Avatar f tn I'm really interested in "Life After Death" experiences, and have read many accounts of people who have gone over to the other side briefly and returned. One of my favorite collections was "Imagine Heaven" by John Burke. Very well-documented case histories of people who were clinically dead briefly, or in a coma, etc., and even while they were unconscious saw things going on around the hospital, or even things going on at their homes.
Avatar f tn Hello Autumnsky, I wanted to write you regarding your statement ' I am going to hell when I die and I am scared. In the Bible it says ' For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. God Loves you so much and we were created to have a relationship with God, but, because of our stubborn self-will, we chose to go our own independent way, and fellowship with God was broken.

Avatar m tn I am a Christian and a Believer. No not one of the Bible thumping, fire and brimstone, Bible quoting fundamentalists. I exercise quiet devotion and believe that Jesus The Christ is all of our Lord and Savior. I'm not pushing my beliefs on any one here but would like to remind you all that our Lord listens and answers our prayers. He is there when we need him even if we haven't called on him regularly or at all in the past.
Avatar m tn c but I want to wait and let it happen naturally or have a repeat u/s in a week or two and see if this baby is ok) ok so I work at a church (church secretary) so I decided to take a break and sit in the pew and pray about things and a page number came to me so I grabbed the Bible and turned to that page and here is the verse my eyes fell to instantly: NRSV Bible Job 13:1-6 pg 462 "Look, my eye has seen all this, my ear has heard and understood it.
Avatar f tn I believe if I pray to my God..the God of hte bible, he hears and answers. The bible is very real to me and true and God says there is no other God but HE...and the only way to know him is to believe Jesus is Lord...no other name. To accept any other name or power as equal to my God is blasphemy. I do have assurance I will be in heaven when I die. I am very thankful for that.

424839 tn?1268186246 From this perspective, we must seek our goal and mission in something that transcends birth and death, something that we can give our whole life to. Only then can we tap the inexhaustible potential of life. In other words, we must advance beyond the mere struggle to stay alive and be prepared to ask ourselves for what purpose we live our lives.. While it is important to win, it's even more important to remain undefeated no matter what happens..
973741 tn?1342342773 When they broke this commandment it meant knowledge of good and evil and immediate separation from God (spiritual death and physical death). God said that they would die the same day, indeed they did! Neither lived to be a 1000 years old and a thousand years is one day to God so they died the same day they ate the fruit! Once Satan and the fallen angels rejected God, only evil was left to them as evil is the complete rejection of God because God IS love and morally perfect (Good).

424839 tn?1268186246 In the first place it provides us with the courage to challenge both life and death. It enables us to see death not as some terrifying unknown but as a normal phase of existence that alternates with life in an eternal cycle. Second, it teaches us to treasure the life we are now living and to try to make it as worthwhile as possible.
790669 tn?1465189099 I pray daily and ask for forgiveness and thank him for my blessings. To make this as short as possible I was just wondering what the bible says about tattoos. My brother is wanting to get one and of course he's young, he's 27 and my dad is talking about how much of a sin it is and he's not welcome in his house if he does. Can someone please tell me what it says in the bible about tattoos? Thanks in advance.
Avatar f tn * God, as the Holy Spirit, is by your side at all times. The Holy Spirit is always by your side to give comfort (John 16:7): [Jesus said] “Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.” The word “Helper” in this version translates the Greek word Parakletos, which means “One called alongside,” “Comforter," “Helper,” “Intercessor,” “Aider,” and similar words.
Avatar f tn A different twist on fear in the new testament is the following verse that I have heard many times: Second Timothy 1:7 says, For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind (NKJV) Other versions use the word, timidity which when looking up, I found the following as part of the definition: 2. characterized by or indicating fear: a timid approach to a problem. It sounds like she believes that the soul is the true part and the body houses it. That leads me to want to look up "soul" again. In the Bible, King James Version use the phrase...
Avatar f tn I agree with you in all senses of the bible. Jesus is a powerful man. The most powerful and he did die a cruel death for our sins. I was in prison for a year for something I did not do. I got beat severe enough when I got I had to have reconstructive surgery plus a scope on the same shoulder. Now I think it is infected and am getting ready to go to emergency room to get it checked for life sake.
246464 tn?1249452147 In my tendancy to overthink and dwell on things, and with the recent death of my aunt, last years death of my mother, a friend with Cancer, and my own health issues, I am now having constant thoughts of death, and horrible nightmares. It almost seems to be working itself into a series of obsessive thoughts or a phobia. So when i have panic attacks, or other health issues all I can think about is dying. I get no escape in my sleep. Nightmares are horrible.
