Avatar m tn The term “nanog/ml” is a measurement of concentration (amount) of a substance in a given volume of liquid (in this case blood). It stands for nanograms (a unit of measure for weight) per milliliter (a unit of measure for volume). Benzoylecgonine is a metabolite (the body changes substances put into it into other substances that can be measured) of the narcotic cocaine and can be measured by urine or hair samples and allows someone to tell long-term if an individual has used this substance.

Avatar f tn The acute effects of alcohol depend on the concentration of alcohol in the blood (directly correlated with the amount and time of drinking). Initially, alcohol generally produces feelings of relaxation and cheerfulness, but further consumption can lead to blurred vision and coordination problems. After excessive drinking, unconsciousness can occur and extreme levels of consumption can lead to alcohol poisoning and death. Hence, it is definitely not due to stroke or heart attack.
8323481 tn?1405705654 Hi everyone, as my previous posts have questioned the use of suboxone, I just wanted to be honest and state that I will not be counting clean time until I am tapered off. Happily, I have been off alcohol since June 10th. But with taking suboxone, and doing research on it, I don't feel clean.
Avatar f tn With that being said the concentration of alcohol in your breast milk also reflects that of your blood. So if you have one drink your breast milk won't contain the same amount of alcohol as the drink, it'll contain the same amount of alcohol at your blood, which for an average sized person would be about 0.

Avatar f tn That pace is .015 of blood alcohol concentration (BAC) per hour. So that means for every hour you are not drinking, .015 of the alcohol in your body is being metabolized and disappearing from your body (thanks to David J. Hanson, Ph.D. for this information). So, if your BAC was 0.08 (legally impaired), it would take about 5.33 hours for the alcohol to be eliminated from your body." Hope that helps.
Avatar f tn Alcohol is metabolized at the rate of .015 of blood alcohol concentration (BAC) every hour. Ask this question through Google. then do the math.
Avatar f tn I know this is very hard to understand, and trust me, it is very hard to describe. Could this be a blood sugar issue? Blood pressure? A result of drinking 3 or 4 stiff drinks the night before? Related to caffeine? Anyone have any ideas. I am so healthy normally that this scares me.
Avatar n tn I recently went to a doctor and he said there is a good chance that I had Acute Alcoholism Hepatitis. By reading about this and and comparing it to my alcohol consumption I have a hard time thinking that this is what I have. It also has a 50-60% chance of death within the first 30 days, and I felt bad but not that bad. Does anyone know what other Hepatitis you can have that it pretty much goes away after about 30 days.

Avatar f tn I have in that context some questions for you 1) According to interaksjoner.no (interaction.no) wellbutrin increases the concentration of Efexor 3 times when combined with Wellbutrin. It will therefore give an increase of 3 times the concentration of Efexor in the blood if I start directly on 150 mg Wellbutrin. This will give the insane sideeffects. Will there be a solution to cut straight down to Efexor 75 mg same day that I start with Wellbutyrin?
Avatar f tn I have had a numbness in mainly my left big toe, less noticeable in my right one, for at least a year and a half. It hasn't been very noticeable and I occasionally forgot about. I went to the doctor finally to get my blood checked after I realized it wasn't going away, should have done this earlier. My doctor told me that I have gout and to cut way back on alcohol and bread. I've read the definition and I've never had a painful "gout attack.
Avatar n tn Alcohol causes headache as a result of its effects on blood sugar. If you already have hypoglycemia, an alcohol-related drop in blood sugar may bring on head pain. Some alcoholic beverages contain tyramine, histamines, and impurities introduced during the fermentation process, which can also cause a painful headache. Drinking alcohol also causes you to urinate a lot, which can dehydrate your brain cells and cause headaches. It will go away on its own. Refer http://www.headachenech.
5955551 tn?1377316619 Alcohol in the blood is literally toxic to heart cells. The more you drink at one time, the higher your blood alcohol concentration, and the greater the toxicity. People with healthy hearts are usually able to tolerate even the occasional excess intake of alcohol, because they have a few heart cells to spare, so to speak. If you don't have any heart cells to spare, though, then you probably shouldn't drink alcohol at all.
Avatar n tn I did *not* receive an email notice of this reply, even though I am set to receive instant notices [and usually do] and even though this thread is definitely marked to be watched ['stop watching' is seen by me right now as an option on the top of this page]. Have you been getting reports of site technical malfunctions?
Avatar m tn Hi all! I would like to know about alcohol caused blackouts..if we take a period of time from let's say 8 pm to 11 pm and the blackout starts at 8 pm and until 8:20 pm I don't remember anything and after that start remembering and do NOT drink more..does it mean that the peak concentration is over and I will not blackout anymore (I.e. from 9 pm until 9:10 pm) or it is still possible (if I ate before and alcohol is slowly absorbing during those periods).
