Avatar n tn i live in Ohio, work in the treatment field and there is no Ohio law that will allow one to probate another in2 alcohol/drug treatment.I doubt there is one in Illinois that permits that! Also if one goes to an inpatient program...and they leave against staff advice....the insurance company can refuse to pay for what treatment they had!I suggest u check out some Al-Anon meetings in your area ASAP!

19950044 tn?1487196584 I went for a 2nd opinion back in my state of OHIO where their Drs., regardless of already having previous dignosis, dont belive that im in pain when I go to the hospital with a flare up. They dont belive I have pancreatitis even though one of the top Dr.s for the pancreas in the nation diagnosed me! They send me home every single time. Im no longer on pain meds. When I talk to any DR. that treats me at my local hospital they have no clue what Spincter or Odi Disfuction type 3 is.
Avatar f tn I am not too familiar with blood alcohol, but I would think that maybe you could have been dehydrated and that could have caused the reading. Try drinking more water next time.

Avatar n tn Hi alcohol can cause low blood sugar levels for some due to its effect on the liver. But even more it can cause those person with diabetes to pay less attention to their health and blood sugars. This does not mean you can never drink alcohol, But it should be taken in moderation only. When you do have a first drink (remember moderation) do it in the company of a trusted friend so you can safely see the effect it has on you.
645390 tn?1338555377 Michelle, My Pysch exam was pretty straight forward. He asked about how many kids I had, ages, etc. How much alcohol or recreational drugs I consumed. Meds I take, did I feel depressed about my illness. DH went with me as my letter advised. They asked him 2 questions. Was I depressed and if so, did I take meds for it, Actually, no judging at all. I felt the same way going in as you do but it was no big deal. BTW, depression alone can be a reason to award disability in some states.
Avatar n tn i have suspected some sort of metabolic disorder but i do have many symptoms similar to diabetes also (frequent urination-especially at night, very high triglyceride levels and high blood sugar). But unfortunately i have never gotten a diagnosis for diabetes or any answers from an endocrinologist or dermatologist after consultation. I do so much appreciate you responding to my post. I will just continue to research and perhaps i will some day know the answer.

Avatar f tn Yes, alcohol affects blood sugar level - Each and Every time it's consumed. that being said, High blood sugar and high blood alcohol content would be 2 separate elements measured in Your blood. 80% of the alcohol from EVERY drink goes directly to the blood stream and, THAT is why You have high blood alcohol content. Four drinks would put everyones' blood alcohol above the legal limit Alcohol is harmful to the body - as is diabetes.

Avatar m tn My doctor has suddenly started asking for a urine test each month to prescribe my medicine. I have been taking this for years now and never been asked before. The medicine is xanax and is for the shakes i occasionally get with graves disease. Does anyone know if this is required by the state(Ohio) or federal govt? My bill for this test is $450 each this is monthly as doesn't make sense. Obviously this is more than the regular visit and my prescriptions.
Avatar f tn Eat foods that are high in antioxidents this will assist your liver with removing toxins from alcohol. Exercise will force blood in to the muscles pushing out the toxins as well. Do this a long with the water and you will be feeling and smelling much better. If you ever drink again you will smell like this forever so don't do it! lol j/k I wish you the best!
Avatar m tn This may sound like an odd question, but for our frat we are looking to have our initiation include us drinking a large cup filled with 90 proof alcohol and added a single drop of blood from 8 people. Is this safe? Will the alcohol kill diseases, pathogens, and bacteria in the blood? If this is not the right place to ask it please refer me to another place.
