Avatar f tn You have a whole lot of anxiety and it sounds like you're waking up in a full-blown panic attack. The feeling of not being able to breathe is caused by anxiety and is typical of a panic attack. So is the dizziness and difficulty in swallowing. When we have anxiety, our bodies produce adrenaline. If we're unable to calm down, we get even more scared and anxious and produce even more adrenaline.

If a cause is identified it can be managed accordingly. Hope this is helpful. Take care!

Avatar n tn This sounds to me like a depersonalization disorder this is a disorder in which a sufferer is affected by persistent feelings of depersonalization or derealization.. The most common causes of the disorder are severe stress, depression and panic, marijuana and hallucinogen ingestion. Since your MRI, blood work, and vision tests were all normal then that rules out any neurological or other physical disorders that could cause these symptoms.
Avatar f tn or clinic that is familiar with this set of disorders. If you look into it, will you let me know if you think it might be match for your condition, too? I joined the MedHelp community for Dysautonimia. There is little action or input there, but several people in this undiagnosed community seem to have the symptoms we do. Avatar n tn Feelings of dread and excessive worrying are classic symptoms of anxiety disorders. The burning feelings you are experiencing can also be associated with anxiety. You are doing the right thing by getting everything checked to rule out other causes... however, in my experience, if someone thinks they have an anxiety disorder.. they probably do. Try not to worry about the test results too much. If it is something else than anxiety, you will be properly treated.

Some days the shortness of breath feels intense and other days it doesn't although it's still there. It is now April 9 and I continue to have the breathing issue day and night, 24/7. Today I went to see my own doctor and she's baffled by it all. She went through a bunch of questions which included if I felt depressed or felt I had anxiety.
