Avatar f tn Now, this all isnt enough blood to fill a tampon or pad. I have never had any spotting while on the birth control until now. My bf and I do have unprotected sex and he ejaculates inside me every time, whish is about once or twice a week. I have been stressed with school and everything else. I dont really know what to do. Could i be pregnant? Could there be something wrong with me? Or is this normal?

364288 tn?1300148106 I have been on Ortho Tri Lo but the past few months I'm having bleeding between periods with it. My OB decided this past week that I need a all-month high dose instead of the low, medium, high dose pack that the Lo has. She called in a new kind but I forget the name...haven't picked it up yet because I need to finish out the Lo pack first. We'll see! I will say the Lo has made my periods a breeze, very mild cramps if any and no PMS.
Avatar n tn It is common to have irregular vaginal bleeding or breakthrough bleeding while on Levlen between your periods. Irregular vaginal bleeding may stop after your body has adjusted to LEVLEN which may be after about 3 cycles.Brevicon can also cause breakthrough bleeding. Illness, medication, nutritional deficiencies, hormonal changes, stress or rapid variations in weight, disorders affecting the thyroid gland all can lead to irregular menstrual cycles. Take a balanced diet and a healthy meal.
Avatar f tn You soooo CAN get pregnant while breastfeeding I did twice it is not a birth control at all. I ended up getting a mirena iud inserted, it was great we had no problems with it and when we were ready to try again I got it out and we were preggers within that first cycle.
Avatar n tn I am 23 years old and since the middle of January I have been experiencing irregular spotting between my periods. I am on birth control pills which I take every day at the same time. My spotting ranges from barely noticable when i wipe to period like. I only have the slighted bit of cramping with it, and about a week ago I noticed that when I used a tampon only one side is saturated with blood.
Avatar f tn I doubt you're pregnant since you had your period, but it could be an infection, that causes irregular bleeding between periods, I had this once and it was a bacterial infection, and I've had them while pregnant too, they're a pain in the butt!
1703515 tn?1350503831 Bleeding between your periods and spotting is common with birth control patch. Bleeding while on the patch should be discussed with your doctor. A clinical evaluation may be necessary. Keep me posted. Best luck and regards!
Avatar m tn No, you should continue with the placebo pills. Spotting, and bleeding in between periods is possible while on pills. It may start in the first cycle or may occur after prolonged use. With spotting in between periods, the possibility of pregnancy remains, especially in cases where there is a history of missed pills. Even if you have not missed the pills, take a pregnancy test if you miss your next periods. Also please inform your gynecologist about this spotting.
Avatar n tn from what i here is some women need to be on birth control for a while to regulate their periods to teach their bodies. Maybe you should go back on birth control for a while longer and then start.
Avatar f tn so I am considering the copper IUD because it seems like a great option and doesn't have ANY hormones. do any of you woman have any experience with this birth control method? how did it go?
Avatar f tn Hello, The commonest cause of bleeding between periods or after intercourse is hormonal imbalance. The two hormones regulating a woman’s cycle are estrogen and progesterone. If they get out of balance, one may have spotting. Dysfunctional ovaries as in PCOD, thyroid gland problems, and starting and stopping birth control pills or any other birth control method can all affect your hormone balance. Bleeding after sex can indicate some serious problem.
Avatar f tn Hi- This is a little complicated but I have a lot of questions, and I really appreciate any help I can get. I wanted to get pregnant, but I'm on Seasonale birth control. My period is the worst experience, and I dread getting it. (It's so heavy I soak a pad and a tampon together every hour, and I get the worst migranes and backache.) So I skip it usually. Anyhow, starting on May 7 I started to take my pill irregularly, and continued to have unprotected sex.
1422615 tn?1334067834 vaginal bleeding and menstruation (period), but it is usually vaginal bleeding that women confuse as their periods. Avatar f tn Hi ladies I'm 33n5 so I do have a lil bit of time to figure it out but what do u think would be the best birth control..I want to get on it asap but I hear a lot of bad things about it so I'm very skeptical about it.
676912 tn?1332816151 I had no clue whatsoever that my birth control prevents ovulation. I've never been on birth control, and didn't fully understand how it worked. My doctor offered no advice, just left to check what kind they had and returned only for a quick pop in to say my prescription was sent to the pharmacy, where they instructed me on when to take it only. So, yes I could have asked the pharmacist, and hind sight is always 20-20...
541196 tn?1293556536 I had some dark spotting about 4 days after I stopped which lasted about 1 day. Since starting the birth control I have been very regular and very light periods... very similar to the dark spotting. Even before the pill I was very regular. My question is... for most people with regular cycles... would that dark spotting after stopping the pack be the beginning of my newly timed cycle and ovulation fall into the normal time line or will it be a long time before I am regular?
Avatar n tn 15 days ago was time for my 6th period without birth cotrol and it still hasnt came. Can birth control cause you to not have a period after 6 months even though your periods being normal the first few months?
Avatar n tn Started taking birth control pill (alleesee) in June so this is just fairly recent. I was in between heavy and moderate bleeding the last 2 periods but took Ibuprofen since I was hunched over in pain. My questions are: What is a reasonable amount of time to be on the pill in the hopes that it will help get rid of the cyst and for it to be effective in reducing/stopping dysmenorrhea?
Avatar f tn to see what was wrong with my body bc i went almost 4 years without ever having a normal period, if even one at all. Well, all she did was give me the birth control patch (which you change out every wk & on the 4th wk you do not have to wear one bc you are about to start your period). While I would recommend the patch for ppl who would forget about taking the pill, i am struggling a bit. On the 4th wk i started my period like i should and it has went down hill since.
Avatar n tn Am I supposed to stick it out and keep feeling yucky or should switch back to my birth control that I had basically no problems with except minor breakthrough bleeding? I start my first real job next week and I had to buy all new work clothes b/c I didn't fit into ones I had already! Any opinions??
988694 tn?1332363079 Watch your tsh now that you are going on birth control pills. I went on birth control to prepare for IVF, and my tsh was 1.77 at the end of June and a month later, 4.84! I blame the birth control, but my meds were increased to two pills a day (I was only taking one a day and two on Sunday). I went off of birth control and now I am back down to 1.9 in less than 2 weeks. Hoping to see it even lower in a few more weeks.
Avatar n tn I was put on Yasmin after having an ovarian cyst and dysfunctional bleeding-not for birth control. I was a healthy 40 year old non-smoker/non-drinker. After 2 months and 1 week on Yasmin, I suffered a stroke due to a blood clot in my brain caused by this drug. I will be on Warfarin possibly for the rest of my life and will be at an increased risk for stroke and heart attack for the rest of my life. If you know anyone taking this drug, please warn them.
Avatar f tn I caused alot of bodily harm while on birth control. My bones suffered from not enough calcium, my muscles deteriorated, and my teeth were a mess. These are all things that can't be reversed.
