The "Free" Testosterone was 45 and the "Total, MS" was 217. It was recommended I get injections every 4 days to get those numbers up to at least 500. In doing a little extra research of my own (because I was curious if there are natural ways to boost my numbers), I can't help but notice a lot of this could be due to diet and alcohol consumption.
283921 tn?1218525506 Talk to your doctor about alternatives for lowering BP. I have have read that sugar, caffiene, alcohol, and stress can increase blood pressure, so try to reduce or elimate as many possible sources as you can. I have read that Omega3 fatty acids may decrease blood pressure. I have read celery, garlic and onions may reduce blood pressure.
Avatar n tn I have Hep C - 1b - Grade 1, Stage 1-waiting for better drugs-could not complete treatment. Anyway, I was doing a search for the alcohol threads to remind myself why social drinking is not acceptable and could not find them. I am not nor have ever been an alcoholic or heavy drinker, but I so miss certain socials and good wine with good food! In San Antonio, Texas there are so many festivals!
