The Paxil IS helping you and this is why you no longer have to eat to feel better....good for you! One thing to help lose the weight is to eat every 3-4 hours, healthy snacks. Fresh fruit, handful of nuts, yogurt, chicken, vegetables, and exercise. Eating every few hours keeps your metabolism at it's peak.
Avatar f tn The best thing to do is not have junk food in the house, if you can't stop with eating a single portion. Replace the chips, cookies, etc with fresh cut up veggies, such as carrots, celery, radishes, broccoli, or cauliflower. You'll get the same crunch, but you'll get nutrition instead of the fat and empty calories. If you need the salt, sprinkle on just a tad of sea salt to add a bit of flavor.
612101 tn?1220772860 I have suffered from binge eating since I was 20 yrs old. I am now 36. For the last 15 yrs I have been on many many anti depressants, diets, diet pills etc. I have had pretty much binge free the last 2 years while I was on Effexor and Wellbutrin. I came into money problems and had to taper off them. I had totally forgot about my eating disoder....well....I think I thought I grew out of it finally. Since I have been off my pills in the last few months I hve started binge eating again.
Avatar f tn Try taking a 15 minute brisk walk before eating, then again about 30 minutes after eating. 5. Journal everything! What food you bought, what you drank, ate, did for exercise. By doing this, maybe you can see when youre most likely to binge eat. I'm telling you, it isn't easy... but it is doable. Track everything, journal it. If you have to have a snack, eat the healthiest, low carb thing available.
Avatar f tn Try eating some crackers or fruit or something and drink juice or water

Thank you for the tip of eating fruit, I have been having an apple binge, I find there is not much good yummy fruit out on the shelves right now. Here in BC you are not suppose to know if you have a boy or girl, but the nurse made a special for me and said no to "it being a boy". So it's a girl!!
Avatar f tn Help! i keep binge eating on food like chocolate, buiscuits, cake etc... and i cant stop, i need help!
Avatar n tn It is not uncommon that after chronic anorexia, at a certain point binge eating follows. You likely haven't managed to clearly identify the root of your food bingeing nor the triggers. The usual underlying issues are poor self-image, low self-esteem, depression, stress, etc. It might be wise to contact the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) which can be a great source of support and guidance for you at this time.
614508 tn?1265281722 I'm 46 yrs old, 5 ft 6in & weigh 190 lbs. During my teens and 20's, I was involved heavily in dance (jazz, tap, ballet, musical theatre) and developed anorexia. I did not weigh over 100 until I was 25 years old. During my 30's & 40's I started binging & purging...stopping only during my 2 pregnancies. Now I am in the routine of not eating all day (except for coffee & water) and binge at night (10pm onwards) consuming huge amounts of calories.
7758733 tn?1402589420 Being pregnant, diets are not really encouraged, but when I think of eating right I always have diet in the back of my head as a guideline, like not a lot of bread, don't eat after 8 pm etc. My question is what's the difference? What should I be more cautious of or what is not so costly since I am growing a human being. I ask because I love to eat, lol pregnant or not pregnant. I just want to find a common ground of being satisfied and eating right. Sounds fat?
Avatar n tn ve been struggling with medical therapies as well as binge eating disorder but I also shuffle to bed after anorexia. I'm 16 and I'm afraid this is just the beginning.
Avatar f tn I'm a 55 Y/O female who has been binge eating for about 20 years. I've been to every kind of therapy, even went to a psychiatrist who specializes in eating disorders, gave me an RX ( don't remember the name) I've gained and lost 50LBS 3 times, this time I gained 60LBS and can't loose the last 25. I can't control my eating no matter what I do. I've also been to OA and I didn't like it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Avatar f tn I've always suffered from binge eating. 3 months ago I tried Meridia, and it was wonderful. I do not like to take medicines...therefore I stopped taking Meridia, but sometimes I take one for a few days when I believe I'm eating too much....but as soon as i stop taking it, I go back to the same old habits. Do you know of something similar that I can take w/o the same side effects...
Avatar f tn Binge eating after dinner please help I always do really well then after dinner I blow it and I know ive gotta get rid of this problem to loose the weight I want.
Avatar f tn I didn't have any morning sickness but nausea was my problem. I had this same feeling. If I wasn't eating my stonach hurt like it was hungry. I used veggies. Peas, cauliflower, carrots, and cucumbers as I didn't want to have too much fruit. Eating a protein rich snack, such as peanut butter, nuts, or even cut slices of cooked chicken can help hold the pains at bay a bit longer. This only lasted about 2-3 weeks for me.
Avatar f tn I discovered I had anorexia in 6th grade. I didn't eat much until this year, I am now in 8th grade. I still have worries but it never stops me from eating healthily. But now I think im overeating. I have a little theory though. In 6th and 7th grade the first time of the day I would eat is when I got home. I'd then eat lots of junk food. Now in 8th grade I eat even more because I don't set up caloric limits.
Avatar f tn The advice given by your doctor seems quite strange. I wouldn't recommend eating simply 500 calories per day for a week and THEN eating 1500 thereafter. It is all about balance. No one (unless you've always done it) can go through life eating simply vegetables and fruit. It's good to have a balanced diet. Eat what you want to eat but watching the portion at the same time.
Avatar f tn Hello there, It's best not to buy any junk food at all. You have to stop cold turkey when it comes to binge eating. Buy healthy foods, lots of fruit and vegetables. Don't eat in front of the TV. I think that's referred to as mindless eating, junk food , example, potato chips etc. Try and drink lots of water. It's good for you, helps to flush out your system and it fills you up. My biggest problem was potato chips. I really enjoy the saltiness and the crunch.
Avatar f tn Does anyone else have trouble eating healthy while pregnant? I have noticed that ever since I found out I literally eat whatever I want and I'm paying for it with new stretch marks and weight gain! I really want to start eating healthier for me and mostly for the baby. Does anyone have any healthy eating suggestions?
Avatar f tn I have oesteosporosis and I binge eat. Binge eating has never been a problem in the past because I have always been very thin and never gained weight, until now. For years my weight has been between 102 & 106. I'm 5'3". Over the past few years I have gained 15 lbs. and it keeps adding on. I can't believe that at my age , this is a huge problem for me.
691024 tn?1233619743 I too struggle with an eating disorder. I have bulmerexia. I am trying to recover also. I used to have huge binges/purges at night. Then i decided that i wasn't going to do that anymore, so before bed i would have a piece of fruit, and decided that no matter how much i wanted to binge i wouldn't because i just had fruit. I always maintained my weight with the bulimia.
651457 tn?1276499738 Im even at the stage now where i throw up fruit. I restrict through the day and if i eat anything at all or go on a binge, it has to come back up again. I am currently seeing a psychiatrist and psychologist, my question was, is this enough? Is therapy alone enough to help me? Or should i maybe attend some kind of outpatient program or something?
Avatar f tn Is anyone familiar with binge eating disorder? I have been struggling with what I believe is binge eating disorder. It has gotten out of control and I am at a loss as to how to stop it. I have gained a horrible amount of weight and am miserable. I just want to regain control and able to cope in a healthy way...
Avatar f tn The only problem I see with that is you might binge on sweets after not eating them as much as your sweet tooth wants to.
621085 tn?1614300231 I binge. All the time. I'm really awful at controlling my cravings/sweet tooth so I don't really try. Since I joined this site a week ago, I've been trying much harder. Not buying snacks, bringing food from home, etc. I'm a full time student so a lot of the time I just want to be lazy and buy lunch at school but I know that it would only delete any progress I've made. I'm taking it in small steps.
Avatar n tn Hey there! I've been in your exact situation! It can be hard trying to lose weight when people don't believe you can but you can do it. Start by trying to lower the sugar but not all at once so you don't binge and give it up instantly. Eat a big healthy breakfast like eggs or oatmeal and fruit! Try to eat within the first hour of waking. Have a medium lunch and a slightly smaller dinner! Make sure to have snacks inbetween those meals!
