After looking at the quest diagnostic site (which is where I am going) I became more paranoid because it talks about blood test with and without confirmation urine. My script just says urine drug and alcohol screening and I think the blood work is just for my viral load, AFP, CBC W/Diff, CMP (chem 14), PT/PTT. I don't really know what all of this is but the bottom line is I have to get treatment and I don't want to risk being denied. I need to just talk to my doctor.

I agree that you need to make your inquiries to the drug screening group. Best of luck with the drug screening. I had blood/urine screening every second day for two years, and managed a clean bill every time. You can do it!!

The last time i tested at 6.5 months and turned negative.

Take Ativan 1mg 3 times daily for over 3 years all my screening drug test results have been positive for benzodiazapenes which is consistant with my medication, but a GCMS confirmation came back negative for Benzo's. Is this normal? I am seeing a Dr. for pain management for 2 1/2 years, but have been on Ativan from my Physciatrist for over 3 years, take it faithfully.

Hi, I hope my question will not be ridiculous. But i'm worried about it. I went for an HIV quich blood test. There was 20 other guys in the room doing HIV test as well. So i enter in the room and the doctor used the small device on my finger (needle) in order to collect blood from my finger and use it for the test. After i went back on a chair and waited for the result. While i was waiting, i put the blaster given by the doctor. I waited 20mn and get my result which was negatif.

I peeled off this loose skin and then sanitized the open cut on my knuckle with more rubbing alcohol, but I only felt a slight sting after applied rubbing alcohol to the opening. Later I washed the cut with water and then it start to bleed more and to hurt more. It appeared the cut on my knuckle was not severe and the guy did not have any visible nose and teeth bleeding. It is always a good idea for people with Hepatitis C to stay away from alcohol. Usually medical health professionals make this pretty clear prior to treatment. It sounds as though you have a 'reactive' screening test with a low signal and a neg Riba test. If so, this is good news. A neg Riba test means no antibody to Hcv is circulating in your blood stream.

It should have no effect. If the screening method for HIV can be effected from alcohol and throw back a false-positive (because I am not familiar if the test is effected by that or not, but I highly doubt that it is), the lab would run a confirmatory test anyways, and the confirmatory tests would only look for the HIV RNA in your body, not anything else. Which means: Either way, you will get an accurate result, regardless of alcohol consumption.

Hi I am a male, age 29. I had to get a blood test done at the doctor's office last week for Arthritis screening. That part came out normal but my liver function is 92. The nurse said it should be 39 or below. I am worried sick. The doctor wants another blood test and an ultra sound of my adomen. This is all of the information that I could get. I have a few blood vessels too, but the only way to make them stop growing is to take care of your diabetes and never let the sugar blood goes up too much! Im lucky if i get 5 mins with her all she does is use the doppler to hear heart beat and rushes me out! Im going to change OB but really am stressing about if blood tests and screening that should of been provided already???

Also forgot to add, returned negative on Hep screening and no alcohol consumption in past 4 years.
