bloating under ribs

I have been having pressure under my right rib cage - it feels like a football is stuffed under it. I had a complete set of blood tests done 4 days ago and everything was normal - except my AST which was slightly elevated (63, normal scale has 37 as a high), but my AST has been slightly elevated for 4 years and past tests (4 years ago) included CT scan, MRI, ultraousnd and hepatitis blood tests all showed nothing wrong. Any idease of what the pressure under my right rib cage may be? Thanks!

I also have lots of gas, stomach ache and have recently been experiencing a pain on my left side under my ribs. I have had an ultrasound and blood tests and these all seem fine. Can anyone help me as my doctor doesn't seem to know what's going on. Thank you for your time.

I also noticed pain under the left ribs and sometimes pain below the right ribs. Burning pain and constant. I had been taking 600 mg Motrin TID since January 2008 as I was in a car accident (rear ended). My chiropractor told me to stop taking them as I may have an ulcer. I stopped taking them approx. 2 1/2 weeks ago. I have noticed above the belly button is somewhat less tender but I am still have constant pain ...sharp and burning in the sternum area.

Ive been having pains under my ribs all day long, they come & go. They feel like somethings cramping up or something idk but my mother in law said it was gas. I hope she's right & I hope it goes away soon :/ anyway else can relate or understand what im talking about?

I have been having sort of a pressure in the URQ of my abdomen right under my right ribs for about a month now. Its kinda hard to describe, but it sometimes feels like I have a sock balled up below my ribs. When I push on it, it sort of gurgles and feels better for a while, but it always comes back. It doesn't really hurt, at most I would call it a gentle pain, more of a discomfort really.

im about 4 week into my pregnancy (just found out) and for the last 2 days ive been having this feeling of being full of air...its not at my pubic area, but seems to be right under my ribs...any ideas what it is and how to deal with it? i fee like i cant get enough air, but that im full of it, makes no sense! its not heart burn and im able to pass gas so im at a loss!

I remember carrying my babies so high and feeling like everything was shoved up under my ribs. But I think it was later in pregnancy. I never had this bloating. Of course, that was 28, 26 and 24 year ago so my memory might not be so good....

I am having pain on my right side under my ribs(feels like something internal). When i move or eat is when the pain becomes stronger. I went to the doctors they did blood tests and urine test everything normal. I dont know what to do about it . Its very uncomfortable and when i have pain it goes from my belly to the side and then up the ribs(so like liver area). Any suggestions?

Like many people on this forum i have been suffering since April 2012 with severe bloating and pain under my right rib cage. The pain becomes more prominent and uncomfortable after i have eaten.I can only describe the feeling of bloatedness as sore,burning sensation like a balloon about to burst. The pain under my ribs however is as if someone is poking a sharp object into me?? At times it takes my breath away.......i feel it pretty much all of the time but more so after food intake.

Before the surgery I had complaits of left side aching/bloating (usually right under the ribs and down) After the surgery the surgeon told me he looked around in the area and saw nothing out of the ordinary. He seemed puzzed about the left side area and told me to see my GI about it. About 3 days after the surgery, it all started back so I started a low fat diet and it has eased up a little.

I have a bicornuate uterus also, and it never caused me pain under my ribs (or anywhere else). She might have endometriosis, or something else. Keep looking for an answer, it's not the shape of her uterus.

Last night, I was getting side cramps on my left side a little under my ribs and it felt like I had just ran a 5K race and the side aches were unbearable. This afternoon I was laying down and noticed that to the left of my belly button there was a hard lump the size of a medium sized orange. At first I believed it was just gas or bloating because I was constipated but the past week I have been regular with my bowel movements. Is this normal?

Are you still having same problem and have you found cause though testing? I can drink ensure and feel like right side of ribs will explode or implode. drs don't seem to think it is gastroparesis I was orig diagnosed with and treatment for Sod didn't help for long. Even water can bring me to knees in pain. I had impression ulcer wouldn't be under ribs but want to know what you learn. Hope things better.

Instead, every single time I eat, i feel immediately bloated as though something is being blocked. I then have extreme pain and swelling feeling under my ribs, but mostly under my right rib along with burning back pain. It's horrible. Some days i want to die as it's hard living like this. I take a lot of fiber as i now have extreme constipation. I go from constipation to diarrhea - there is no in between even though i eat a lot of fibre. I don't know what to do anymore.

m getting like a kicking throbbing feel in the top of stomach. Like under my ribs. But thank you so much for your advice. I'm just worried with the fact of the throbbing under my ribs :/ it's happened about 5 times now, it's not a strong strong kick/throb it's quite light but different ..

My 14 year old daughter was just diagnosed with acid reflux and now she has been experiencing pain in her left side under the rib and in the middle of her back.

It is causing me a lot of problems, discomfort and pain. The pain is up against or under my ribs and I often feel like I have a pinched side on both sides. Kind of like when you swim after eating. After a few days of constipation I began to have watery stools, so I would radiate back and forth from constipation to diarrhea. I then began to have left upper quadrant pain just under my ribs that radiate under my shoulder blade and sometimes to my lower abdomen. I have joint pain and sharp pains throughout my body, and chest pain, mainly on the left side. Over the course of these two months I have lost 10 pounds.

When you stand up and walk around the pressure is relieved because everything kind of sags down rather than pushes up under our ribs, and whatever is interfering with the rythm is freed of pressure and it all stops once the bloating goes down. It takes a couple of hours for the stomach to partly empty in the duodenum which is lower down and then things relax. Do you take anything for your bloating? Antacid of any kind? Try Zantac effervescent and take some in water before you have a meal.

im 13 weeks an I just started to get pains on my ribs and under my ribs an I just freeze because it hurts so much I can't even breath, it only last for abt 10-15 seconds but it's really painful. Do any of you get this feeling ??
