Just seeing if anyone has or had a bladder infection in the early weeks of pregnancy. I'm almost 6 weeks and I'm constantly peeing (which I know comes with pregnancy already) but it's constant. I initially had my first prenatal visit made for November 6th. But they want to see me tomorrow instead. What do they do if I do have a bladder infection. I didn't think I could take meds?

Bladder infections can become VERY painful. I have had my fair share. I can also tell you with 100% certainty that vicodein IS SAFE in pregnancy. I currently take vicodein and have my entire pregnancy. Taking vicodein short term will not cause withdrawal in your baby. If you were taking it long term and taking more than 5/500mg tablets 3 times daily there would be a chance of baby having withdrawal. I wouldn't worry too much about taking the vicodein.
The being late with your period has nothing to do with the bladder infection. I would get a pregnancy test to check. Best to get it done as early as possible. Did you have a tubal ligation? Did they say it was impossible to get pregnant? Perhaps there is something else going on. You should do the pregnancy test anyway to check then see your doctor either way.
I have a bladder infection, I think. So I called my Dr and told him what was going on. He prescribed Septra generic DS. It made me so sick that I called him back and asked what to do and he said it would be alright to take a half pill twice a day instead of a whole one. This is the second time I've had a bladder infection in two months. The first time was when I was in the hospital. No catheter was used. They sent me home with a script for Septra and it cleared up with in 5 days.
Just got back from my 30 week appointment and was told I have a slight bladder infection. Got antibiotics prescribed and my ob said it was a normal thing while pregnant but I don't feel like I have any symptoms. And also can I drink Kefir with probiotics in it while I'm on the antibiotic?I'm trying to keep my body in balance while the antibiotics are working. My kidneys hurt if i stand too long and some days my kidneys hurt all day. I know pregnancy is harder on your kidneys but this started before pregnancy. I am no longer under the.care of the urologist i was seeing. However this is a high risk pregnancy. Since you had a week off the pill, and had a period, it is possible for you to ovulate in this cycle. So no more fingering, OK? It could be that the bladder pressure you are having is from an infection, it would be far too early to feel bladder pressure from a pregnancy.
Try not to worry, you almost certainly aren't pregs.
Sounds like a UTI. Verrrry common during pregnancy because of the extra weight on the bladder your body cannot always properly empty the bladder, leading to infection. I'd call...no reason to suffer. Until you call though cranberry juice has been known to help with UTI issues...wouldn't recommend anything OCT though.
