Blood alcohol values

Common Questions and Answers about Blood alcohol values

alcohol

Avatar m tn s been 15 years almost that I discovered abnormal liver enzymes values, the 2 most recent abnormalities are summarized below; nobody has been able to provide a diagnosis or direct me to more specific tests other than the standard ecography + blood exams. Age: 28, Male, 76.
Avatar m tn Normal values for SGOT is 0-35 and SGPT is 4-36. Your lab values are raised. The values could be raised due to alcohol consumption. Was an ultrasonogram done? Did it show fatty changes? Fatty liver can be due to alcoholism when it is called Alcoholic fatty liver disease and the other one is Non alcoholic fatty liver disease, which is due to obesity, diabetes and high triglyceride levels. In addition to avoiding alcohol, avoid smoking also. Avoid drugs like paracetamol and sedatives.
Avatar n tn Help me understand - what are the units of cholesterol in? I am not familiar with values of 5.2 or 5.8 - also is this total cholesterol? Usually these numbers are more like in the 100-200 range so I am just a little confused. Your GGT is a little high, but what are your AST, ALT, and Alk Phos values? If those values are normal I wouldn't stress. Did you drink a day or two before you got your lab workup - if so it could just be a little spike from that (and thus no concern).
Avatar m tn High could mention anything form slightly higher than the normal range to 10x or 100x normal values. Different values mean different things. In order to answer your questions we need real numbers. Thanks.
Avatar n tn I had pain on the upper right abdomen.. gastro told me to get a sonogram and blood test.. The sonogram hasn't come yet.. but the blood said that everything was normal exept the ALT that was on 97 Does this means that i Hepatitis He told me that i got to get checked for hepatitis.. But i thought that for hepatitis the value must be very high.. Can someone give me advice on this matter and whats the rate for a patient with hepatitis.. Im scared..
Avatar n tn Lab tests for ethanol are measured in mg/DL (miligrams per decilitre.) To convert your results to blood alcohol level, move the decimal three places to the left. In your case, your BAC would be 0.18, which is above the legal drinking limit in the USA and Canada.
Avatar f tn my doctor just said because of blood test values that it was "recent" all info about blood lab values is getting more and more confusing. since first outbreak i assumed it had to be 2 to 20 before?
Avatar f tn Liver Function Tests or LFT does not indicate a recent intake of alcohol,it just determines the liver function enzymes values such as ALT and AST.Alcohol levels in blood can be determined by Alcohol breath test or by urinalysis. Although LFT determines the value of ALT and AST, it does not indicate the function of liver, but these values indicate the level of damage to liver,so you can call this test as Liver Damage Test.
Avatar m tn My GGT has remained high throughout tx. I don't worry about it. ALT and AST normal range. No alcohol in years.
Avatar f tn He is a social drinker and no smoking habits.His last 3 months blood test shows elevated values for bilirubin,ALT and AST. All other test are normal.The last lab test values are following Bilirubin Total- 1.6 mg/dl (Normal 0.3-1 mg/dl) Bilirubin Direct- 0.3 mg/dl (Normal 0.1-0.31 mg/dl) AST(SGOT)- 56 u/ml (Normal 5-55 u/ml) ALT(SGPT)- 100 u/ml (Normal 5-35 u/ml) Alkelie phosphate- 120u/l(Normal 100-250 u/l) Albumin - 4.0 g/dl (Normal 3.5-5.5 g/dl) Globulin - 2.8 g/dl (Normal 1.9-2.
Avatar n tn There is no difference whatsoever in variable index values, as long as all values are below the positive cut-off. The numerical differences have to do with the biochemistry of the test, not because a higher value specimen as "a little bit" of anti-HIV antibody. If the same blood specimen were tested 10 times, there would always be 10 different numerical values, which could be quite different from one another.
Avatar m tn 1 do these blood work values seem normal???? 2. Re the IGA value - my naturopath prescribed a payers patch remidy (Pleo Reb) (indicated to improve liver function and other organ function - apparently it is a homeopathic remidy used also for hepititis) - can this lead to increase in IGA. IS my IGA normal or not 3. Is there indication of cancer 4. what follow up should i be looking at. Thank you kindly.
9633935 tn?1411342802 This did not the doctor think was something to worry about. How do I read the response/values and what should I look for? Where isthe limit values? What does 12 mean? How much does that values effekt my body? The doctor say something like: that was high and something else, i cant remember was maby litle to low an that was not good he sad. What was low? And what does that affekt?
Avatar m tn Does anyone have any ideas why these values would be elevated and what could cause these blood test values to be elevated? What diseases could cause this?
Avatar f tn BUN: 38 and Crea: 2.2. He said that all other values are normal. He said that there is some kidney problem. As she is a greyhound and raw feed i know some values can be higher than "normal". But how high? The blood was taken 12hours after she had her last meal and 10 hours since she drunk water. she is also on cyclosporine and i've been told that this medication can increase creatine levels. Are this values saying that something is wrong with her kidney?
