Avatar n tn estrogen cream but I have tried bioidentical progestrone cream before and this brought on bleeding again just after 3 days of use. I also experienced giddiness with it use. I am very sensitive to any medication and was on the lowest possibly dose of progestrone that time. The concern I have again is could using estrogen cream bring on bleeding. My gynaecologist said that if I have further bleeding (after none for over 7 months now) she will have to do another hysteroscopy.
Avatar n tn How were you able to get the bioidentical hormone pellets? My dr only does the cream which is a real pain. I can never get it completely rubbed in and worry about it getting on my kids.
Avatar f tn I was told D.O. doctors thought more out of the box because they studied beyond regular med school. I just called two D.O.'s yesterday and both only use blood tests for everything (thyroid, adrenals and hormones). I thought they would be the doctors who would know blood tests aren't accurate for all things, especially cortisol and sex hormones if you're already on bioidentical hormone replacement. Now I don't know who to call anymore.
Avatar f tn Could have saved me three years of anguish. So my doc is taking me off birth control pills and putting me on a bioidentical cream that has estrogen, testosterone and, progesterone. She also has me taking 5mg DHEA as well as glutamine for my gut and Rejuvamax to increase my growth hormone which was also low and Dim to lower the bad estrogen. I'm also taking Dim to lower the bad estrogen. She said as low as all my levels were, it will take 3-4 months to start feeling a difference.

Avatar n tn or the Vivelle patch? Estratest? Bioidentical Progesterone? And, what about testosterone, either gel or cream, which we women can use "off-label" but some formulas can be put on the cliteral/genital area and work wonders regarding the issue you mentioned.
Avatar n tn *****I know that this is controversial but I stand by my belief that the body treats the true bioidentical hormone as it would a hormone that our body once made.
Avatar f tn I had a complete hysto. in 84 and was on vivelle patch for most of those years. Just estrogen and no progesterone. I was fine until a few years ago and it just got worse. I became so estrogen dominant and became a total mess. I went to a very good hormone imbalance seminar a few days ago and it was great. I think if you went off, you'll regret it in time. There are so many symptoms with low or no hormone production.
Avatar f tn Is there a list of physicians who utilize bioidentical hormone therapy in their practice in the Reno area?
Avatar f tn I have been on bioidentical hormone therapy for several years: estrogel 0.06% 2 pumps once daily and prometrium 200 mg. daily. My main symptoms for seeking treatment were severe hot flashes, night sweats and insomnia. These symptoms have subsided since being on hormone replacement therapy. I do not have access to individual dosage evaluation and preparation of these hormones. I know that it is best to take the lowest dosage that gives me relief of my symptoms to decrease my risks of cancer.
Avatar f tn Do fat cells secrete estrogen? Do I even need estrogen replacement? I used a bioidentical progesterone cream in the past. I was on Yaz birth control before the surgery. Without that I was practically psychotic.I am more miserable now than before surgery. I cry A LOT. My family is sick of me and I am sick of me. My doctor doesn't explain things. Will excercise/supplements etc be enough?Where can I turn for info?
Avatar f tn My oncologist said he will wait a YEAR to start hormone treatment. I told him I only want to be put on bioidentical therapy. He said "no estrogen is a good estrogen" so I am confused. I feel a year is much too long to wait. I have hot flashes all day. am jumpy and nervous and feel like I weigh 1000 pounds. What should I do now? I am 74 and only have social security and my medical insurance. I know there must be an answer somewhere.
Avatar f tn I have surgery to removed fibroids next week and then after that I will be discussing some kind of hormone balancing with my gyneco. I will send you a PM once we have this discussion about bioidentical hormone balancing.
Avatar m tn Hi, I hope everything turns out okay for you in regard to your biopsy! Meanwhile, I hope you won't mind some information about the use of bioidentical hormones. I'm not sure why you are taking bioidentical hormones, but the 2012 hormone therapy position statement of the North American Menopause Society states: "Bioidentical hormones: Compounded EPT or ET should not be prescribed unless women are allergic to components of government-approved products.
Avatar n tn 05, but my body stopped absorbing it, so I changed to the oral type) and a compounded bioidentical progesterone cream (1 mg. dose, although I use less, made at a compounding pharmacy) that I rub on to my wrist or upper arm or stomach (I move it around so my skin doesn't build up resistence to it). I have hormone testing annually to make sure my balances are right. I feel good on this regimen. How have things been going for you?
Avatar m tn Hi Bob and Angela, I had a hysterectomy 21 years ago with removal of ovaries. For the last 4 years, I've used bioidentical hormone pellets. These pellets are implanted under the skin of my hip. I get estrogen and testosterone. Estrogen for hot flashes, night sweats, dry skin, anxiety. moodiness. Testosterone for my sex drive. Prior to the pellets, I was on estrogen and managed those symptoms. For 16 years, I had little sex drive.
Avatar f tn I moved to AZ and in finding a new gyn, found a doctor going through menopause. She does bioidentical hormone pellets (and has them herself). They are implanted in my hip and last 3-4 months. They are the best! I get estrogen and testosterone. My body only uses what it needs and they are closest to what we make naturally. My life has changed drastically for the better with regards to menopause and libido. The return of my long missing libido was unbelievably wonderful!
Avatar f tn What is the difference? Itake bioidentical patch, lowest dose. I'm confused how that differs from HRT??
Avatar n tn 5 - 13) Now one doctor said I had adrenal insufficiency and low free testosterone and DHEAS and prescribed bioidentical hormones -- T cream and DHEAS (as well as Indol-Carbinol to reduce estrogen). She assured me no risks. But I was worried about how this would affect natural hormone production and went to an endo for 2nd opinion (but did start taking Indol-Carbinol).
Avatar m tn My oldest sister is on hormone replacements since her hysterectomy, but has considered changing over to the bioidentical hormone replacement. Odd how her doctor has her on hormone replacements, but mine refuses to do so with the family history of breast cancer, heart disease and strokes. I appreciate you telling me about the Fem Ring. I am going to continue taking this Amberen because it really does seem to be helping me in so many ways right now.
Avatar n tn I have found that what has helped my endometriosis the most is Natural Progesterone Cream, prescribed by my doctor. It is not the same as Synthetic Progesterone and is much safer. I have been using the cream for about 2 years and no longer need to get yearly laporoscopies. I have also cut down on my dairy intake due to the excess estrogen levels in dairy which feed endo. I find my calcium in other foods instead.
