Inbetween being sick, I never really felt 100%, but I just let it go because I was so busy with work and getting everything ready to close on the house. I had to do all the house work because my boyfriend works nights and sleeps during the day. So, I was trying to get everything set-up for the house during working also. On November 19th, I ended up going back to the doctor and they diganosed me with strep (2nd time). They put me on Biaxin and told me to rest.
I had a very long period when I had to have a long nap evey afternoon. My doc said it is not a bad thing, it often means the body is getting really busy working on the infection. He said having a daily nap wouòd do me lots of good.
Remember, even when we lymies look as if we're doing nothing, on a cellular level we are EXTREMELY busy.
I have two failed implants due to infection which did not respond to Clindamycin. I also got a bad reaction to Clindamycin a feeling of big lump in throat, sore throat and severe heartburn. In spite of the fact that I drank at least 10ounces of water with each pill.
My question is since I'm allergic to penicillin. What antibiotic is effective for teeth and gum infections????

If the doxycycline does not help, some persons would try trimethroprim/sulfamethoxazole (Bactrim) but to be honest, you are now at the point where management enters into the realm of trial and error. I would continue to work on this with your doctor. He/she may choose to involve an urologist at some point in the not too distant future for their evaluation as well. To briefly address your specific questions:

facility doctor told me I probably had chronic bronchitis (with some post nasal drip), and prescribed Biaxin 500mg 2x for 10 days. Recently, my physician told me I may have allergies and told me to take Claritin and Albuterol (only been on Claritin intermittently since my breathing is good, despite the sometimes slight wheezing). Cough is sometimes 'dry', and at other times 'productive', but with clear fluid that I usually swallow again.
So the next day, my doc said to stop and he put me on Biaxin and Plaquenil, which he said would work on both Lyme and Bartonella. No basketball or tennis or racquetball for me until a few months after the Levaquin has worn off. ;)
I had to hold off on the Biaxin until I took 10 days of Diflucan for my yeast problem. Then, I took Biaxin for a few days (and felt crummy) and then the yeast problems came back. So, I'm off Biaxin until the 2nd round of Diflucan is done (10 days).
Prinmary Dr put me on Biaxin due to blood work taken at hospital showing normal WBC count but slightly elevated neutrophils and more decreased lymphocytes. Started Biaxin yesterday; slight improvement, fever last night 100 instead of 101, but headache still gets very strong during the night, had to finally take ibuprofen again at 2am; rash is expanding to trunk.
Anybody have any idea of what may be going on?
Is a tender stomach normal with a peptic ulcer? My entire stomach area, from just below my breasts, down to my navel, is very tender to the touch. When touched it produces like a burning/stinging/bruised feeling. Depending on the day, or time of the day, the pain is greater or less. It's not any worse than it has been for the past month or so, but it is worrying me. Is this normal with a duodenal ulcer?
m not sure how long my LLMD is proposing to treat me. I started on a four day coctail of flagyl, biaxin, and omnicef.
That was fun.
now on omnicef which seems to be somewhat helping except the days with the herx which are terribel but a means to an end.
I'm not sure about any co-infections. The doctor assistant mentioned doing some parasite testing via stool sampling.

And for what reasons you took the Biaxin antibiotic?
I agree with Vance2335, you should consult your doctor on this question. Your concern is reasonable. Biaxin is an antibiotic use to threat bacterial infections. And, yes syphilis is a bacterial infection.
i experience a lot of upper body aches especially in shoulders and under and around arms also many headdaches and tightness in head along with frequent bowel movements and nausea.and last but not least , my pallets taste like the medication and no matter how much water i drink " it doesn't seem to go away making my desire to eat , non-exesitant..i actually have to force myself to eat .
