Bleeding between periods on yasmin

Common Questions and Answers about Bleeding between periods on yasmin

Avatar f tn I was still worried so i took 2 Yasmin combination pill on day 5 and 2 Yasmin pills on day 6. I did not take the pill after that. Ever since I have had heart burn and stomach ache, belching and pain between the shoulders. Today, day 13 of my cycle, i am bleeding, infact heavier than day 1 of my periods. The discharge is fresh bright red with mucous. I have never had mid cycle bleeding before. What is causing this?? Its not pregnancy or implantation bleeding, is it??
Avatar f tn To postpone the bleeding, you can start with another pack of birth control pills without taking any break in between. You can also postpone your periods by taking norethisterone which is often used to postpone a period. The dose is 5mg three times a day starting 3-4 days before a period is due. It can be continued for up to 2 weeks or so until you want to have a period.
681562 tn?1226597451 I started a Yasmin User Stories Forum because I wanted to have a place where other women who have suffered from yasmin side effects to gather and share stories. Are there any other people who have had mood swings, depression, spotting or anything else since starting to take Yasmin Birth Control Pill (YAZ) ? I have heard of some pretty bad stuff. Feel free to leave comments or share your story in the forum. I'll try to find some more information to put here soon.
Avatar f tn I have had periods a little closer together and now for the second time I had light bleeding in between periods. I feel bloated more often and sometimes it feels like I have a hardness in my lower abdomen. It even feels weird to sleep on my stomach at times. I also have mild cramps from time to time. My anus is slightly itchy sometimes and I have cloudy urine too. I do drink way too much caffeine which I am trying to cut back and I don't get enough exercise but I am of about average weight.
Avatar n tn then trying to get pg i had sex again on the 28th because I was due to i started lightly bleeding on the on the 30th, with cramps and it got a bit heavier the next day..only lasted 3 days..not normal for my cycle...could this be implantation bleeding..mind you...i'm not due to have my period until May 11th considering i have a very regular schedule...please help me!!
Avatar n tn She has been on Yasmin for around 4-5 months now (she was previously on orthotricyclin). My wife is 25 and a non-smoker. The doctors have told us that getting blood clots for someone my wife's age, with no other factors, is very rare. Has anyone else ever had this problem, or even heard of it? The doctors said that typically someone who gets blood clots from birth control bills are 35 years old or over and a smoker.
Avatar f tn My doc did not want to put me back on Yasmin because of all the risks, so instead put me on a generic of Loestrin. I've had breakthrough bleeding pretty much all of July, and now most of August. I finally had a week of no bleeding, but as of two days ago, I am bleeding again even though in week two of pill pack. I take my pill at the same time every single day.
Avatar f tn I was on Yasmin for about 6 years - no problems very happy with and I stupidly got worried about the hype going on with the deep vein thrombosis that Yaz and Yasmin have been known for. So i went to the doctor as we are going travelling in a few months and i didnt want to have problems whilst overseas. So she put me on Marvelon 28.
Avatar n tn Also, I have heard about primrose oil and flaxseed oil being good to regulate hormones or help PMS symptoms. (I was mainly on yasmin for PMS symptoms / moods and to regulate my periods) Thank you!
Avatar f tn Hi, I have been taking the YAZ contaceptive pill for the past 7 months and due to adverse side affects such as longer periods, I was prescribed yasmin, which I began taking on Monday ( I have taken 3 yasmin tablets from monday to today, wed). In the yasmin leaflet it is reccomended that one should take the first yasmin tablet the day after the last active yaz tablet, which i have done.
Avatar n tn i'm 35 and have kids and have been on the pill forever (at least it feels that way)...i also often bleed during sex. i know it seems embarrassing at first but it might not even be a big deal for your partner at all. i have been given a million reasons by a bunch of doctors why it happens....hormonal imbalance, anatomy, childbirth damage...whatever. as long as it doesn't hurt and you don't have any sort of infection like bv or something i wouldn't stress too much over it...
Avatar n tn I am going to the Dr. on Wed. I am also bleeding during sex. But as soon as we are done it stops. My periods have become very heavy. I have no other symptoms. If you are having a foul odor, I would get in ASAP.
Avatar n tn Its ben 6 days that i have ben talking the new month n i hade just hade unpretected sex for the frist time. I have been expericing random brownish redish milkey bleeding off n on befor i hade unpretected sex n after. is this sumthing i should be concerend about since i just hade unretected sex? should i worrie about being pregnant? Or should i not worrie about it n keep taking my birthcontrol regularly?
Avatar n tn changes in menstrual periods, including very light or skipped periods and slight bleeding between periods (spotting). I have experienced light periods and spotting between periods. About the brown blood during periods, I've read that it's "old blood" and not being expelled from the body quickly; it's blood that has been in the uterus for a while and it became deoxygenated and it didn't make it out during your last cycle, which is also normal process, it's natural.
Avatar n tn you can get pregnant on the pill if your on a low dose, i.e. your only on it for irregular periods.
Avatar f tn Breast tenderness; bleeding or spotting between menstrual periods; nausea; stomach cramps or bloating; vomiting; weight gain i have also heard that pco's may cause spotting so i guess i could be a sing of the yasmin, the pco's or pregnancy. just to be sure you should do a pregnancy test and if you are pregnant or not you should visit your DR.
Avatar f tn I was still worried so i took 2 Yasmin combination pill on day 5 and 2 Yasmin pills on day 6. I did not take the pill after that. Ever since I have had heart burn and stomach ache, belching and pain between the shoulders. I usually have a 30-32 day cycle. Today, I am day 17 of my cycle and been bleeding for 4 days now. MED HELP Doctors forum opined that it may be due to irregular use of Yasmin in high doses those 2 days.
Avatar n tn I am so confused about my dates. My last cycle was July 5th, but I was on Yasmin at the time. I had some spotting on the 16th, 17th, 18th, and 20th of July (which would have been my week of conception)so did not have sex. My next cycle was due on Aug 2nd, but nothing came. I thought this was because of the spotting I had (the incerpt on the pills say you may miss). I had tried to be good taking the pills, but would forget and take 2 at once, etc.
Avatar n tn The day you stop taking the pills, you will get bleeding in three days. This bleeding is infact hormone withdrawl bleeding. There are some side effects of taking the oral contraceptives continuously, the most important being breakthrough bleeding(bleeding or spotting between periods). The other side effects are breast tenderness, nausea, headache, mood changes, leg cramps, acne, bloating, weight changes and dark spots on the face.
Avatar m tn I felt like a fog had been lifted and I had very light periods, but I was missing periods and had a lot of break through bleeding. So my dr. prescribed nuva ring which I then researched and found that hair loss is VERY common on that so I decided not to fill the prescription and ask for something else and I now have a prescription for orthotricyclen low which I have yet to fill. So that makes it 6 different BC's in 3.5 years that I have taken and 8 different BC's that have been prescribed.
Avatar n tn I need all the help I can get. I have been on BC for about 10 years, due to heavy periods. I am 25. I ALWAYS get my period on time....I am now 2 months late. I have taken 4 HPT, and they are all negative. I am currently trying to find a new gyno...perfect timing, I guess. When I called the doctors office last month, when I missed, he said, "BCP can thin out your blood so much that some times you don't get it at all, You can take a test to use your mind, but your not pregnant.
529546 tn?1213388299 She feels its either because my body weight is too low or my body is just lying dormant from being on the pill for 7 years. Right now im on a high protein diet to try and gain some weight which for someone who is naturally really thin and has been the same weight since my Freshman year of High School its pretty hard but im determined, or she suggested some hormone pills like BC but obviously allowing me to ovulate.
Avatar n tn I just joined this post because it seems like a wonderful place to vent to others who know what I'm going through. Here's my story...I had very irregular periods during my teen years, but then went on BCP for 7 years, which regulated my cycle. I was having complications with the BCP, so I went off of them in December 2005. I didn't have another period for 18 months. My general doctor didn't want to do anything about it at the time because I was also suffering from an eating disorder.
Avatar n tn I started my inactive pills on sunday, started bleeding on monday and it stopped on tuesday night. My boyfriend came over on thursday and we had sex however, I am afraid of the whole pre-ejaculation thing. We did stuff beforehand and then decided to use a condom. Could I be pregnant?? I mean to me I thought that you couldnt because my period had just ended 2 days beforehand but I am really afraid.
Avatar f tn 2 months ago in between my periods i had breakthrough bleeding for 10 days that was red so it wasnt just old blood. i started and stopped my periods normally also. i went to a new OBGYN (I moved in June) and they did both kinds of ultrasounds. They said that they found a polyp in the lining of my uterus so I went back about a month later for a hysterosonogram (which by the way hurt like HELL!).
Avatar f tn Birth control can help prevent certain types of cancers. It does affect your menstruation cycle, which is why many women get on it. I got on my pill originally because my periods were debilitating. Seven days long, heavy, blood clots, nausea, back pain, severe cramps. With the pill, they became three days in length and light to moderate in flow. Cramps lessened, nausea went away as well as the majority of the back pain. Some women try to use it to help regulate their periods as well.
Avatar n tn My daughter has been on Yasmin for almost a month..she has been dizzy, had loose stools and breakthrough bleeding. Plus heartburn and bloating, tender breast. The doctor says it will pass. But I think the side effects from this pill are more horrible than described on the pamplet.
Avatar n tn I was on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for 7 months and bled all of the time during periods, in between periods, etc. Once, I bled for 15 days. I ended up changing to Yasmin since the Lo was not enough hormones for me.
