Avatar f tn This has evolved into severe fatigue. His many blood tests have all been within normal limits or only slightly elevated. No neurologic component has been found. He has now had an echocardiogram, angiogram, electrical physiology study, and tilt-table test. He wore a 24 hour monitor and now has a 30 day monitor. The cardiologist has gone from over-medication with blood pressure medications to "wrong medication" to bradycardia with missed beats to orthostatic hypotension.
Avatar f tn 29 oz) If you have 2 of that size within that hour your blood alcohol level will go up. If you have two in less than half an hour you will no doubt be over the legal driving limit. Women metabolise alcohol faster than men, and smaller bodies do so faster as well. So No, the Graves is not the issue. The amount and time of the drinking is the issue. I know from having been in the US the glass for wine is huge....here in Australia we have a law that it must be only 275ml or less.

Avatar n tn High uric acid levels could lead to gout. However, there is no standard reference level as each person's acid level is interpreted by height, weight, age, etc. The lab should have printed out the reference range for your individual state and your doctor can tell you where you are. High alcohol consumption does increase uric acid as does eating high-purine foods, such as sardines, herring, liver, deer meat. etc. The advice of fin777 is correct. Watch your diet and exercise.

Avatar n tn Hello. I just bought a pulse and blood oxygen meter to monitor my heart rate. However, I noticed that when walking my blood oxygen level drops into the 80's and my pulse jumps up to 115 or higher (this is with just light walking through a store). I do have a heart condition. I have swelling around my heart and my pericardial sac is slightly thickened to around 4mm. Could my heart problem be causing this or is this something else?
Avatar n tn Also pls decrease his alcohol intake.Enzymes which aid in breakdown of alcohol are synthesized by the liver and so consumption of alcohol also adds to the extra pressure. Avatar f tn Hi I was on Vitamin b12 supplement to treat a defficiency, then due to cervical discarthrosis my doctor prescribed injections of non steroidal anti-inflammatory in combination with vitamin b12. Now, I find myself with very high blood level of vitamin b12 (3650 pg/ml) compared to the normal level (200 - 900 pg/mL). Late in the summer, i started to experience anxiety attacks. I read a lot about the relation between anxiety attacks and high vitamin b12 levels.
Avatar m tn Symptoms of water intoxication actually look a lot like the symptoms of alcohol intoxication, including nausea, altered mental state, and vomiting. Also headaches, muscles weakness and convulsions. In severe cases, coma and death. Your high water consumption can be from anxiety or because of a physical reason. You need to immediately see a doctor, tell him of your situation, including the alcohol, and get a complete blood workup. And of course get your blood pressure checked.
Avatar m tn over here in USA that is a VERY HIGH blood alcohol level!3x the normal limit of what is considered legally intoxicated!
Avatar n tn I would tell your brother to abstain from alcohol, pain meds (tylenol), supplements, etc for one month and re-test blood including another Hepatitis panal. If liver enzymes are still elevated make appointment with a liver specialist (Hepatologist).
Avatar f tn Yes, alcohol affects blood sugar level - Each and Every time it's consumed. that being said, High blood sugar and high blood alcohol content would be 2 separate elements measured in Your blood. 80% of the alcohol from EVERY drink goes directly to the blood stream and, THAT is why You have high blood alcohol content. Four drinks would put everyones' blood alcohol above the legal limit Alcohol is harmful to the body - as is diabetes.
481269 tn?1208280771 It is not recommended. I have taken Phentermine several times in the past and I was told by my DR. to AVOID drinking alcohol while taking phentermine. Phentermine is a stimulant that is similar to an amphetamine. It is an appetite suppressant that affects the central nervous system. It worked great for me loosing weight. But, I do have 2 friends that mixed alcohol and phentermine and it was NOT a pretty site. It can increase some of the side effects of phentermine.

Avatar n tn If I drank 2 bottles of white wine wednesday night and need to take a blood alcohol level test on friday will it be positive?
Avatar n tn The hospital doctor said he should be able to resume normal activities as long as he stops drinking (moderate alcohol consumer) and checks in monthly for regular bloodwork. The hospital doctor made it sound like everything would now be fine with those caveats. The gastroenterologist has ordered blood work but can't see my friend for full evaluation and diagnosis of cause until July.
