Bleeding between periods on seasonique

Common Questions and Answers about Bleeding between periods on seasonique

Avatar f tn I have been on Seasonique for about six months, and while i haven't had any bad side effects i am still experiencing breakthrough bleeding or "in between" periods. I'm wondering if this is supposed to stop after a time or can i expect it to be like that permanently.
Avatar n tn Is it possible to stop in-bewteen bleeding while on the pill by taking extra doses of the pill? I have been on for several years and every time I skip the fourth week I still bleed. Could I possibly shock my body with extra estrogen?
Avatar n tn I am on my 5th week of Seasonique. I have had NO break thru bleeding, but I am having severe breast tenderness, almost to the point of not being able to sleep, wear a bra. I am a 38 yr old mother of 3. I had my tubal in 1998, had severe endometriosis a year ago and had Laparoscopic ablation performed.
Avatar f tn The side effects associated with Seasonique are similar to those of other birth control pills, including bleeding or spotting between periods, nausea, breast tenderness and headache. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar n tn I am 21 years, and have also taken depo provera a long time ago (think I was 18). When I was on the injections, I started to bleed a little between my periods, and after some time I experienced big bleedings after orgasms. Since that time, I have tried several different p-pills to control my period (which the last 3 years has been almost constantly), and nothing helped.
Avatar n tn That was 10 days ago and I am still bleeding - that same heavy bleeding, cramping and clotting. Which means that between the 2 pills, I'm on week 10 of bleeding and there's no let up in sight. Has anyone else experienced such excessive bleeding when starting BCP? If this doesn't end soon, I'm going to give up and go back to having 10 day periods instead! I really hoped BCP were going to be the answer to my issues... I never expected the pills to cause me such grief instead!
Avatar n tn (positive it is vaginal, not rectal) the curious thing is that once it happens there is no residual bleeding at all. No further spotting on the same day, nothing. Happens once per cycle and that is it until next month. Diagnoses: Had Uterine ultrsound (with water) to better see if polyps present. Found at least two tiny polyps in uterus. They were clearly visable even to my untrained eye. Scheduled day surgery to have them removed and to biopsy tissues just in case.
Avatar n tn I'm 25 and have had postcoital bleeding and bleeding between periods for a year. I've had cultures done, colposcopies, laparoscopies, and 2 D&C's. The D&C's are a short-term solution however, the bleeding/hyperplasia keeps returning. Two "spots" were found during laparoscopy that suggest possible endometriosis. Otherwise, every other test reveals nothing. The report always comes back as proliferative endometrium/endometrial hyperplasia.
Avatar n tn I was having mild period like cramps with the brown spotting but now with the bleeding i have a pain on the left side of my pelvic region. I haven't taken a preg test yet bc i am waiting until a week after my period would normally start to get the best results. I was doing research and found that this could be a symptom of numerous things. (PID, ectopic preg, ovarian cysts, etc. ) has anyone else found out anything?
Avatar n tn I was going to dr to determine whay I have had bleeding off and on (period heavy) for almost straight 2 months, sometimes about 4 days non blkeeding before it starts up again. I ALWAYS have had heavy cramping and bleeding for periods even before the IUD. I have pain on ovulation but no bleeding. I was given blood tests for virus and stds and cultures for bacteria. But no PAP two weeks ago because I was bleeding.
Avatar f tn ok so i had a baby a month aago and bled for about 2 wks after she was born, then i started my new birth control(seasonique) and on sunday i started to bleed really bad and tonight i passed a blood clot about 5 inches long and about as thich as a dime. should i b concerned?
Avatar f tn So I just decided to try Seasonique but after reading this forum, I am terrified to take it. My sister has been on Seasonique for a while and she is actually very depressed, on medication for it and has gained so much weight. I am going to talk to her about it tomorrow because I now think it is directly caused from the Seasonique. Unfortunatley I think I am out of options and am very frustrated.
1218873 tn?1300094816 Before my hysterectomy I had two surgeries for stage 4 endometriosis. In between surgeries I took a drug called Danazol. Danozol makes your periods stop completely. I took it for more than a year and never even spotted. At this point it is most likely available in a generic form so it shouldn't be too expensive. Danazol is really high dose of male hormones. I never had any side effects like hair growth but it's possible. Do you have a gynecologist?
594732 tn?1219252744 I was perfect before, so the gaps between periods never bothered me. I decided on Seasonique simply for convenience--it really, really ***** to wear pads or even tampons with leotards and tights, which I wear almost every day. It also increases the chances of yeast infections, UTI's, etc, with wearing tight, synthetic materials as well as having the blood held right there. I also took the pill to control my painful cramps--also an impediment to my activities.
Avatar n tn i took my stepmom to see the chinese doctor since she had that same problem the aupuncture doctor told me that since a serious of women dont have their period for a while there are blood clugs around around the walls of our urteus and just like glue eveymonth our ovaries releases an egg and when you dont get your period or when it your suppose to have your period your blood gets stuck on its walls and you bleed for awhile like your body was trying to clean itselfI ask my sister if she still had
Avatar n tn I did my home pregnancy test on the 11th and came out positive,I had my blood tests done to confirm since it wasn't visible on the sonar. My problem now is,I started bleeding on sunday like I'm having periods until today, went to see my doctor again he took some bloods to the lab because he suspects I'm miscarrying. I did my home pregnancy test again it said I'm negative,I can't lose my baby.
Avatar n tn i had it done on a friday and went back to work on monday. i had very light periods after having this done; however, after one year my heavy bleeding returned resulting in a hysterectomy. it affects everyone differently. some never have anymore problems after the ablation. best wishes.
Avatar f tn When diagnosed, I had excess testosterone and between 30-40 follicle cysts on each ovary. I have always had regular periods (although I gained weight when given Diane at age 12), I tried metformin at 14 but found the diarrohea intolerable. I tried to have them lasered off at 18, but they only came back. I have always suffered from obesity (PCOS doesnt help) so had a gastric band in 2005.
Avatar n tn I had no change in my periods (no extra cramping or heavier bleeding). Recently began having abnormal bleeding and removal was recommended to determine if it was caused by the Paragard or some other cause. My Gyn said that after the abnormal bleeding stops (if related to paragard) I can have another one inserted (even if the Paragard was the cause since it took over 8 years for any problem), which is what I plan to do. No problems for over 8 years, no hormones, no side effects...
Avatar n tn i have been having this issue it seems like forever--i bleed very heavy, and pass alot of clots--my iron level is very low--and the first couple of days i can barely move--and on top of that i am irregular, dont know when it will come on or go off--sometimes i go on for months just bleeding and then when it slows down i have a dark brown gel like substance...

Avatar n tn Also, I have heard about primrose oil and flaxseed oil being good to regulate hormones or help PMS symptoms. (I was mainly on yasmin for PMS symptoms / moods and to regulate my periods) Thank you!
Avatar n tn I have never taken plan B or birth control, so I don't think that's related. I don't have incredibly heavy periods or long periods. They normally are heavy on days 1 and 2 but fine after that and last about 5-6 days. I agree that it's ridiculous that no dr. seems to see a link. I take Vit C and multi-vit. The only way I get thru the time before my period is by taking lots of tylenol and motrin to deal w/ the pain.
Avatar f tn I have been on the pill for 11yrs now and cant take how I am feeling anymore. I went on the pill for irregular periods, but since then I have been feeling blah, libido has decreased severely, I have sinus problems- I found out I have no allergies- so I think it is related to axiety, I worry constantly about everything; I get so nervous I get light headed sometimes. I thinkk I am going to try and stop the pills. I was just wondering if anyone had similar side effects from birth control pills.
Avatar n tn I had light spotting on 2/11/07 (never a full period - 10 minute bleeding after intercouse). On 3/11/07 I had a + preg test. When I had my first ultrasound they said I conceived (not lmp) on 2/10 or 2/11. I have wondered the same question about symptoms a couple days after conception. My periods are not always the same length apart, but they are always consistent in flow.
Avatar n tn My hormones never seemed to go back to normal, my periods were irregular, my skin broke out all the time, no matter how strict of a diet I was on, the weight kept piling on, night sweats, hot flashes, etc. I just knew somewhere in my gut, something was not right. I was even considering flying cross country to a hormone specialist. I then got the Paraguard IUD (the copper one). No problems until I had my checkup to make sure it was still in the correct location.
Avatar f tn I'd say give it a few days and if you still feel bad see your doctor just to check on things. Good luck!!
Avatar n tn 2006 - Went on Yasmin but changed a year later due to an insane amount of bleeding. 2007 - Went on Yaz instead and bleeding was much better but libido decreased tremendously and seven months later, had a HUGE anxiety attack while out of town for a conference. My GP put me on Lexapro, felt good for about 3 months, and then we stepped me off of it because I assumed it was ennvironmental stressors and not linked to Yaz. Two months later, another huge anxiety attack.
Avatar n tn I should add that during pregnancy, I did experience pain but only in the beginning. My dr told me it was all the stretching and enlargement of my uterus making the symptoms of endo worse. 3rd month, I had spotting while on business trip for a week. Baby was fine. I'd been going in to dr biweekly and getting ultrasounds to monitor the endo. Like I said, about 4 months into pregnancy, progesterone must've kicked in and endo started shrinking in size about 1 cm each week.
Avatar n tn There is no doubt that the blood was from these tears, but I just dont understand how I could've been bleeding and tearing as he was going down on me without feeling in pain or uncomfortable. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm kind of young and I understand that these sort of things happen, but I want to make sure I'm doing everything I need to do. I also have an app. in 2 days to have my vagina looked at and tested for STI's, just incase this is NOT from those tears.
