If you have an unprotected sex exposure and 3 days after a doctor gives you a zpac (1500mg of zithromax at one time) for possible Chy and GH exposure would that take care of both of those STD's? If you then had a test 3 days after that (6 days from exposure) and everything came back negative, would that be reliable OR would the antibiotics you took possibly have tainted the results?

Aug 19 - Local STD clinic did urethral swab (hurt like hell) and took urine sample. Told me its NGU – gave me generic Zithromax 1G one dose. Urine tests not back for 3 weeks. Told its not Gonorrhea. Aug 22 – Feeling of really burning in urethra, NOT when I urinate but after – feels like something is still there and wants to drip out 1cm inside, itchy tip too on and off. Feels like I always have to pee, like something is still in my bladder but nothing, or little comes out.

I received zithromax (azithromycin) for 5 days. (500 mg the first day and 250 mg day 2-5). The symptoms have improved, for example I no longer have the morning discharge that I had before and the stains in my underwear have almost disappeared. It is now 5 days since I took the last dose of zithromax. I still have some mucus strings and mucus debris in my urine. I did not have this before the STD so I know it is not normal for me.

You should not be taking zithromax for six weeks. Antibiotics are toxic, and should not be used unless there is an actual infection. Prescribing zithromax for six weeks, withiout evidence of an actualo bacterial infection, on the remote chance it might cure asthma represents questionable reasoning. There was a recent death from excessive use of zithromax. There is a reason they are prescribed in a packet with only so many capsules.
