Avatar f tn U have to come up w/the $$$4 for an ankle monitor!the court assumes if u had the $$$ to get intoxicated and the bad judgment to drive a car afterwards then it is ur responsibility to pay for ur own ankle monitor!
Avatar m tn Blood pressure is affected by gravity. If you are standing and measuring your blood pressure at ankle level, you are going to see some amazing numbers (just try), probably 220/180 or so. The explaination is fairly simple: 1 mmHg (millimeter of mercury) is equivalent to approx. 0,75 cm of water (as the density of mercury is approx. 13 times as high as water).
Avatar f tn I have a house arrest ankle monitor on and just found out I have cancer want to do a EKG on my heart my question is will the leg monitor interfear with my EKG
Avatar f tn They go around my ankle, like an ankle bracelet. I also have just one on the other ankle. They do not itch or hurt. They are barely raised. I am living with a friend right now and sleep on an inflatable mattress. I also went on a hike in the mountains near them about a week ago. Any ideas? Thanks!
Avatar f tn I have had terrible anxiety and I also have agoraphobia this past week. I took my blood pressure in a drugstore and all zeros showed,I could not get a reading(3times). My daughter then purchased a wrist blood pressure kit and that read my blood pressure. Why didn't a reading show on a cuff monitor? I see a cardiologist and I am on meds for HBP. This happened to me about 10 years ago at a doctors office when I had extreme anxiety.
Avatar f tn My husband had ankle surgery on Dec. 4th. He had two procedures done including graphing/sealing a hole in his ankle bone and ligament tightening. Sorry, I cannot remember the medical terminology for the first procedure. He is non-weight bearing on crutches until at least Feb. 1, at his next appt. and doctor says it will probably be a cane after that? Not sure how he can go straight to a cane, where he will have to walk on his foot, when he has not been allowed to put any weight on it yet.
Avatar n tn If there was no trauma or injury, it can be attributed to being overweight, excessive alcohol intake, blood clot in the leg, leg infection and structural problems like veins in the legs cannot properly pump blood back to the heart. If it persists, it is best that you refrain from drinking alcohol at this point and have this checked by your doctor for proper evaluation and to rule out heart, kidney, or liver failure. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn 2 weeks ago i was working on a trauma patient who had a compound fracture to the ankle (with lots of blood) pt was possible drug user, definite alcohol abuser living in south central LA. to get to the point while treating him a paramedic accidentally brushed my arm with a bloody glove. checked my arm and there was a small amount of blood close to an abrasion from a day before. i wasn't to worried about the incident till now as i am experiencing a decent sore throat, occasional headaches.
Avatar n tn Hi, I have recently started getting hives after consuming alcohol. hives appear on both feet (around ankle) and back of palm (dorsal side) after a day or two and stays for 5-7 days. This didn't happen earlier. I don't have any known food allergies. Even though I don't have yet, my father has eczema. Also I have recently developed a Ganglionic Cyst on my face. I'm not sure if this is relevant to my allergic reaction to alcohol. But, what is the reason for Ganglionic Cyst?
Avatar n tn I am wondering what is the maximum normal blood pressure rise during cardiovascular exercise on a stationary bike? For a 30 year old male in average physical shape? I think it may be going up too much, but I can't be sure because my store bought BP monitor won't take while I'm exercising. Would I get an accurate reading if I stopped exercising just long enough to get the reading, or would the BP drop too quickly and throw me off?

8186845 tn?1415020547 I took out the trash today and as I stepped down into the garage, I blacked out, rolled my ankle and have no idea how I landed. Although Im pretty sure on my shoulder as my whole left side was dirty and shoulder was achy. I came to just as the UPS guy was dropping off a package. He helped me into the house and get ahold of my hubby. Drs say my blood pressure is rising and have me on weekly visits. Im 34 weeks...
Avatar m tn Hence if both ankles are swelling then you will need to get heart function assessed by ECHO and EKG, get kidney and liver function tests done and get a complete blood picture for anemia. Low sodium in blood, hypothyroidism and malabsorption syndromes causing low protein in blood have to be looked into. Bruising could be due to fragile spider veins. Deficiency of Vitamin B12, folic acid, or Vit K could be the cause. The swelling could be causing the unease in your legs.
Avatar f tn even went to second Podiatrist, who injected in the scar sight/alcohol...He said I had an ankle deformity. He tried anestetic,1st time, which worked...but only lasted 1-2 hrs.. Had a new mri showed no neuroma, but 2nd Dr.stated they don't always show on MRI. I pretty much have given up.
Avatar f tn Beta Blockers make you tired. On alcohol, a dr once told me "a glass or two of wine is fine, a bottle or two will kill you". Also with lowered EF your body will hold on to fluid more, drinking more fluids doesn't help CHF. I use a wrist-cuff automatic blood pressure monitor and a fingertip O2/heart rate monitor, each about $15 at that online retailer named after a S. American river.
380309 tn?1246467740 You can not submerge so no swimming or bubblebaths. The bracelet monitor alcohol through perspiration thru your skin. When you drink you secrete ethanol and the metal sensors on each side of the strap send a message to somewhere in Colorado and they in turn notify the idiot who put in on me and he calls my nice PO and they all get together and try to hang me.
Avatar n tn She should have balanced diet, keep her blood pressure under control, proper sleep, stress less life, no alcohol and no smoking and if these symptoms do not decrease then follow up near a physician. Take care!
1359524 tn?1282691910 t really notice it, unless he is standing stationary for a while. When he is sitting, it happens occassionally to one ankle(the left) and not so much to the other ankle. I don't think it is a mandatory symptom to have in order to be diagnosed with POTS, just one of many possible symptoms. My son also doesn't ever faint, and his dizziness is mild compared to what I read others experience. Everyones symptoms and severity of symptoms is different.

Avatar f tn Well I thought I was the only one and I am so happy I started doing some research. So I'm 25 years old, and have been drinking pretty heavily for the past 3 years (about 4-5 times a week) Recently though I have started having very bad side effects. I am a social worker so my job can be super stressful at times. The first incident that happened I was actually in a clients house and out of nowhere I started to feel extremely dizzy, light headed, and my heart rate was through the roof.
Avatar n tn Low sodium in blood, hypothyroidism and malabsorption syndromes causing low protein in blood have to be looked into. Hypothyroidism generally causes non-pitting edema. I suggest you consult a cardiologist and an internal medicine specialist and get this investigated. Take care!
