Avatar n tn This infection can be suspected when there are symptoms of UTI and urinalysis detects pus cells and blood but no bacteria, and standard culture grows no organism. There are a few treatment regimens for Chlamydia; these include Azithromycin 1 g single dose, or doxycycline 100 mg twice daily for 7 days, or levofloxacin 500 mg once daily for 7 days, etc. All these regimens are administered orally.
Avatar n tn From the tissues, it gradually gets into blood, and the concentration in the tissues and blood tends to be the equal all the time. Blood takes the drug to the kidneys where it is metabolized. As a result, the concentration of Xanax in blood gets lower, but blood immediately washes some more Xanax out of the tissues. The process goes on until the dose of Xanax is eliminated completely.
Avatar f tn You have A large amount of blood in your urine which suggest that you may have inflammation or infection somewhere. Your red and white blood count are in normal ranges. The color of your urine is yellow/straw (normal) and the clarity is good. Everything else is in normal ranges as well. Talk to your doc to about the blood in urine if they have not already contacted you.
Avatar f tn My IOP program tests for alcohol in a urinalysis test. Yesterday was the super bowl and I did get pretty drunk, but stopped drinking before 9pm, and drank alot of water before bed. I was tested at 11:11am the following day. Will it show up positive for alcohol? I am ready for the consequences, but the waiting for test results is making me crazy.
Avatar n tn Since you are having kidney problems, so any kidney stones may be responsible fro causing blood in urine. You need to get an ultrasound KUB (kidneys, urinary bladder) and CT scan done to rule it out. The most common cause of oily urine is ketones in urine. These appear in individuals with uncontrolled diabetes and also during periods of starvation or a stringent dietary regimen.
Avatar f tn Recent urinalysis shows POCT U BLD at 50. Is this anything to be concerned about ?
Avatar n tn I need your input. I'm trying to figure out what is causing pain in my upper right abdominal cavity. It is a fairly localized pain, radiating towards the back. It started in December 2008. The pain was off and on, kind of a dull aching pain, but has started to become more frequent and more painful. I thought alcohol might be the cause (though I don't drink regularly - maybe two weekends a month, 5-10 drinks per weekend), but I took it easy and stopped drinking.
Avatar m tn Well, about a week ago, when urinating, toward the end of urinating I noticed blood come out, so I became extemely worreid, so I contacted my doctor. When I went he took urine sample. (its been a week since the doctors office visit) The day after the doctors visit, my left testicle began to become sore along with my left lower abdomen just above the base of my penis, so I called the doctor on call and he said to apply heat and take aleve and see how it felt in the moring.
Avatar m tn It seems like everytime I drink something I have to pee. WHY? It never used to be like this up to 9 months ago and prior. Have my muscles just gone weak down there? I used to be able to drink a whole bunch of liquids and just urinate after a couple of them, as it stands now though, I would probobaly have to pee after the first drink. I mean regular things too, not alcohol (which I haven't drank in about 10 months). The urologist has done a urinalysis and says that things are normal.
2020005 tn?1628125976 I'm 5w1d, and a couple of days ago got a urinalysis because I've been having burning when I pee, my OB said no UTI, but I'm wondering if a urinalysis will show a yeast infection? I'm pretty sure that's what I have - is there anything I can do to cure it from home?
Avatar m tn I had a urinalysis done to see if i had any infection. i went to urologist twice and he did the same test again. Both urine samples were clear. I had an ultrasound done that determined i have varicocele in my left side. But 2days now i felt some slight burnin sensation in my like inside my urethra just a lil quick burn for like a second it goes away this has happens like 3 times a day.i do not have any problem with urinating.
Avatar m tn Thanks for your response. 6 days later from the incident, would I have most likely had a discharge of pus or blood by now if I contracted chlamydia or gonorrhea? I have had neither as of now. What is an "actual" chlamydia and gonorrhea test? Blood test? I thought STDs could be tested through a urinalysis according to my physician.
Avatar n tn thanks for reply I went to gynecologist today, she did another urinalysis but had to send it out to lab I had blood work and a vaginal ultrasound they found I had an ovarian cyst, I have to go back in 6 weeks to have a repeat ultrasound, they say that the cyst can go away by itself, Could this be causing white blood cells in my urine? they said this could be why Im having flank pain, guess I will wait and see what my urinalysis shows I will keeop you posted thanks for your time.
250398 tn?1225263291 Thanks Dr. Mathews. Alcohol is not an issue, as I don't drink alcohol. I am a bit over my ideal weight, and have put myself on a target of dropping 20 pounds. With regard to high purine foods, what would this be (in other words, what food should I avoid)? Your help is much appreciated as I am remotely posted in a foreign country, where I have no access to western medical care without taking a 3 hour flight. So, I apologize for extended questions.
Avatar n tn Chronic kidney failure is diagnosed through a combination of recent and current symptom history, blood and urinalysis test results and any underlying cause hat may have contributed to the kidneys failing. Vets also commonly perform blood pressure testing and a scan and/or xray of the kidneys. With regard to blood creatinine ... it is not just the creatinine level that defines kidney failure, but also BUN (blood urea nitrogen levels) and several others.
Avatar f tn At the urologist office today the urine sample came back with couple + bacteria 50 to 75% white blood cells and 100% red blood cells. Then a cystscope was performed to determine where the blood was coming from because this was the major concern with all the urine samples. Blood was showing up in all of them. I was told that there was a red line in my bladder.
Avatar n tn high bp (as high as 167/102), daily headaches, extreme fatigue, amoung others. My dr has ran blood tests to check my kidneys, liver, white blood cell count, potassium, sodium, sugar and others... the only thing that came back abnormal was my blood sugar BUT it was a last minute test and I was not fasting. I went back and got my finger pricked and it came back just fine. I also had my urine tested that day and I had 250 mgs of glucose in it.
432376 tn?1266257738 Thanks for your comment. Yes, brookestar, I've had my kidneys checked by ultrasound, bloodwork and urinalysis. Can't be menstrul blood as I've been on depo for 5 years and no longer have a period. Thanks, though! although with uncontrolled high blood pressure and a diabetes diagnosis (which is totally under control) I wonder if that might also not be a cause. hmmm.....
Avatar f tn i have been tested for kidney problems, all blood tests and urinalysis came back normal. i would really appreciate any insight! thank you.
Avatar f tn Hello. Thank you for the response. No my although I asked my doctor if we could send urine off for culture he said there’s no need to because the urinalysis was fine & he can already tell based off a urinalysis if the urine from a culture will come back with bacteria or not. I believe I asked him twice. Only other urine test was for stds and that was negative.
