Avatar n tn Hi alcohol can cause low blood sugar levels for some due to its effect on the liver. But even more it can cause those person with diabetes to pay less attention to their health and blood sugars. When you do have a first drink (remember moderation) do it in the company of a trusted friend so you can safely see the effect it has on you.
Avatar m tn The answer you got depends on the nomogram used. You used the DONO. If you had used the NAPA (Nichamin Age Pachymetry Adjusted); your eye will need two 70 degree arcs (I put in an age of 65). However, this is depth adjusted and a peripheral pachymetry needs to be done. Most doctors are not comfortable correcting this much astigmatism and do not do depth adjusted LRIs. This require a micrometer adjusted LRI blade which is much more expensive that a fixed depth blade.

Four drinks would put everyones' blood alcohol above the legal limit Alcohol is harmful to the body - as is diabetes.
