Avatar n tn I watched a documentary at the beginning of this year which was based on America finding. It showed that the UK guidance was giving mothers to be wrong information. Department of health States 1 or 2 small glasses of wine a week but the finding from American showed the startling effects on baby's movements etc. I've now just looked up updated unfortunately and now the department of health suggests nothing at all.
475570 tn?1280941363 Just recently the front pages of newspapers in the UK said "drinking lots of alcohol could save you from heart attacks, studies show heart disease is virtually non existant in alcoholics". What kind of statement is that to make, how irresponsible. I bet thousands of people are getting drunk every day to save their hearts, but destroying their brains, liver and kidneys.

Avatar m tn I got tested using postal blood test service provided by a company in the UK. Blood sampling kit for venous blood sample was sent by the company. Venous blood was taken by a qualified phlebotomist in a hospital and I then sent it to an accredited private medical laboratory in London in the envelope provided by the company. I was informed about the results by the company (over phone, via email, via secure login on their website and also by post).
Avatar m tn Currently on holiday in Egypt so cannot test until back in the UK, so any advice would be greatly appreciated as my anxiety is in overdrive. Could this perhaps be a coincidental fungal infection ?
Avatar f tn t do screening colonoscopies in the UK. But I suspect they only do that after a fecal occult blood test that indicates further investigation - you put tiny samples of your stool on a special card or cloth and send it to a lab. The lab uses chemicals to find blood that you can't see with the naked eye. With some test kits, you can add the chemicals yourself at home. FOBT tests don't cost much. Some say the test should be done every year after age 50.
4043310 tn?1355912647 have a drink after your done feeding. And it'll take about 2-3 hours after the alcohol to process out. mind you the drink should only have 1 oz of hard alcohol in it. So 1 shot of hard liquor per mixed drink. give your body 2-3 hours to process out the alcohol per 1 oz of hard alcohol, or 1 beer, or 1 glass of wine. pump and have milk put up if you plan on having a few drinks. And pump & dump them milk that probably still has the alcohol in it.

923105 tn?1341827649 Ess is (of course) right on about the potential for liver damage. Interferons can cause it. Alcohol can cause it. I bet mixing the two more than doubles the risk. Alcohol shouldn't be mixed with Baclofen, antidepressants, pain medications, etc. You are right -- It simply isn't helpful in the long run. I doubt your friends will be overly concerned about any risks to their health because 1) Alcohol may be serving to decrease some of their parasthesia sensations (a treatment!

AS EVER HBV patients draw the short straw whilst all the other groups hep c hemophiliacs HIV all got mentioned but HEP B NOT ONCE! In terms of funding HBV gets far less than the any others yet the HBV community is larger globally than all the others put together and more die of it!
