Common Questions and Answers about Bladder infection cranberry

infection

Avatar f tn I have a bladder infection. Yes, I am on antibiotics. My questions are, can I take cranberry pills that also have vitamin C in them? And also can I drink Kefir with probiotics in it while I'm on the antibiotic?I'm trying to keep my body in balance while the antibiotics are working. I've also read that a mixture of water, vinegar and honey may help. But I'm wondering if the vinegar might be too acidic and irritate my bladder even more. Please give me your thoughts on all of this.
4244557 tn?1371701336 So I got a bladder infection back in December. Took antibiotics but didn't do anything. Went to my family doctor on the 8th to get new antibiotic and got some. A week later I missed my period and hey we're pregnant. Stopped taking my antibiotic cuz it said not to take if pregnant, may be pregnant or breastfeeding. Even my doc knew I could be pregnant so don't know why he prescribed that. Now he won't prescribe anything else and I can't get rid of this infection.
Avatar f tn I have a bad bladder infection and I have been taking Azo but that doesn't help at all. It won't eventeventurn my urin orange. Is there something else I can take? Anything.
Avatar f tn Drink pure cranberry juice like they said but...most women get a urinary tract or bladder infection due to wiping wrong (Always wipe front to back), and/or having sex & not going pee after. A lot of people do not know it but if u wash ur hands before & after going pee (dont quote me on exact %) i heard it decreased you chance of getting any infection, (esp bladder or a common cold) by 50%.
Avatar n tn I have had a chronic bladder infection for 5 days and they have tried 3 different types of antibiotics. Nothing helps, pain is worse. High white cell count and no problems with red cell count. What might this be?
6387609 tn?1393274731 went To My Ob And She Said I Have A Bladder Infection And A Yeast infection! I'm Not Dilated At All And My Cervix Is Closed So That's Good But This Hurts So Bad... Has Anyone Had One? Experience And How You Helped Sooth It?
Avatar f tn I'd call the Dr. Sounds like a UTI. Verrrry common during pregnancy because of the extra weight on the bladder your body cannot always properly empty the bladder, leading to infection. I'd call...no reason to suffer. Until you call though cranberry juice has been known to help with UTI issues...wouldn't recommend anything OCT though.
1318483 tn?1318347182 An infection anywhere along the line classifies as a UTI (urinary tract infection). UTI is a non-specific generic term. A bladder infection is a UTI. Not every UTI is in the bladder. Nitrofurantoin is the generic name for Macrodantin, an antibiltic commonly used to treat UTIs. I would have thought you would be beginning to feel better after four days on the antibiotic. If you are no better by tomorrow, definitely call the doctor to report this.
Avatar f tn You definitely need to call your doctor because bladder infections and uti's can hurt the baby if not treated properly. I know how it is, I've had chronic uti's and bladder infections since i was little. What i do is drink a gallon of cranberry juice in a day, pee as much as possible.
Avatar n tn Does anyone have or had a bladder infection (UTI) during pregnancy? What did u do to get rid of it without meds? Doctor refused to give meds and I'm glad she didn't.
Avatar n tn Make sure you let your doctor know bc I had a bladder infection which led to a kidney infection n its the worse pain ever now instead of me taking antibiotics to fix it I have to stay on them until I deliver my baby boy which is taking pills everyday...
Avatar m tn I have had a bladder infection for 3days now and its really bad, ive taken a number of cranberry tablets but it is still there. I havnt peed blood yet but iv got a really sore back and find it hard to walk. I started drinking orange juice yesterday and got the shakes really bad, i thought my body was going to have a fit, I just want it gone and really dont know what to do? is there something more worse with me?
Avatar f tn So I've had a bladder infection for almost a week now. And it comes and goes since I keep drinking a lot of water. I had a baby almost 7 months ago and got tubal done right after. Now I'm a week and half late and I've been on time since I had him.... If anything maybe ill be later like a day or two but not a week and a half. Could this be because of my bladder infection? Or could I be pregnant?? Really am freaking out!! O.
Avatar f tn It could be a urinary tract infection. This needs to be treated before it turns into a kidney or bladder infection. You can drink more (lots more), use something like Ural which neutralises the urine to stop it burning, drink cranberry juice or cranberry tablets. But if you are getting no relief within a short time of doing these things you probably need to go and see a doctor.
Avatar f tn Soo this morning I peed blood and called the doctor right away.. He said most likely its a bladder infection or a kidney stone (which I haven't had any back pain or cramps) He called in some medicine for me. I'm 10 Weeks and 3 days. He said my baby is most likely just fine. Im a ftm and just worried! Have any of you ladies had a bladder infection while Prego? I just need some good advice. Thanks!
Avatar f tn Just seeing if anyone has or had a bladder infection in the early weeks of pregnancy. I'm almost 6 weeks and I'm constantly peeing (which I know comes with pregnancy already) but it's constant. I initially had my first prenatal visit made for November 6th. But they want to see me tomorrow instead. What do they do if I do have a bladder infection. I didn't think I could take meds?
Avatar f tn I'm having the same problem. I'm at the hospital rightnow actually with a bladder infection. I keep getting them! I'm going.
Avatar f tn Take the medicine i went to the hospital for that twice, first time i didnt take all the medicine 2 months later i went in again for having a kidney infection due to the bladder infection thank God im good now so its my baby, but you should really take it and cranberry juice on the side too it will help :)
Avatar f tn This past weekend I started to experience bladder infection type symptoms. Urinating was painful, but possible. I took some Cranberry pills and the pain while urinating has disappeared. However so has the urine. I am only able to urniate if I push really hard and only a little at a time. There's no blood, but it does hurt at the beginning when fluid is released. Has anyone ever experienced this? IS it a bladder infection? My Dr is away until Sept 7th and I'd really rather avoid emerg.
Avatar f tn My only issue is I have a bladder infection. I asked my doc how could I avoid getting them and what causes them. He said that it comes from having sex and jellybean always sitting or bouncing on my bladder. I'm like so Im pretty much going to keep getting them :(...
1541328 tn?1293054222 i have IC too . and was told cranberry was not good for us IC patient.
Avatar f tn I have a bladder infection, I think. So I called my Dr and told him what was going on. He prescribed Septra generic DS. It made me so sick that I called him back and asked what to do and he said it would be alright to take a half pill twice a day instead of a whole one. This is the second time I've had a bladder infection in two months. The first time was when I was in the hospital. No catheter was used. They sent me home with a script for Septra and it cleared up with in 5 days.
4347786 tn?1357713425 I'm 18 weeks and have another bladder infection. This is my 3rd one this pregnancy :( I'm miserable and worse, worried about taking the antibiotics because of the baby. But as soon as I finish them, the infection comes back. I've upped my fluid intake and taken all the precautions not to get a uti but nothing works. I don't know what to do anymore, its bringing me to tears.
Avatar n tn In between the ribs and the hips. Although an untreated bladder infection can cause kidney infections, and sometimes the pain doesn't present as it normally would. Go to the Dr. and get a pee test. Some Dr.'s offices do them right there. In the meantime cranberry pills will make the bladder walls slippery and help clear out the bacteria. Cranberry juice usually contains sugar, so it isn't that great. It also isn't as strong.
4801019 tn?1359345412 These include Bladder hydrodistention, bladder training, medications via bladder instillation like dimethyl sulfoxide (DMS), heparin and Clorpactin and surgery is kept as the last resort. Avoidance of certain diets like cheese, alcohol, citrus juices, chocolates, coffee, cranberry juice, processed meats, onions, soy products, tea, tofu, tomatoes and yoghurt often help in improving the symptoms.
