bladder infection when pregnant

I am 10wks and 5days and the prescribed me a pregnancy safe antibiotic to get rid of the infection. Pregnant women can be more susseptable to getting bladder infections than women who aren't pregnant and I don't exactly remember why, but just make sure you are drinking plenty of water throughout the day and using the restroom when you have the urge.

can my girlfriend get a bladder infection after we had unprotected sex while i'm on the pegasys/ ribaviron treament. was curious if that was another reason they wanted us to use condoms and the pill too. wasn't sure if my semen can cause an infection or not, this is twice it has happend since i started treament a month and a half ago.

So I got a bladder infection back in December. Took antibiotics but didn't do anything. Went to my family doctor on the 8th to get new antibiotic and got some. A week later I missed my period and hey we're pregnant. Stopped taking my antibiotic cuz it said not to take if pregnant, may be pregnant or breastfeeding. Even my doc knew I could be pregnant so don't know why he prescribed that. Now he won't prescribe anything else and I can't get rid of this infection.

Soo this morning I peed blood and called the doctor right away.. He said most likely its a bladder infection or a kidney stone (which I haven't had any back pain or cramps) He called in some medicine for me. I'm 10 Weeks and 3 days. He said my baby is most likely just fine. Im a ftm and just worried! Have any of you ladies had a bladder infection while Prego? I just need some good advice. Thanks!

Does anyone have or had a bladder infection (UTI) during pregnancy? What did u do to get rid of it without meds? Doctor refused to give meds and I'm glad she didn't.

Just got back from my 30 week appointment and was told I have a slight bladder infection. Got antibiotics prescribed and my ob said it was a normal thing while pregnant but I don't feel like I have any symptoms. I have to pee like every ten min but thought that was a normal symptomof ppregnancy lol. Anyone else have an infection while pregnant?

If anything maybe ill be later like a day or two but not a week and a half. Could this be because of my bladder infection? Or could I be pregnant?? Really am freaking out!! O.

You definitely need to call your doctor because bladder infections and uti's can hurt the baby if not treated properly. I know how it is, I've had chronic uti's and bladder infections since i was little. What i do is drink a gallon of cranberry juice in a day, pee as much as possible.

Ok so from having to pee soo much i am starting to get a bladder infection i have medicine for them but worried it might hurt baby is there any natural ways?? Like juice or something.

ve had a bladder infection in two months. The first time was when I was in the hospital. No catheter was used. They sent me home with a script for Septra and it cleared up with in 5 days. This time I'm on day 7 and I'm still having some pain and urgency. No burning during urination, just the pain and the need to urinate a lot. I'm really getting concerned. My Dr said to stay on the meds for 7 days and if I still had symptoms to see my Gynecologist.

its your wonderful little one on your bladder lol...try leaning toward the front when you pee and put a kittens pressure on your stomach to empty your bladder for the moment lol...and I also get the braxton hicks when I have to go really bad or I feel like I'm about to bust and it hurts so bad...but I've learned that my daughter uses my bladder for her play toy/pillow.....as for baby moving into position I'm not sure :/...

I have always had some degree of bladder and bowel urgency (IBS too). Bladder is worse when standing or walking. Sometimes when I get the sudden urge I have to cross my legs and squeeze to keep from having an accident. An advice nurse said maybe some soap got in the tip when i was in the shower. Has this happened to anyone else? When I was younger it happened but I was told my penis was strained from to much sex and after a week it did go away. Any ideas? It really stings at the tip when I pee. I have a bladder infection, found out when i went to my doctors appt Thursday. But the only symptoms i have is pelvic pain, it doesn't hurt to pee and i dont bleed.

Make sure you let your doctor know bc I had a bladder infection which led to a kidney infection n its the worse pain ever now instead of me taking antibiotics to fix it I have to stay on them until I deliver my baby boy which is taking pills everyday...

Sound stupid but what does a bladder infection feel like in pregnancy doc said there is a bug in my urine so I'm on antibiotics it don't sting/ hurt when I pee no side pains but my lower belly has been killing me for ages but I am in soo much pain from other things I can't tell which is which :/

Your Dr should have taken a urine sample at that appt and tested for infection. They are super common, so I would get tested regardless of where the baby is.

I have a bladder infection. Yes, I am on antibiotics. My questions are, can I take cranberry pills that also have vitamin C in them? And also can I drink Kefir with probiotics in it while I'm on the antibiotic?I'm trying to keep my body in balance while the antibiotics are working. I've also read that a mixture of water, vinegar and honey may help. But I'm wondering if the vinegar might be too acidic and irritate my bladder even more. Please give me your thoughts on all of this.
