biaxin for kidney infection

I have a bunch of symptoms that im afraid may indicate something serious. blotchy rash on my neck, chest palms and groin; loss of sensation and discoloration of my penis; cold sweats; constipation and difficulty urinating w no pain involved. I've had a sinus infection and ear infection for sometime now but just started taking biaxin yesterday. Not much improvement..could I have some kidney or liver issues due to years of cocaine abuse?

t get rid of the infection, so maybe a broad spectrum antibiotic will work for me. I sure hope so. thank you again for your advice.

Also should add, treated with Cipro 500mg for 10 days and Biaxin 500mg for 21 days for sinus infection, during the time frame of possible std infection....would this cause a delay or would it actually cure the std infection, if there was one to begin with?

I was just on a 14 day course of Amoxicillin 750mg a day, for a sinus infection and was fine as far as any urine problems ... This morning i wake with the symptoms of a UTI and i have only been off the antibiotic for ONE day ... Is this a totally separate problem, and do i have to go back on the antibiotic? Please help!

CBC showed white count of 25,000. Diagnosed with Pneumonia and kidney infection. Sent home the next day on Biaxin for 10 days and nebulizer.

I also took biaxin for a throat problem a week ago. Doc gave me 500mg pills twice a day for 5 days. and I took them for 3 days then stopped for 2 day then finished the last 2 days after cause I found out that I have to do all of them. Would this have cured anyt sti? Sorry for long question doc just want everything answered at once.

Since I have gone back on Biaxin and Tindamax in the last week, I seem to hit a wall around 3pm and I can't keep my eyes open. I have taken an afternoon nap about 4 days out of 7. I am a terrible napper and rarely ever nap, even when I was at my sickest with Lyme. I guess it could be herxing from the meds, but I haven't had this in the past. I am wondering if these two drugs are particularly targeting cysts and spiros in my brain.

He gave me a prescription for biaxin, 2x a day for ten days. After doing some digging, I learned about oral gonorrhea. Could this possibly be what I have? And if so can it be cured by biaxin (antibiotic)?

just one last point, the biaxin and amoxicilian were taken at different times around 2-3 months apart. Biaxin was for a Resp infection and the amoxicilian was for my saliva gland issue. The doctor took blood and did a throat culture, in case I had strep or mono. Neither was present. BUT he gave me a different antibiotic for the sinus infection called Biaxin, for acute sinusitis, which has been working wonders after one day on it. But I just read that Biaxin is given to HIV/AIDS patients for Mycobacterium avium complex!!!! Is it possible that he did an HIV test without my knowledge and is now trying to treat me for it????

ve been taking the medicine for at least 10 or 11 days at 1000 milgrams of each both biaxin and flagyl daily..and should have stop taking them along time ago ..is this common?

the doctor and I decided that I should try a differnt antibiotic so we switched to the Generic form of Biaxin.... Clarithromycin...... I was on it for 2 months and dropped 18 pounds and 3/4 of my hair..... we pulled out what was in the shower drain alone and you could of made a wig out of it pretty much...... the only other symptoms I had while on this medicine apart from the hair loss is that my hands would swell and night......I had excessive bruising all over.....

I will probably be safe with the clarith (and I know is also called biaxin, but thanks for pointing that out!). But tomorrow I will be talking with my doctor and thanks so much for this information, it is very helpful. It's just also been stressful the past few days so it's hard for me to think clearly about what I will do. I'll give an update, tahnks again!!

Took it for an upper respitory infection for 3 days and had terrible problems. The Dr then gave me Levaquin, took for 7 days, with the same side effects. Just this past winter, I had a UTI that wouldn't go away and was treated with Biaxin and another abx (I can't remember which one, I have to look...maybe Ceftin) and had a bad reaction to both of them. I went to the health food store and took a D-Mannose cranberry supplement instead of abx to get rid of the infection.

I am a man. Next day, having been prescribed Biaxin for bronchitis, I took four 500 mg pills at once. I know this was foolish, but I had panicked. 5 days later I developed an infected ingrown hair at the base of my penis. I am over forty, and I believe I know an ingrown hair when I see one - when I take Biaxin I get them all over my legs. Next day, the bump had not opened up into an ulcer. I saw a hair growing out of the middle of it, and squeezed the bump.

It looks like the check CT noted emphysema. That alone can cause this kind of coughing. My mom quit smoking after over 60 years, and coughs more than she ever did while smoking. Doc says it can go on for several months before it finally goes away. If the docs can't find any other infection or disease process, your husband may be in for more suffering before his body deals with the changes from not smoking.

I've been having abdominal pain for a bit over two months. Last week I was diagnosed with a duodenal ulcer and am taking Amoxicillin, Biaxin and Prevacid. About 3 weeks or so after stopping antibiotics (Amoxicillin and Biaxin) I developed a flat, red, and sometimes itchy rash on both breasts and my stomach. Sometimes I get shooting pains in my breasts. I have had a frequent urge to urinate and bladder pressure for a few weeks. The pressure became very painful as if I constantly have a very full bladder even right after I empty my bladder. I tested "trace positive" for a urinary tract infection after having taken amoxicilin 500 for 2 days. I do not and have not had any burning sensation when I urinate. Is there other things that create a positive urinary test beside bladder infections.?
